  1. It happened to me as well. Were you driving on a very bumpy road? The kind of road where the wheel 'kind of' vibrates going up and down. I even replicated the issue, on the same road, a few times. It is related to the ABS sensors and goes away after you stop and start the engine.
  2. Actually when it is cold outside the air is blown through the windscreen vents (de-misting) and the ones at foot level. Hot outside and the pattern changes, cold air being blown through the vents on the dash, the ones facing the passengers.
  3. It happened to me as well. I also cut myself in that delaminated edge. A trip to the dealer and the knob has been replaced under warranty - I was still under warranty. They did not have the piece in stock so I had to come back 2 days later. It took them approx 30 minutes to fit the new knob. Oh, I forgot, the new piece is definitely a better design. No issues since then ( 1 year ago)
  4. With all electrical consumers shut down, A/C off, my 1.8 TSi burns 0.7 l/h. If it is colder outside I see the idle consumption at 1 l/h. That is with A/C off.
  5. I just got back from the service where I actually attended the 'reset' step and now it displays 22500km and 550 days. I saw with my own eyes the variable servicing interval :(. The guys say that these numbers come directly from Skoda.
  6. I didn't know that, however after plugging it in for reset what the odometer should display?
  7. Hi everyone, I bought my Octavia Mk3 on October 9th 2015. Looking in the infotainment unit I saw I was on 'variable' servicing, meaning 30.000 km and/or 2 years. Looking at that odometer I saw sometimes it decreased faster (1 km driven - 20 km decrease) or slower (1 km driven - 1 decreased) and I totally understand this. However, after the first oil change which occurred at ~22800 km I noticed the odometer being at 24.200 km and 700 days. I called the service and they said this is normal. While I don't consider this a normal answer the amount of kms was OK for me so I havent' continued. Until today's oil change I saw that 1km on that odometer = 1 km driven (odd right ?) . Now, after today's oil change I the odometer was reading 22400 and 500 days. Thinking that this is not normal I tried to reset the interval using the reset button (in the dash, underneath the dials) and to my surprise the oil service odometer now shows 15.000 km and 365 days. My question is: how do I know I am on variable service interval and not the fixed one ? I want to know this before going to the service manager. Thanks.
  8. Have another look on the forum for the 'Overheating' thread. It seems that the coolant pump fails at some point with the same behaviour as you describe. It only happens to diesels if I remember correctly.
  9. In the area you circled in red there is the turbo which gets pretty hot in a few minutes after you start the engine. I would say normal operating temperature for the turbo is above 200 Celsius so the bonnet above should get pretty hot. My 1.8 TSI also steams from time to time but I haven't seen any issue with the paint. It works as expected in my opinion.
  10. Sounds like the turbo is working as expected. I wouldn't worry about it.
  11. Approx 800 rpm with the A/C off. Around 1000 with A/C on.
  12. Considering the acceleration pedal ia either on or off in your case, there are a lot of positions in between though, the fuel consumption is normal. I mean at WOT you're always requesting full power out of the engine. I have the same engine without the 4x4 - hence DSG7 - and with normal driving I get 10-12 l/100 km around town (pretty heavy traffic) and 6-7 l/100 km outside the city. However, when you floor the acceleration, the average immediately goes up even after a 200 km trip. Try and drive it normally and see what happens then go to the dealer/service.
