  1. The legal requirement is for FRONT daylight running lights. The concept of a rear DRL does not exist.
  2. That is certainly not my experience. In the past two weeks I have had both a slow puncture (bloody blackthorn - it's evil stuff) and a leaking valve on separate wheels. In both cases it was the TPMS that alerted me and when I checked pressures, on each occasion the tyre was down by some 3-4lbs - so the system seems quite sensitive in my view. Conversely, in the Spring I had an instant blowout after hitting a big pot-hole and there was nary a peep from the TPMS. Go figure! I suppose it was because I stopped instantly before the ABS sensor had a chance to re-act.
  3. Change the key fob battery - then there's a sporting chance the warning will go.
  4. Could be one of the disc backing plates starting to work loose - they are notoriously flimsy on these cars and the mounting points corrode away. Easy enough to check and eliminate that as a cause. There was a thread recently about this.
  5. Generally speaking, wheel balance you can feel through the steering wheel, - wheel bearing tends to be more of a droning noise. It sounds as if I've got a wheel bearing starting to go, but my mechanic can't really tell which side it is at this early stage so we're going to leave it for a few more miles until it is clear which wheel it is.
  6. Just to re-assure the O.P. The floor-pans are made by robots on an automated line, - no opportunity for human error. The holes will be there.
  7. This may sound silly, but have you had a good poke and prod at where the bolt holes should be? As I read your post I had a vague memory of being similarly bemused once - it may well have been with my Octy - only to discover that the holes had been gunged over and painted so well that they were perfectly camouflaged.
  8. I am struggling to think of situations where this might be of use. I really hope you are not suggesting that as the driver you could be watching video.
  9. Dunno about specific tailored protectors for a Scout, but you could try "helicopter tape" which is very effective for this sort of thing. There are various suppliers on fleabay.
  10. There are very helpful people who will, I am sure, be along in a while to give you chapter and verse. In the meantime if you wish to push on yourself, there are a large number of past threads on this subject. The search function at the top of the page is a bit clunky but it gets there in the end.
  11. Can't help really - have not seen this raised as an issue before - but I guess the obvious first question is: are auto-dipping etc working as normal
  12. I would second having a look at the PF Jones website. They do the Westfalia towbar, as used by Skoda, and often have special offers which represent a considerable saving. It's a fairly straightforward job to fit, alternatively you could check on the approved installers recommended by PF Jones.
