To begin with the suspension on my SEL combi with 'Sports suspension' seemed very firm. After 9k miles, you would be hard pushed to notice any difference.
The 17" wheels are probably the biggest cause of any ride harshness and the fact that the tyre pressure figures are high for ecofriendly driving!
Both my Roomster and Fabia started off very firm, but 2-3k miles and that firmness goes. It's just 'newness' of the components.
I am actually doubting any change to the overall spring/damper setup other than a slightly different spring rate dropping the height.
Granted, I haven't driven either model with 17" wheels and without sports suspension.
I demo'd a SE with 16" wheels and standard suspension for an afternoon and other than a bit of tyre roll when pushing on, I agree with the above about telling the difference.
Which, means this is an expensive option for a 15mm lower ride height.

Why no service book?
All kept electronically.
An attempt to lock people into servicing at main dealers I guess?
Not just a Skoda thing. All manufacturers are on it.

So i had to reply on this as i have a weird sound in mine too. My being a right hand drive (UK), i have some noise coming from the left side of the car, around the windscreen pillar, passanger side somewhere, it rattles at any speed over lets say 20mph, and it's annoying.
The actual source of the rattle is still escaping me.
I'm getting exactly this too.. It drives me bonkers!
Can't be a coincidence surely?

Popped in today to enquire about changing my car.
Left shocked just how unhelpful the guy was and the absolute incredible speal of BS that came from his mouth in the following 30 minutes after explaining why I was there.
Just the outright lies about how things work and what needs to happen, even trying to lie about PCP and GFV figures and excess mileage cost they would incur if they settled my PCP!
Basically, scare tactics and an attempt to screw me for price.
I left none the wiser with him having done a check of my car but not being able to give a value as it takes 2 hours to go through it all and I would have to have a test drive.
Having already agreed to allow them to check my PCP settlement figure as I thought this was going to happen whilst I was there.
Turns out the car they are advertising as available which I was interested in already sold last week.
Total wasted journey and time. Well and truly put off.
I suspect a torrent of calls and emails to follow trying to get me back. Will have to keep an eye on my credit records too, as I suspect they will take the liberty to do a credit check..

My SEL Estate did not. As above, I think it is part of the simply clever pack.

Yup, can view images from SD card and via USB. All the images ive tried are .Jpg images.
Try a usb memory stick and see if that works.
Haven't seen any options to set an image as a screensaver.

Blimey the dealers are pushy. I had a call today from the manager confirming my test drive on Saturday. Then he said he'd heard about my flirtations carwow so we'd discuss that too...and after the test drive, he said he assumed I'd then be happy to put down the deposit! PRESSURE! I hate it. (Vent over, sorry!)
I would look at this differently. If he's that pushy, it probably means their sales are down, which could mean you have the upper hand..
As a consumer I personally hate this laid back sales approach. Some dont pull it off well and you dont know where you stand and are left confused.

I was a little disappointed, but not too aggrieved that my SE is a 2015MY (built approx April 2015), therefore no Apple carplay - I have full functionality playing music from my iPhone, using the USB function anyway.
I do still have queries though - I can't find my SD card slot in the glovebox - does it definitely have one?! Also, can I use the USB to view pictures (I do have "Images" on the main menu, but it doesn't seem immediately compatible with the fairly standard JPG files on my iPhone)? If it turns out that I do have an SD card slot, am I more likely to be able to view images using that?
Thanks in advance, Nick.
As above, SD card in glove box.
I can view images using USB from my LG G3.
Comes up with a file browser type menu for me when selecting.
Wouldn't know about iPhone. Been such a long time since I had one. Can you actually file browse via usb on a PC now? This may be the limitation.

