  1. hello , and thanks for the nice guide .

unfortunatly i broke one of the adjusting screws , and i could not take it out to replace it .

i had to change the whole rocker arm shaft with all components attached to it , but when unscrewd the two head sylinder bolts , water came out of bolts place , is it a problem??? should i worry after placing the bolts back ???

  2. Hi Ricardo

At last i found one problem : idle fuel air jet is faulty ( the on in the photo ) . the narrow tube is long , it should be short . replaced it with new one with a shorter narrow tube . now when i turn mixture screw all the way in , engine doesnt stop running , but it runs in low rpm . at least i can set mixture screw very much better than before .

Now there is another problem : when the engine is cold , i start the engine , choke rises rpm very good , after a minute or two engine suddenly stops running , i try more than 10 time after that to start engine , then it runs , some times i press fuel pedal the engine stops running . when engine gets a little bit worm , everything goes ok , and all problems gone .

    Any advice please ????

  3. yes i did change the enrichment valve with a new one . and i checked the vaccum using smoke : the only place was leaking smoke is the axe of the throttle valve

note : if i turn the idle screw all the way out the engine stops running , and if i turn the choke flap to block air passage the engine also stops running , and if i take the electric cable out of the cutoff valve also the engine stops runing .

yesterday i had a look inside the stage 1 while the engine is running , i could see the throttle valve flooded with fuel but i couldn't locate where the fuel comes from .

i checked vaccum unit of the distributor , it's keeping pressure . i also took out the hose of servo and blocked it's hole in minifold , tried the mixture screw , still the same problem .

i'm really tired of this car . and i do not know what to do . i cannot find new carburator . my carburator is piece of s*** . i think selling the car is my only chance now.

  4. hi Ricardo ..

finally i found where the problem is : mixture screw , i had to change it two months ago , because it was broken as you see in the photo , i brought another one , and discovered yesterday that it doesn't block the mixture when it's screwed the whole way in , you can see the difference between the two screws in the photo , now i'll look for new screw that fit in my carburator , i wish to find one ,

    thank you for your help

  5. my car is 1998 , about 200,000 km .

it's written on the side of the Carb ( jikov , made in checkoslovakia )

my car ran well only one time and for about one week , it happened when i fitted the hoses in right positions ( they were fitted wrong )

today i tried rotating the distributer : black smoke got lesser , but i didnt have luck with the mixture screw .

note : when i bought the car about one year ago , a mechanic changed piston rings , they were faulty

  6. I checked for vacuum leaks , fixed them all , same problem with mixture screw, black smoke increesed .

I didn't replace the float needle , but I don't know if the former owner did ?

Can i measure fuel level in float chamber without removing the carburator out?

One more notice : when i push the brake pedal in , or out , rpm raise from 800 to 1100 then goes back to 800 , is that normal ?

  7. hi Ricardo

i did everything as you told me to do ( resurfacing , using rienzosil , removing PDU , blocking the hose with a ball , removing TTV ) ... but i still have the same problem which is : i turn the co mixture screw all the way in and the engine stays running . i have black smoke from the exhaust .

what should i do now ???? do i have to check the servo pipe ??? or anything else ???

    thank you for your help

  8. Hi Ricardo

Here's what happened with me : I found that the vaccum pull down leaks , now I'm looking for a new one .

The good news that I found rienzosil from victor rienz , the bad news that I couldn't find a new vaccum pull down till now, i tried to deassemble the vaccum pull down , but it can't be repaired .

Im in real trouble now .

Thank you for your help , I'll let you know if something new happened.

  9. thank you Ricardo for the great informations....but i have some questions plz:

1- sandpaper should be soft or rough ?

2- can i use gasket maker liquid instead of 'liquid gasket' from Victor Reinz ??

3- do i have to put the sealant or gasket maker ( if i can use instead ) in touch with the manifold and the carburator ?

4- i dont have torque meter ... what can i do instead ???

5- do i have to put sealant on the gasket between carburator's upper and lower parts ?

6- for silicone rubber or viton sheets ,do i have to resurface the carburator base ?

7- do i have to resurface the plastic spacer too ? or just the steel base ??

  10. Oh yeah, the answer is simple: VACUUM LEAK. The new base gasket is not sealing properly. Any vacuum leak and the carburetor will not work as it should. I've seen the symptoms on countless 2E3 carburetors.

What kind of base gasket do you have now? The old type (rubber over steel)? Or the new type (steel plate and plastic spacer) ? Depending on your answer I will tell you what to do.

i have the new steel plate and plastic spacer ...

  11. Hi faraj and welcome to the forum.

The photo you have referred to shows indeed the inside diaphragm of the vacuum pulldown unit.

Why do you ask? Do you have problems with one of them?

    PS

I hope you are far from the war zone. I wish Syrian people strength and courage to defend against all foreign aggressors.

hi Ricardo . and thank you for your encouragement , im far from war zone indeed , and Syrian people will defend our Syrian against terrorism

for my question : actually i have a problem in my carburator , which is that i turn the co mixture screw all the way in ( closed ) and the engine stays running , and i have black smoke and heavy fuel consumption , what i did was the next things :

1- cleaning carburator and changing gaskets

    2- changing jets

3- new carburator base with new gaskets

    4- new enrichment valve

5- changed all hoses in the carburator

note : when i close starter flap the engine turns of ....

i have doubt about choke pull down as to leak ... but i dont know how to disassemble it .. thats why i ask about it

    thank you for your help

  12. I just got back from my summer holidays.

I started to check all the vacuum parts again and found out the choke pull down was not keeping it's vacuum. When I took it apart:

So indeed a big vacuum leak, like you mentioned Ricardo.

    with regards

i just want to ask you is this (enrichment valve diaphragm) or (vacuum pull-down) ????

because the (vacuum pull-down) could not be deassembled ... am i right ???
