  1. Welcome to the club! The same problem everyone has (different messages on different units depending on SW version) Looks like Škoda 'fixed' it once again, as it is 'investigating' and 'fixing' it for two months now. Happy Škoding!!!
  2. Yes that exactly may be a problem. For reasons of saving money they engaged incompetent team to work on sw side and they messed database loosing linkage Infotainment unit SNs and to paid subscriptions. So they cannot enable usage of paid subscriptions. And because we speak of huge scandal and 100s of millions of euros of money they took, they are struggling to coverup and hope car owners will just give up. You know, from sw point of view this is so trivial functionality even kid from highschool can do in a homework task. Only reason they cannot implement this is if they lost the data to link together. This may even be result of ransomware attack but anyhow it is result of blunt incompetency imho. Owners are not capable nor willing to start law suites, so they will get away with 100 million earning on service they are not providing. I bet some executives will even get big bonus for great profitability on this.
  3. Well this is exactly showcase of how poor is Škoda in software as well as customer care. And not just poor but also criminal. They are stealing money and cheating customers. This is not free option but paid feature and service. They took 50-60 EUR a year from each and every of us, multiply with millions of cars sold a year and you get picture how much money they steal (exact term my lawyer used as it is by definition for taking money and not providing goods or services). This is just a simple software bug, showing they are incapable of doing business in 21st century. All this made me clear in decision not buying Škoda again. It is not cheap nor they have any substantial advantage to competitors in terms of machinery, but in software they are obviously incompetent and far behind. And nowadays software is important as machinery if not more. Just think of how much you can trust their 'assistant' and 'safety' systems when you cannot enter stupid registration code for months? I dare you not test them, just drive carefully with full attention like in good old days where Škoda is obviously living still.
  4. UPDATE: I wrote email directly to Škoda, circumventing their 'support'. Got first meaningful answer for months. We apologise for the inconvenience caused by us. Our Technical team have performed intense analysis on the reported issue and found out that the behaviour is known to us for a few days, it looks like a general issue where other customers are also affected by this issue. Our team is working towards a solution and will notify you as soon as the solution is available. Fingers crossed...
  5. All this is useless. I put a proxy and sniffer to check s network traffic from Infotainment to Škoda servers. Looks like there is timeout on Škoda side. You can notice that even without network monitoring just by fact that error dialog is showing long time after register operation started. So I strongly believe they are incompetent, unprofessional and completely disrespectful to their customers. All this lasts for months now and many customers are affected. So they are more than aware of situation. All instructions they give is just waste of your time. So not only they disregard your problem but they steal your money (as this is paid feature in car price tag plus yearly subscription - and even important feature - I would never buy Škoda if I know it will be offline).
  6. I have exactly the same problem now - after Ill help from Škoda! I contacted Škoda Support regarding other issue using MySkoda app. After 1 MONTH of ping-pong with them, they came out with 'solution' to deregister car from app and user from infotainment and register again. Well that 'solution' now requires passing same issue you other people are facing here. So looks like this is problem on Škoda side and it is general (not single country) and it is prolonged for a month now. We all have payed for that option in pricetag of our vehicle. Plus I paid for yearly subscription. And we are not allowed to use the service. I deem this not only unprofessional (that they cannot fix some software bug for months) but also more than poor businesses practice but even criminal behavior. I contacted my lawyer and he advised me to write then a strong message demanding enablement of the service in full extended ASAP or face charges for breach of contract and also I will sue them for waste of time. I don't think they will react, but I will sue them as my lawyer is sure this is solid case. I see this kind of strong action against Škoda directly is only way around their proven bad service and low concern on customers. I point out 'Škoda directly' as this has nothing to do with dealers as service is by contract and practice sold and provided by Škoda.
  7. Latest update on VW site published last week has maps from - March!!! And Skoda updates come in June each year are the same as these VWs from December which are March maps in fact.... So Skoda updated maps are in fact from March last year, thus 1 year and 3 months old. So no surprise lot of thing are missing or inaccurate. True misery 🤣
  8. Skoda maps are always more than 1 year old relating to current Here maps available online. Yet, WV maps are about 6 months old. And Skod latest (v 1410) are few months older than previous (Nov 19) WV v1430 release. You can use WV maps in Skoda. WV Discover Media is the same as Amundsen. And you get much 'fresher' maps... Which are as I note still half year outdated though... (Yeah I suspect it really takes a 6 months to WV experts to do file copy)
  9. I have Karoq with following Amundsen: Can you provide me with latest 0478 firmware, please? Or point out to where to find/ask Karoq version of it (no FE thread in Karoq section and no-one knows of it)? (I don't know if there are specific vers per car model or it is the same for Karoq as for Octavia and rest)
  10. To fit latest all Europe map, format SD with 32kB allocation unit size. 'Latest' '2020' ver, marked 1310, is based on Here Maps data from December 2018!!! Yes, more than year old... Skoda (and VAG altogether) is misleading (cheating? ah no, it' called 'alternative facts' nowdays) customers with these 'latest' and 'year ahead' naming. But Im so stupid I bought Skoda so why complaining? Happy updating!
  11. You have Amundsen and you can confirm non-Skoda SD card can be used?
  12. Yet even whole EU 1430 is about year old map!!! No matter 'files inside' are dated from September 2019, maps are much older. For instance, I checked some road segments built and opened in June (and I saw them in July on Here Maps web site online, so they have been put into maps) are not in latest VW update 'from September'. I wonder how they are not ashamed... Yet I guess they are making so big money management is fine and customers are happy as noone complaints... So there we are.
  13. Managed to fit latest VW whole EU on Skoda Amundsen 16G SD card! Format SD with fat32 4K allocation unit size!!! Explanation: OEM comes with 32k and as there are thousands very small files (<4k) it is just a waste of space to have 32k allocation unit! So with 4k we are saving some space and it fits...
