1.2 tsi coolant temperature issues
Ok so went out on a trip this morning -0.5 here, and heating was "ok" but not the best. Car warmed up as usual, with heating off no worries. But the same happened when I put the heating on above 3 bars in the AC display, guage drops away from 90 (about 2 sections) and then Aircon, although warm, not as it should. The temp will build back to 90 but then drop again. The only temp in the display I have is if course the oil temp, not water temp, whish was reading about 72 which is about right as it was stop start driving and rather chilly out! I'm wondering if a re-gas will help? Never had it done. Any other ideas from anyone? Many thanks again 👍

1.2 tsi coolant temperature issues
Morning, thanks for the reply Do you know what? I never thought to check the MFD when it happens. Got to take it out in a bit so will see what it reads and post back. I initially put it down to being so cold, however even since it's warmed up a bit, it's still doing the same. My Octavia is the same age and, touch wood, hasn't had the same issue, although it's a different engine. The fact that there is heat getting into the car and the engine warming up alright makes me think (or hope!) The thermostat is alright, just seems odd that the temp guage drops..

1.2 tsi coolant temperature issues
Evening all our Skoda rapid 1.2 tsi (2015) has started having a niggling issue with the coolant temperature. ever since the cold snap just before Christmas (in the UK) when we use the A/C (above 3 bars) the coolant temperature gauge drops and the heating starts to blow cooler. The car seems to get up to temperature ok, especially when no heating on. Before the cold snap it was working fine, although it wasnt used for about a week whilst my wife wasn't too well. Any suggestions? Coolant temperature sensor or thermostat possibly? no error codes etc just the temp guage dropping off. mAny thanks in advance 👍

Oil filter cap Octavia 2.0 Tdi
The local dealer had one in stock for just over £20 so gunna grab that! Taa for the tips, whoever's done it before seems to have smashed the o ring and thread with it, it's only ever been serviced by Skoda before! 🙄. Thanks again for all of the help 👍👍🙂

Oil filter cap Octavia 2.0 Tdi
Ok thanks for that, I have been looking for non OEM ones online, but where theu say there £8.99 you then go to the shipping and then they add that on, then factor if you're gunna get charged as it comes from Europe etc and it ends up that anyway! And at least of its a Skoda job it'll hopefully fit! I'll give the local a ring and see what they say. Thanks again for the help and advice, it really is appreciated 🙂

Oil filter cap Octavia 2.0 Tdi
Evening all, so just done my first service on my 2015 Octavia 2.0tdi. it's been done by the dealer's so far in its life, however now we're at the 80000 mole Mark I thought it's time to start doing it myself. So all went well apart from one thing.... As usual! On removing the oil filter cap (part with the 32mm nut to undo and 13mm drain nut) to change the oil filter I noticed that the plastic had cracked around the thread for the 13mm drain plug. It's back on now but that side of the housing has now fallen away! It doesn't seem to be leaking but I'd like to get a new one for safety sake, so a few questions if I may? Does anyone have a part number for the item described? And will Skoda or the like do it on its own? And also when i change it over, am I going to need to drain all of the oil again or can I change the filer without draining the lot? I've included a picture of the offending item!! Many thanks Nick
