skoda rough idle
Brygill replied to Brygill's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda Forman
i havent got any way of checking voltage apparently some parts where changed over becuase they didnt look to good. At the moment this is not as important as on my way home in it tonight the temp just touched red so turned engine of and rolled to the inlaws. Coolant had all gone even though topped up the day before but near the thermostat housing there was steam appearing can not say directly where it was coming but when i put in new fluid it was wet under the thermostat housing and the bottom right corner of the engine checked all pipes and no splits. all pipes were in great condition could one of slipped a little.do i buy a new thermostat housing just wonder how would you guys go about it where to start if a pipe has slipped best way to check anything to put on pipes and look for it bubbling -
skoda rough idle
Brygill replied to Brygill's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda Forman
It had stalling problems before the engine swap engine was swapped because was letting out blue smoke. Did have throttle body clean and reset but no different all parts that were on pickup before are the same leads. In did notice that thermostat was not working properly blowing Luke warm so I swapped just the thermostat over to which I now have hot air coming out temp gauge goes just over half way. I did notice that the temp sensor on pickup had a blue ring of plastic while the one on the other engine had a yellow if that makes sense. Without the heaters on it revs fine no eratic idle untill they are turned on full -
Have finally changed the engine in my Felicia fun but stalls when cold when warmed up runs fine well about 800/900 rpm but when the heater is turned on wether cold or hot air the revs go mad up and down between 200-900 rpm any idea what it could be

Felicia exaust is confusing me
Brygill replied to Brygill's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda Forman
Would of measured but completely rotted and snapped of never to be seen again -
After the back box fell of my felicia fun I decided to swap it with my doner cars exhaust while doing this I noticed that the silencer had seen better days so was going to replace both. After several sprays of wd a lot of banging with rubber mallet wiggling and slice to finger exhausts were of. Then the trouble started I fit the silencer with abit of persuading with the mallet and it didn't seem to line up with the existing brackets about an inch out needs to go towards the front of van. Thought will be ok just stick out back a little more but when fitting the back box it seems that the whole exaust needs to come towards back of the van as back box is protruding passenger side rear springs. Completly confused as why would it be a different exaust was of a skoda felicia 1.6 Glxi can I just put an extension piece on if so will it affect mot

Hello all well have nearly completely stripped my Felicia 1.6 Glxi only took several months but can now see the light. not very mechanical minded all parts will be spares for my fun only thing that is left it engine and gearbox not a clue where to start with these I do have an engine hoist available at the ready. Where do I start would it be easier to take engine then gearbox or vice versa and where would I start I no gearbox needs be jacked up and speedo cable removed any things I need to look out for as box will be fitted into my fun (not by me thank god) any help guides will be much appreciated

Hello have had a go at fixing my rear seats so that they lock into place I've had the catch of and removed all the very badly damaged plastic from catches (a temporary measure I no) but now the when I try to put the locking machanism on something has slipped inside is it just the four fixings in the centre of the seats to get to the machanisms inside

Uma thank you for the reply. on my air intake I do not have any rubber it's just plastic that slides over the top of the throttle body I take it that this part is missing then are these still available and do they have a name (easier to find on net) if not would a plumbers ajustable rubber collar work the same

Hello everybody I'm new to the forum hope your all ok. Been having trouble with my fun cutting out when cold and stopping but it's fine when its warmed up. Brought a 2nd hand throttle body as this seems like the main culprit for this problem so when I was taking old one out it was covered in oil and was taped up as pipe from air filter didn't seem like a snug fit but it's not a snug fit on new one either at least 5mm all the way round is the throttle body wrong or pipe wrong sorry about my very little mechanical knowledge. Also do I need a vag-com to reset ecu or does disconnecting battery work many thanks guys
