  1. Yep, it does it all the time except when it's accelerating it being revved. But that's just the engine noise covering it up I think.
  2. Not sure if it's relevant but it had the chain and tensioner changed at 60k miles and it's on 80k now. It doesn't seem to be coming from that side if that helps?
  3. No, an instructional guide lol for instance do I need to disconnect the high pressure fuel system to do it? Etc.
  4. Thank you for your reply? I hope it is that as I can't afford an engine rebuild. Is there a guide online to look at?
  5. The link below is a video of the noise it makes when it's revved.
  6. Hi, beena member on here since my Octavia VRS days.. I have a Seat Leon Copa now. Same engine as ina lot of Skodas and you guys have always seemed knowledgeable, that said, mods if it's not allowed move it to the right place and I apologise on advance. Anyway I have a 1.2 Tsi and it's making a horrible knocking noise and a weird noise when I come off the accelerator. It doesn't change whether its cold or has been on a drive but it does start noisy. It's been to two garages, the first one said it's too awkward to diagnose so could be in and out and would be easier to just swap the engine. The second said it's definitely a mechanical noise, which I already know and they think it's piston slap and will need an engine rebuild, which they won't do. I got the impression from both garages they felt it wasn't worth them messing about when they can do other things... The car pulls fine and if it wasn't for the noise I wouldn't suspect anything is wrong. I've attached a couple of videos to show what I mean. Thanks in advance. https://youtu.be/YMJUum721Mw
