  1. I finally fixed my DRL problem and now everything is back to normal. Just for info I replaced the relay 484 by a new one. Thanks for the help.
  2. Thanks for the info. I guess I can disconnect it.
  3. Hi, Does anyone know what this box could be used for? I baught my car 3 years ago from a person I don't have contact anymore. Thanks
  4. I believe this has been installed and that may be the relary or maybe the fuse that comes with it that is not working. https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&nv=1&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://forum.skodahome.cz/topic/49745-modul-denn%25C3%25ADho-sv%25C3%25ADcen%25C3%25AD/&usg=ALkJrhhKjKewYOqjPROvMnGGygzJQWR1_w http://www.cars-equipment.com/www/en/shop/drl-day-running-lights/oem-drl-relay-for-skoda-fabia/ I need to find it but does anyone know how to access without too much trouble the relays? There is a plastoform plate that covers the full leg room below the fusebox. Thanks
  5. Hi, does anyone know how to access relays? I think one needs to be replaced. Thanks http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/378056-drllicence-plate-lights-not-working/
  6. Thank you for your advice and comments. I will keep you posted if I find something.
  7. I have been looking and this is what my setup was. It was the low beam at reduced intensity. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daytime_running_lamp Implementations[edit] Full-voltage vs. reduced-voltage (DRL) operation of low beam headlampon European-market Volkswagen Depending on prevailing regulations and vehicle equipment, the daytime running light function may be implemented by functionally specific lamps, by operating the low beam headlamps or fog lamps at full or reduced intensity, by operating the high-beam headlamps at reduced intensity, or by steady-burning operation of the front turn signals. Compared to any mode of headlamp operation to create the daytime running light, functionally dedicated DRLs maximize the potential benefits in safety performance and minimize fuel consumption, glare, motorcycle masking, and other potential drawbacks.[2] To prevent drivers from using DRL when low beam headlights are needed, some regions require the dashboard lights to be turned off when DRL are turned on.[citation needed]
  8. I bought the car from a particular! I never paid to much attention to the lights that were on with the light switch was on off but I remember the light would be less intense when the switch was in the middle position which is why I believe that it could be the low beam that was always on. Also, I tapped my rear camera to the plate light because they were always on and because the power cable would no have to go al the way up the trunk! Everything was working fine for at least 6 months. I Checked all the fuses and they all are working fine! The left sidelight that was not working and has been behaving strangly because now it works. I'm not sure if the connection was loose and by moving it fixed. I have never disconnected the battery nor had an error light. I guess it is not a big deal since by law my lights have to be on, so it's just a matter of turning the light switch every time but it is rather strange.
  9. I'm not sure if it was a default DLR but they would turn on! I believe the low beams were acting as DLR because when I put the switch in the middle position the lights would become dimmer.
  10. I'm 100% sure since it's the cable that goes straight to the light. I'm not sure which lights used to be on as DRL but I believe it was the low beams. All lights work when I turn them on. Before, as soon as I would turn the key the lights/DRL, plate lights and therefore rear camera would turn on. Now they only work if I turn the light switch on. Really weird! And for info here is a pic. It's got the round fog lights.
  11. My fabia is from december 2007. I am in switzerland and I think it was imported from germany. I don't have access to VCDS. I will post a pic of the front tomorrow. Also, could it be that I deactivated DRL unintentionally (http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/233661-drl-led-lights-modification-to-mk2-pre-face-lift/?p=2744466). I don't think this technique applies for older models. I tried but don't seem to work. Thanks
  12. Here is the sidelight bulb. I still cannot change it as it is very tight. The sidelight/parking light is B (W5W bulb) The reason I know my license lights used to work without turning the lights is because I tapped my rear camera to them and it worked perfectly. Now I have to turn the lights on in order to see the camera. This is why I think it could be a fuse problem. If DRL is not factory on this model how could it be achieved? Could it be located in the fuses at the battery? Also, as in this post (http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/378121-license-plate-ligths-of/?hl=%2Blicence+%2Bplate+%2Blights#entry4437215), my license plate were on with DRL. Thanks
  13. I changed the fuse and still the same! I have a TDI sport edition! The car was not in the garage! I just parked it on Monday morning, all working fine and when I drove it at midday it wasn't working anymore. I'm trying to change the sidelight but it's a pain. I will keep trying. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/107544-how-to-change-sidelights-fabia-ii-roomster/
  14. I checked fuse 17 and it works. If I take it out license plate does not work anymore (with lights on). One think I just realized is the the front left side lamp is not working. Could this be the reason DRL does not work? I will try to replace it tomorrow to see if it fixes the problem. Thanks
  15. Licence plate light used to always work even if light were not turned on! Now they only work when lights are on.
  16. I have a 2007 Skoda Fabia. My DRL where working fine yesterday morning! When I used the car back in the afternoon they were not working anymore! What could be the problem? In my Fabia there is no DRL switch next to the fuse box (Only a hole). The Licence plate lights do not work neither although when I turn the lights on they work. I looked in the manual to check what fuse controls the DRL but there is nothing stated. Thanks for your help.
