  1. VW Engineer just got back to us and he has it at £29K before he even starts. Says it needs a new shell to get it to a good standard d as it was before, Now lets see how good Skoda insurance and Skoda GAP insurance is
  2. This is a better shot that my wife took.
  3. They think the RR driver blanked out, swerved left. mounted curb then pushed our car to the middle of the road. Amazed she didnt run a pedestrian over
  4. I dont think we have a choice do we? My argument was that we purchased it new so we know its spot on. We are towing horses. Cant be having any issues at all. Why should we lose out and have a repaired car. Its 18months old
  5. No they didnt go off. Do they go off when locked and parked up?
  6. No we wouldnt want it back, We tow a horse box with it. I know it wouldnt be a write off but would it be logged as damage repaired?
  7. Someone decided to push the wifes car 30ft down the road. Insurance companies computer says repair. How it can do that before inspection, is beyond me. as you look at the rear door, the roof looks bent to me.
  8. Whats worse is, its my wifes car and its her second one. So had Kodiaq's for about 6 years. She thought the button unlocked, not opened the boot I put then other side of house but always in and out with them for shed/garage etc. I thought someone posted how to disable button
  9. Hi. I am sick of going outside in a morning to find the boot half open and all the contents showing. Its been talked about before, but cant find it. Guessing its the remove being pressed while in pocket. How do you disable it
  10. The signature was from the VRS. Its the 150 oil burner. Edition 5 seat with factory tow bar. She doesn't drive like a women. Shes really good. Trailer is like new. I would have said the electric handbrake sometimes sticks a bit, but she manually released it once she found it wouldn't set off easy. I have to say, I have never stalled a diesel car in my life... until we got this. Total gutless until its on a roll. No low down power at all. I can dump the clutch on my transit and it never stalls.I am sure its a week clutch, along side poor low down power that's the issue. No trouble towing it on normal roads (keep revs up), just steep hill starts. By the way. Bad driver or not. It takes a hell of a lot of abuse to make a clutch smoke like that
  11. After 5 years of loving our Octavia VRS estate, we needed an upgrade. Circumstances changed and we needed a car to tow a horse box. So we got a Kodiaq 150 manual gearbox. Got it late August. Bout horse trailer 2 weeks ago. No problem towing, other than its gutless at low revs. 2nd time out and wife was towing it up a steep hill. Car in front stopped. When she set off, it wouldn't move without loads of revs. This was followed with a cloud of white smoke and the smell of a burnt out clutch. When she returned back to the yard, she let the clutch out and it stayed on the floor. She lifted it up with her foot and all ok. Horse box was 900kg and 450kg pony. Well in the weight. Skoda may change the clutch as its only done 1000 miles. Problem is, we don't trust it. Could have killed the horse and rote the car off Anyone else had problems?
  12. That's a point. Which ones have good protection
  13. Our Vrs estate is due some new tyres. It came with P zero's. Terrible traction. Doesn't grip at all in the wet. Never again. We got had to change the rears, after 1 week due to a nail. Got Nexen as they had damage cover with them. They are fine, but as on the rear, its hard to tell. Looking at Michelin Pilot Sport 4, but at £160 from Camskill, they arnt cheap (225/35/19) Good Year f1 at £116, so not bad. What is your experience with tyres. Running 19's so not as popular.
