  1. Now on ebay: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&pub=5575378759&campid=5338273189&customid=&icep_item=183689678314&ipn=psmain&icep_vectorid=229508&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg&toolid=11111
  2. I finally say goodbye to my trusted Octy Mk2 at the end of the month. Now stripped back to standard, the last item I have for sale is the Montblanc S2 rear mounted cycle carrier which is a brilliant way to carry 2 large bikes around. Here is the item on the Montblanc site. https://www.montblancgroup.com/en/gb/products/bike-racks/trunk-bike-racks/rear-trek-s2/691252/ This one is well used but in good condition with all fittings present. The fitting kit is number 3 in this case but others are available separately for under £20. The attached shows which kit you need: http://fulfilment.fps-click.co.uk/applicationguides/MontBlanc_Cycle Carriers_01FEB15.pdf This example contains kit 691263 (kits are listed in last column). 691261, 691262 or 691264 will need to be bought separately if your car needs one of those. Once set up once for your car for the first time you can leave it mostly set up while still folding it quite flat for easier storage. When using it there was very little extra fuel consumed unlike the roof mounted carrier I had before and the bikes are held in an extremely stable fashion. It takes a few minutes to attach but it is by far the best bike carrier I have used. This too big to post so it will need to be collected from Newport NP20 or Pontypridd CF37 please, or I can meet half way if you are reasonably close. Any questions please send a message. Thanks Adam
  3. Yes just a bit of trim removal and swap over the two pin plug. The rear speaker will be behind the trim at the foot of the passenger b pillar.
  4. Sounds plausible. They are quite cheap thankfully. Try item 263052531133 on ebay for example.
  5. A scan is advisable as stated but when I upgraded from an older parking module to a newer one which needed a second speaker I had this issue until I fitted the second speaker. At a guess I would say one of your speakers (one under steering wheel cowl and one at foot of passenger b pillar) is goosed.
  6. I take it from your username you are South-Wales based? I will happily scan car for if you fancy a trip to Newport or Treforest. You can compare your car to my 08 pre fl l&k and try my switch to see if the hardware all works if you like. It does sound like someone has stripped the light switch out - even the Elegance had auto lights I believe.
  7. I like DAB and there are loads more stations. It is an easy swap but you will need a DAB aerial and if getting integrated sat nav, a GPS aerial too. You can go whole hog for a shark fin aerial but then you need run cables to the roof, or use the simple cheap stick on window versions. GPS aerials can be stuck behind the unit itself and are cheap. If you are interested I have an OEM DAB Columbus unit in the parts for sale section, which has sat nav, an SD card slot and hard drive for music and latest maps. If you live anywhere near Newport, South Wales, I will happily help fit and code the unit to your car.
  8. This is the piano black dash fascia for an Octavia Mk2. This one fits around the original Columbus head unit and the facelifted climate panel. The part carries the number 1Z0 858 069, with colour code N77. It is in good condition with only a couple of minor scratches (see second photo) and all lugs intact. The cost is £15 (plus postage if required), or make me a reasonable offer. Any questions please ask. Adam
  9. NOW SOLD One last item on stripping my car back to original is the phone upgrade to the steering wheel buttons for a 2004-2008 pre facelift mk2 Skoda Octavia. These were a rare option on the multifunction steering wheel of this car and worked well in my car with a Columbus headunit and Bluetooth module to answer and end calls, and also with voice control. I swapped them for the standard buttons on the left hand side of the wheel and have just swapped them back as I strip my car back to its original state for trade-in. For sale at £25 including postage, or make an sensible offer. The part number is 1Z0 959 537A / 1Z0959537A and they are a stupid price if bought new. They are easily fitted by removing the airbag (disconnect battery and wait 30 mins!) and replacing the existing buttons by simply unplugging, prising off and replacing. Any questions please let me know.
  10. Now reduced to £350 and extra picture of unit out of car added.
  11. This is a small module which connects to the CAN gateway and converts the older DDP signal to BAP and allows newer premium bluetooth modules to be connected and paired in older cars e.g. pre FL Mk2 Octavias. (https://www.autopolar.net/product/polar-bt-bluetooth/). I have had one of these fitted this in my own pre-FL Octavia which has worked perfectly for four years with a premium bluetooth module. This is available for £50 including the cable to connect it to the gateway and a long cable to support firmware updates.
  12. Yes I would but preferably after the module goes (as I want to keep the options open for older cars). Note its not a full polar FIS. It is specifically for BT and doesnt give you all the extra data in the maxidot. Adam
  13. NOW SOLD Bluetooth module 3C8 035 730D for sale at £100 plus postage, as I strip my car down to its original state this coming weekend. This is a premium Bluetooth module which integrates perfectly with the newer white maxidot and the original Columbus or Bolero units. It allows both RSAP and handsfree connection and so supports connection to all phones. Connecting via RSAP means you can set up a WiFi hotspot in the car, and receive text messages to the head unit or maxidot. Handsfree is the simpler connection which works with handsets like iPhones that don't support RSAP. The module also allows the connection of a separate media player to the phone, so you can have one person's phone connected for calls and another's for music. You will need your own loom, mic and GSM antenna if this is a new BT installation, but the module will simply fit to the same connections if replacing an older module. These looms can be found here for example: https://www.carsystems.eu/gsm-antenna-for-premium-bluetooth-5n0-and-3c8,id113.html. Fitting is easy and if replacing an older module, is basically plug and play, and there are plenty of guides on here if starting from scratch. The unit will need some coding, but I can help with that before sending it if you like as I have VCDS (or if you are local I can do it once fitted). Note if updating an older module that doesn't support RSAP, you will need just the GSM antenna (if so you won't have a purple FAKRA plug on your old module). These are available for £10-£15 on eBay, e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120977270583. Note this is not wholly suitable for the pre-FL Mk2 Octavia or other cars which have the older DDP type maxidot. In these cases pairing can only be managed by popping the module in a newer car, and phone menus do not show in the maxidot. However, there is a box which connects to the CAN gateway that converts the DDP signal to BAP and solves this issue (https://www.autopolar.net/product/polar-bt-bluetooth/), allowing access to phone menus on the maxidot, including pairing. I have had one of these fitted this in my own pre-FL Octavia which has worked perfectly for four years, and can sell this for an extra £50 (including all the cabling to connect it to the gateway) if you want to fit one of these premium modules to your earlier car. If you take up this option I don't think it should need any additional coding (it didn't for me), but I would recommend a VCDS scan to check for coding faults. If you are local, I'll happily do that for you. I'm stripping out all the equipment this coming weekend, so let me know if interested. Any questions please ask. Thanks Adam
  14. I have a March 2014 DAB Columbus for sale (3T0035686H) coming out of my car Octavia prior to me moving on to a younger model. It has the SSD 30gb hard drive, firmware version 6270 and map version 8536, which is the latest v16 at time of posting. This unit is in good condition and has worked perfectly in my Octavia for four years. Before I removed my MDI unit it also worked well with that, and it currently works with any of a CD changer, aux in, phone media player via bluetooth or SD card for music. I have the security code. The cost will be £380 £325 collected from NP20, or add £15 for insured delivery. Note if you can collect, I’ll happily fit and code the unit to your car for you (I have VCDS). You will need a DAB aerial if you haven't already got DAB, and you can either source that yourself from about £15 for the stick-on window versions, buy your own 'proper' aerial. The VW shark fin DAB aerial are found googling part number 6R0 035 501 D). Pictures of the head unit working are attached. Any questions please PM or post here. Thanks Adam
  15. And also a screenshot of it charging my phone and the usb and old 30 pin apple connectors.
