  1. Nope - the hatchback protector is founded under 'limousine', 'combi' under.....'combi'
  2. I have the 190ps version of the 2.0tsi engine with 7 speed dsg and tow a trailer + boat. Works very well - but be careful when crawling in slow traffic, especially uphill - the gearbox won't like that so much, could overheat. The advice I found is if you are in a traffic jam is to let the traffic ahead move forward a bit and wait before you move so you avoid slowly crawling along. Also, in this situation put the dsg into sport mode so it holds in first gear rather than shifting to second. I guess you could do this using manual mode too.
  3. The 190ps petrol was only available, for a short while, in SEL and L&K trim, unlike the Superb there was no Sportline version. The 4x4 version 0-60 is 6.6 seconds.
  4. Thanks - I was very pleased to get it since it was the only 4x4 petrol within my budget at the time. Got a great discount through an on-line broker too (who has since gone into administration!)
  5. I am indeed - it was only available for a short while in early 2019: 2.0TSI 190 SE L 4x4 Has Arrived.... - Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 onward) - BRISKODA
  6. Car Wow included these comments: The new Sportline is also offered with a 190hp 2.0-litre petrol engine that isn’t available on lower-spec models all-wheel-drive and a seven-speed automatic DSG gearbox can be paired with the top engine offerings. I have this engine in my Mark 3 SEL estate. Since it's 4x4 it is slightly quicker than a FWD VRS to 60mph.
  7. Good to hear that it is ok now - btw did you get a warning light come on when it first happened?
  8. GPF's 'passively' regenerate when off the throttle, needs more oxygen not fuel. I found this explanation : GPF regeneration can only be performed in “non power” conditions, meaning that regeneration is normally achieved under deceleration. Deceleration increases the amount of oxygen following through the engine and exhaust system. This in turn raises the temperature of the GPF to around 400c – 700c, igniting the soot contained within the filter. In conditions where this is not possible, the vehicles engine management systems alters timing causing it to run lean. This “lean” burn increases oxygen and therefore GPF operating temperatures, allowing a regeneration to occur.
  9. I'm not sure if it's passive only - I've Googled about it and found references to active regeneration in other engines (e.g. VW Up and some Kia's with GPF's). I'd be surprised if it didn't have the ability to regenerate actively, just in case. The handbook refers to the warning light but doesn't say whether it is just for diesels or petrol as well.
  10. I have the same engine, but I've not experienced this issue. If maybe you've only been doing short journeys recently I wondered if it might be doing a GPF regeneration?
  11. There are enough crap sounding loud exhausts around already - don't add to the pile please. Fast and quiet is much classier.
  12. Good to hear this is normal I saw this from mine - the engine was warmed up, I never give too much throttle until the oil is over 85 degrees. Bit disconcerting first time it happens!
  13. Tech for the sake of tech is not always good I was behind a Mini Clubman last night and it's brake lights seemed to be the high intensity fog lights! When I passed, its front fogs were on so maybe this was a 'feature'. Anyway in clear weather they were fierce, even though they are low down.
  14. That's a very selfish pov - it is very uncomfortable if your eyesight is more sensitive at night. Still, don't want to put you to any trouble, so you carry on avoiding such a lot of hassle.
  15. Think you need to brush up on what a eunuch is missing
  16. I use neutral and handbrake at lights etc, so I don't blind the people behind. I don't like sitting behind someone with brake lights on so I don't do that to others. Enough reason for me not to want autohold.
  17. 'S' mode is useful when towing in crawling traffic, especially uphill, since it stays in 1st gear and stops the box shifting to 2nd at low revs. Helps to keep the clutch fully engaged and avoid slip/overheating.
  18. If it helps, I now the FL 190 with GPF has Multi Port Injection. As far as I know it's the US market that doesn't get MPI.
  19. My Octavia 2.0 tsi didn't come with this fitted - it isn't fitted at the factory on the petrol versions. I ordered one at my local dealer - took a couple of days to arrive - and I collected / fitted it myself. Saves on postage - it cost less than £30 I think (and came with the fasteners).
  20. AFAIK a re-gen can only happen when the engine is running - I had a diesel Scout and when that was doing a re-gen the tickover speed increased. I haven't noticed that happening with my new car (2.0tsi 190). Nor have I noticed the fan running after switching off, but I have known many cars do that over the years, which of course is to keep cooling the engine. Maybe that happens after a short journey when re-gen has been taking place and there's more heat in the system. I understand the re-gen happens on deceleration when more oxygen is drawn in to increase the temperature.
  21. I would have gone back to them too - mine came from Rainworth, Mansfield - on a trailer at no extra cost.
  22. oh dear, that's a bit of a shock to say the least. I checked the company out and saw that they had been in business for around 15 years, with many good reviews over a long period of time. From what I can find online they are optimistic that the supplying dealers will honour the orders so customers don't lose out. From what I now know they were different from other on-line brokers in that the full balance for the car was paid to them just prior to delivery, not to the supplying dealer. All worked well for about 7000 buyers over the years apparently. I hope people get their cars, or at least their deposit back. The company strongly advised customers to pay their deposit by credit card, so the card company is equally responsible, so should refund that, and should refund up to £30k if the full payment has been made and no car is delivered.
  23. I bought mine via 'Buy A New Car Online' and was very happy with the price and the experience.
  24. I set the maxi dot to see the oil temperature since that always takes longer to warm up than water temp. This helps both when new and as general practice all the time, and don't use higher rev range until it's over 80 centigrade.
