Does anyone know if the wiring looms inside the Fabias that run behind the dashboard differ depending on the engines? Seriously considering putting a PD in my car which is a SDI, I know the engine loom will need to be changed, engine loom is also separate to the rest of it all, so wondering if I could get away with just changing the engine bay loom, ECU, clocks etc. Without taking all the dash out Can't think of there being any differences inside the car throughout the engine ranges, as long as the is the same spec I.E. a elegance. I could just buy a tdi but theres no fun in that for folk loke me who prefer building their cars. Cheers

hi all, anyone selling roof rails for a Fabia Combi? really wanting some for mine, tried all the breakers on ebay but most have sold or don't reply

well, turns out the gearboxes are completely different, the linkage on the gold is rod whereas the fabia is cable, also the clutch cylinder is different. so after coming to a dead end with the sdi, 'cant find a gearbox for a reasonable price locally, ive decided to go a different route and buy a TDI donor car and do a engine swap, as works out better value as sdi boxes always seem to fail and not spending £300 on a gearbox that'll blow up in 2000 miles

Does anyone know if a mk4 Golf 1.9 sdi gerbox will fit a mk1 Fabia SDI 'ASY' engine?

Possibly,but the amount of work and mods ive done to the car makes buying a TDI combi seem a bit pointless, as then i would need to transfer all my mods, custom wiring looms etc over do the tdi

Well, managed to find a gearbox with a 2 week warranty As long as it lasts until the insurance drops a bit for me, then i will be doing a TDI conversion

Hi all, the gearbox has blown in my Fabia sdi, by blown i mean the bearings have gone as it make a horriffic howling noise and doesnt always engage 3rd I own a Fabia 4 speed lol Does anyone know if the box from a TDI will ft an SDI?

Cheers both, i removed the wiper mech and blasted the plenum out so it's spotless, no dead leaves but still seems to be leaking, will check the inner and outer wings

This bloody Fabia is at it again, I sealed all the doors so they no longer leak but the drivers foot well is wet again, taken drivers side kick panel off and there is water on the metal behind it....but where's it comming in? I sealed all around the door straps as wondered if that was it but nope, made no differance So before I sell the car and buy an Octavia, is there anywhere else to check?I also removed the wiper scuttle and cleared the plenum out too. Again, no differance

This is a mod i done a while ago, fitted the roof rack off a Chrysler Grand, voyager, had to narrow and shorten it, but fits perfectly and looks better than the OEM skoda bars

Wasn't too bad, you can get wiring looms for about £50 to wire them in, but I made my own loom

bought another pair of fabia hatches, both 1.4 mpi, both identical exept one is a comfort the Y reg classic will be used as a 2nd daily driver and a road rally car, for navigational, targa and 12 car events, it will stat pretty much standard exept some driving lamps up front the comfort 2002 reg will be completely stripped and used solely as a grass autotest car, under body protection panels will be fabricated, also i might convert the engine to throttle bodies, or possibly replace it altogether with something slightly mad the nice parts from the comfort, elec mirrors, front fogs, rear speakers etc will be going onto the other silver classic, and make that into a nice car the ginger Combi SDI which some of you might of seen on face book is also a classic, but i have upgraded her to Elegance spec complete with heated seats! anyway, here's some pics and i'll continue to post updates here
