Car automatically locking when getting out / Key not in range
Fully comprehensive insurance does not necessarily mean that you are insured Full Comp to drive other cars, may not cover you at all. Usually allows other drivers to drive your car, unless you restrict it to named drivers to reduce premium. I have always had to pay a small amount for Courtesy cars from our local dealer.

How do you set the "Speed Limit warning" ?
Hi, Setting the Winter tyres limit worked just fine.π I will spend a bit more time looking for the other limit setting that some have suggested exists.

How do you set the "Speed Limit warning" ?
That looks like the MFD display on my Yeti, the Karoq display is quite different.

How do you set the "Speed Limit warning" ?
Many thanks, that seems to be the answer. I have set it to the speed I want, and we will see tomorrow if it works as hoped. Thanks to all who have replied. I will post an update afterwards.

How do you set the "Speed Limit warning" ?
I think that is a different thing. You can have Cruise Control or Speed Limiter. The latter just stops you going over the limit - I think - but I just want the simple warning that we had on the Yeti, which went "Ping" and popped up a message on the MFD.

How do you set the "Speed Limit warning" ?
Thanks, that is somewhere else to look when I have some time to spare "fiddling" in the car.

How do you set the "Speed Limit warning" ?
This is not relevant I'm afraid. It is a simple warning that I could set on the Yeti, such that if the car exceeded x mph, a beep would sound and a warning flash up saying Speed in excess of x, which remained until you slowed below that speed. We found it a useful thing to keep within limits without being fixated on the Speedo. It was quite independent of the Cruise Control, and did not rely on any external signals. I cannot find anything like it in the Karoq.

Has no one any ideas about this?

Amundsen navigation
This is an edited shot from the Digital manual. Click the button marked 1st on the Nav screen, and the screen changes to this shot, then click the button Top right marked 2nd. This then allows Post Code entry and search. It does work but seems a bit clunky? Hope this helps?

Amundsen navigation
Hi, I will try and do so next time I am in the car, I did try out the Amundsen navigation today and I really don't like it compared with Apple or Google Maps. Seriously irritating voice instructions and less visible info such as ETA.

Amundsen navigation
I have had another βplayβ and solved it. There is another button top right which then allows you to enter a post code as a search address. I expect like most post code searches it only takes you to somewhere within it, not sure if one can narrow it down at all, as some postcodes cover quite a large patch.

Amundsen navigation
Hi, Is it possible to search using Post Code. The first line of search entry seems to be City followed by Street, no place for Post Code as far as I can see. If this is the case then it is pretty useless. I may not need it, as with Car Play I can use Google or Apple Maps or Waze, but just wanted to see how the Skoda system worked, if it does?

How do you set the "Speed Limit warning" ?
Have a 23 Karoq SE L with the Digital Display, I cannot find out how to set the Sound and Visual warning that you have exceeded a pre-set limit. It was dead easy in the Maxidot display in our Yeti. The instructions in the handbook are a) not very clear and b) possibly only refer to the Virtual Cockpit. Can anyone enlighten me please?

KESSY unlocking temperamental
I had to be in Ipswich this afternoon, so called in to the dealer on the way home. They had a look while I was there, confirmed what I had found, no surprise there, he took it in to the workshop to do some tests, not full diagnostics, when he came back he said he had changed the battery just in case, but βit didnβt seem to have made any difference β. He gave a date to bring it back for full diagnostic check, but I was to confirm when I got home and checked our diary. Anyway, I went to the car and it just unlocked!! I checked a couple of times, both doors, and it seemed fine. I went back in to tell him, and he said βyou must have magic handsβ. I need to use it for a week or so to confirm that the battery change fixed it and let him know. In conclusion it was a faulty battery, only 3 months old, and mystifying that it only affected that one specific function.

Thanks, but it is not a problem with how I hold the handle, although I may have done it incorrectly once or twice at first. In all my recent tests I have been especially careful to touch of hold the handle correctly.

KESSY unlocking temperamental
I have done another "test" this morning. Went to the car with the faulty key, did not unlock with touch. Returned with the good key, unlocked fine. Took that key away and returned with the faulty one. Got in and started car, just fine, switched off again and locked car keyless with touch on handle. In conclusion, the faulty key carries out all Keyless functions other than unlocking. How weird is that, must be some odd failure in the electronics within the key?

KESSY unlocking temperamental
This morning I checked both keys again. The βwrongβ one failed to unlock the doors, I tried driver and passenger doors. The good one worked perfectly, both on the driverβs and passenger doors, but not the rears, I didnβt expect them to anyway, although I gather on the Kodiaq you can unlock using any door? I am waiting to hear from the dealers about how they are going to sort this out. It is only a minor nuisance but it should be fixed.

Thanks to all for your thoughts and suggestions.

KESSY unlocking temperamental
Hi, Thanks for your suggestion, however this is my third Skoda and I am very familiar with the fob buttons, it is the first KESSY though. To recap, it locks and unlocks just fine using the buttons on the key fob, that is not the problem, which is that with the βwrongβ key it does not unlock when I touch the door handle, however, once I have unlocked it with the button on the fob, it then starts and stops with no problem. When I exit the car it locks perfectly when I touch the outside of the door handle. The other key works perfectly in all respects.

I answer to your questions, a. Yes b. In a building about 100 meters away c. No. I would have thought if the battery is duff it would not start the car either, or perhaps it can because then it is inside the car rather than outside? The car is only 3/12 old. My test today was pretty careful, I left one key inside our building whilst I went out to the car park and tested the other and vice versa. Did not use the key fob buttons at any time today.

KESSY unlocking temperamental
I had a sudden thought today. There are two keys, βwhat if the apparent randomness is due to using different keys?β I carried out a trial and confirmed that, for unlocking one key works 100% and the other never, and yet both work fine to start and stop the engine?!? I have spoken to the sales lass at Skoda, she had never heard of such a thing and is going to talk to the technicians on Monday to see how it can be fixed.

KESSY unlocking temperamental
Tried this morning, very careful not to touch the outside of the handle, did not unlock! Had to use the key fob. Locked OK with touch, will see what happens next time.

Thanks, it could be something like that as it is all new to me. I will take care to avoid doing that.

KESSY unlocking temperamental
We have just bought a Karoq, 23 reg. We are very pleased with it, although it is only day 2.π One odd quirk is that the Keyless unlocking does not always work, does sometimes, not others, for no apparent reason. Keyless locking always works. Has anyone had a similar experience or can offer advice as to the likely cause and/or solution?
