I used to get water in my wheel well and knew it was from the panoramic roof as could see water marks on the rear pillar trim, but never found a clear how to guide so never tried to fix it. However I recently went in search of the reason behind an intermittent rear wiper fault and found how easy it was to fix the leak problem. I did the following:
1. Pull off the trim of the rear pillars on each side
2. Pull the roof lining down, it is held on by velcro
3. I used a kitchen roll to wedge to roof lining down giving me enough room to access but not putting a fold in the room lining
4. I found the white tube which runs from each corner of the sunroof and enters the black rubber boot which in turn exits near to the boot hinges was a rubbish fit. The joints were wrapped in a kind of black bandage of which the adhesive had gone all funny and looked and felt like dirty grease.
5. I cleaned all of this off with citrus cleaner and used a cable tie to tighten the joint and it has worked.
6. The roof liner just needs feeding back into the boot rubber and then the pillar covers can be returned

Oh I see! Didn't realise Eibach made the OEM springs. I would of snapped them up if I wasn't selling my Superb and would not of been very impressed when getting the car off the ramps and...!

I have replaced mine, at the time nobody made a copy or offered just the regulator and so I had to buy the whole unit OEM Which was about £170. I guess you can add a couple of hours labour.

Btw my local fitting company wanted £60 to fit a supplied towbar. Even though I am a tight arse I would say it is definitely worth it. I found the bar £20 cheaper on the net so thought I was making a good saving however the universal relay kit required aditional wiring and terminals etc and I wish I didn't bother.

I have recently done mine and used a relay rather than linking into the canbus.
I took the boot trim all out so I could keep the spliced connections all in the dry and picked the power up from the aux (cigarette lighter) socket in the boot. Works a treat other than the parking sensors coming on obviously.
A couple more useful tips are that you may need some Hammerite paint. When I removed my crash bar to replace it with the towbar it exposed bare metal as it had obviously been fitted before painting.
I fitted a QV Witter detachable and the bar alone sets the parking sensors off so I wouldn't advise on a fixed towbar if you wanted to keep them functioning.

It is a bit of a job but the steps on my 2010 where:
1. Undo 10mm nut under the rear seat which holds the bolster in place, and then remove the bolster by pulling out a bit at the bottom and pushing up at the top.
2. Take the spare wheel out and remove the 3 hex screws from the middle boot trim then pull the trim off.
3. Undo the two hex hex screws and then remove the hockey stick shaped trim.
4. Undo the hex screw holding the side compartment in at the bottom.
5. Pull the rear pillar trim off and undo the two hex screws underneath.
6. Push the hooks in underneath the parcel shelf track and use a butter knife to leaver out, remove the parcel shelf and undo the 6 hex screws along the plastic trim.
7. Pull away the plastic trim from its clips and then you will see the boot trim is hocked onto the metal at the top. Lift the trim and prise the hooks off and you will have you access.

Hi All,
I've been lurking in the background for some time and finally got round to joining mainly as I have some experiences to share with my 2010 Superb Elegance estate tdi.
The car is standard other than the usual Vag-Com tweaks and a towbar. My only plans are to possibly lower it a touch as it is often just me in the car and I feel it bounces around too much, riding so high.
Looks a great, friendly forum and I look forward to being part of it.
Aside from cars I like dinghy sailing, fishing and walking.

Rain leaking in Superb mkII

I had fun removing the scuttle on mine today. The lip of the scuttle which fits in the groove below the windscreen is barbed.
One half came away ok, the other started to break leaving the lip in the groove but I got that out with a butter knife which started the rest.
To note (somewhere), below the scuttle just drains through a gap into the wheel arch so nothing there that particularly needs cleaning out.
I had several inches of leaves and dirt stacked up behind the wheel arch liner. So well worth getting in there to stop rust.
I believe my leak was from the sunroof. I palled the passenger side roof lining down, very wet within, and the rodded from there. The pipe comes out by the hinges as shown. I used a syringe to push water through and lots of dirt came out and now everything runs free.
