  1. thanks. 2015 BMW 320d GT with Xdrive and the M-sport option.
  2. So i went to the dealer to trade in my octavia to get me a superb instead but ended up with a BMW so my skoda days are over (so far) would like to thank the community for all replies and help to all my questions over the 4 years, without briskoda i would have been lost... have nothing negative to say about skoda but the bmw gave me goosebumps so i went for it. goodbye and happy motoring.
  3. Good points from all! i would be driving it on winter wheels with spikes as we normally do here but still little bit concerned since the superb is a big car and pretty low so i guess it would be a hassel if we get lots of snow., well, i have been looking at another car too so now i am brainstorming..... a 2015 BMW 320d GT Xdrive but it doesent have webasto so then it would be back to using the ice scraper... but it is a nice car.
  4. yeah, guess you are right. Have been driving mazda, toyota and ford with 2wd in the past and survived . guess all the talk about 4wd is stuck in my head.. taking my octavia in for service next week so i am going to test drive the superb. the superb has only been driven for 16000 km so it is a "new"car. and yes, i want to :-)
  5. I currently have an octavia with 4wd and i have nothing bad to say about it other than the lack of hp (110hp) and the manual gearbox make it kind of a nag to drive. i have now set my eyes on a 2016 superb with 190hp and dsg gearbox and a lot of extras but i am a bit sceptical since it is a 2wd car i live in Norway so the winters can be lots of snow but i have been driving 2wd cars for years and cant remember being stuck in the snow more than 2-3 times over the years. anbody have a superb 2wd car and still are happy in the winter? the superb is a big car but with all the xds, asr, esp or whatever it is called it shoud perform just as well compared to other 2wd cars in winter conditions? sorry for the bad english....
  6. got the rear shock absorbers replaced on warranty when my car was 1 year old. Had the knocking sound when driving on ****ty roads, 5 min driving by the mechanic and he concluded with replacement and this was a known problem. no issues with the dealer and now a year later the sound is still gone.
  7. just was out driving and the outside temp was -12c so i figured i set the fan to intensive mode in the climatronic menu but when i pressed the menu button nothing happend. Anyone had this issue ? tryed to turn the car off and start it up again but still no response from the menu button.
  8. i know but it did not fix the problem. same crap happend as soon as winter came.
  9. yeah. i have the same problems with my amundsen head unit. when its cold the radio change the channels by it self and also the displaymode. the touch screen is sometimes very slow and sometimes it dont work at all until the car get warmer. I have complained to the dealer and he asked me to get it on film and send it to them but i always forget to film it when i am stressed in the morning. my dealer has been very nice so far, getting things fixed or changed on warranty so i guess this shoud be taken care of as soon as i get it documented on film,
  10. i've had the "hiccup" issue since the car was new (2016) took it to the dealer and they confimed this when test driving. i got the impression that this was a known fault and shoud be fixed in the next software update so i just had to wait for the release of the update... well , a year later and still no update. have had this so long now that i hardly notice it but still annoying to know it is there...
  11. oh yeah salting roads is now very popular in Norway and where i live in northen Norway it's very annoying since most of the time the salt is making perfect winter roads to slushy roads. there are rules on when they shoud use salt but they ignore it and just dump salt on snow and that makes it dangerous. 10-15 years ago they did not use salt here and it usally was great to drive on winter roads, just had to slow down when it was slippy. and yeah, the screen get's smeared with that crap.
  12. I live in Norway and i never use the washers while driving when temperature is under -2 -3 deegres celsius it will usally freeze on the windscren and get smeared around. you also got to remember -7 degrees with 10ms wind is -16,5 degrees effective temp.
  13. yeah sprayed wd40 and put some thin grease with lithium but still no fix. the dealer said that taking the lock mechanism apart for cleaning and lubricating was not something they would do, in my case where it is a warranty issue they just put a new lock mechanism in. interesting to see if they have an explanation on how it gets frozen, the moist/water must come from somewhere . i have read that this is a known issue to vag cars
  14. So in to the second winter with this car i get problems with frozen door (driver side) since the first day this fall with under 0 degrees celsius i had problems with the door wont close after opening it. have to warm up the car for 15-20 minutes before it shut. talked to the dealer for advise and removing the door trim and warm up the lock mechanism with a hair dryer shoud fix the problem... well it did not fix it, next morning it was just the same. now after a month of this crap i am going in to the dealer to get the lock mechanism replaced. the hair dryer is a nice thing to get frozen doors open then and there but it did not fix the problem, skoda shoud put a hair dryer under the fueltank lid next to the ice scraper.