Dealer told me week 44 for my mine, estate with 110 engine like yours. Ordered 3 weeks ago. Looking at 14-15 weeks from ordering to delivery. Seems quite a long wait.
I was told the same 4 weeks ago.
I think SUK underestimated the demand for estates and concentrated on building hatches first.
Unfortunately I wasn't in a position where I could wait so went for a specced up SEL that dealer found in stock.
Worked out better in the long run and suited my needs.
Afterall, can always add the the body parts at a later date.. ☺

Yeah a little I reckon 10 mm / 15mm max
Not sure if the monte has different suspension to a se/sel but my SE L with sports suspension is noticeably lower. I would say getting on for 20mm.

best car I had for flexibility, shear space and load carrying
outside was marmite, but inside fantastic
Agree with this! Loving our Roomster.
Being a Black edition helps with the outside appearance imo.
Black with tinted windows also helps disguise the funny shaped window lines somewhat.
My new Fabia as nice as it is just seems a little too normal in comparison.

As above, could be the aircon/cabin fan. Does it do it with the ignition on and engine not running?
Is the car manual or auto and whats the mileage?
Do you have a CD in the headunit?

My wife's roomster is a Nov '64 plate black edition with 1,400 miles.
Usual good 'black edition' spec but with retrofitted OEM bluetooth. Perfect condition.
I'll not bore you with the reasons but we are considering selling it for various family based reasons
What would you guys advise to be a realistic and achievable price to ask for a stress free sale?
List price is somewhere around £8000 trade which realistically is all any dealer will offer.
This would be an auction estimated value. Most would be looking at a £1.5k markup value.
Retail/Forecourt price of around £9500 to £10000. Skoda main dealers would prob be slightly higher.
I paid only a little more for mine 7 months ago new!
That includes the likes of we buy any car, although they will offer you a price then try and screw you down once the car is presented to them.
If you can get a deal with a local trader that would be the least hassle and quickest sale.
Roomster isn't a particularly desirable car as I'm sure you're aware, and the black edition is an 'acquired taste' ontop of a bit of an odd ball.

2 Days old, with a massive 48 miles on the clock! I'm currently getting 47mpg since leaving the dealer and it climbs everytime I get in the car.
I've done about 50/50 town/dual carriage way miles so far and I wouldn't say I've been particularly conservative.
Our Roomster (TSI 105) went from 37ish mpg when new and now does 44/45mpg after 3000 miles on the exact same trips.
So if this newer engine is comparable, I expect low to mid 50's after a couple of k's for my useage.
Oh, and running the air-con drops the average mpg by about 2mpg on the Roomster!
Not exactly sure how the climate control is on the SE L, but I think it's basically on all the time if you have the fans on?
My VW Passat had an ECO mode which balanced the outside air when cooler/warmer to save on the Aircon usage. Not sure the climate on the Fabia has the same option.

Awesome, so 'the_raz', what's your average mpg like in the 110? Is it worth going for a diesel (that question's open to anyone)! And 'bluecar', thanks for the 'extras' run down, I will take heed of all of your pointers.

Nice! Love these..
I very nearly bought one albeit an estate, but when it come down to it, for my needs the SE L with some options was a better deal.
I was convinced if I bought one I wanted to add the 17" wheels from looking photos online.
All the photos I've seen of people posting seem to make the wheels look to small, like trolley wheels with the car top heavy.
However, once I got my hands on one and everytime I've seen on since, it never seems as obvious when I've stood looking at the at them in person.
Maybe it's colour related.

Bridgestone Potenza on mine. I do have the 17" Wheel upgrade
Very happy with them.
Certainly better than the Continental Sport Contact 2 on the Roomster!

Collecting next week, arrived at dealers today!
1.2tsi (110) SEL Estate
Moon white
17" Clubber alloys
Sports Suspension
Sunset Glass
Spare wheel
Picked her up today! Very happy..
Little disappointed about the poor attempt at cleaning it for handover!
I accepted that it was never going to be to my very high standards, but after all the excellent service I've had, this just demonstrates laziness..

Fabia Monte Carlo with 17" or Sports Suspension?
in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
Posted
Perhaps not softer just a bit less 'sting' or harshness on the initial bump from new.
