    I will for sure.

The fact that one can start heating/cooling and open/lock the car is worth it alone.

We can not do remote heating in the UK, and Remote unlock/lock only works on cars purchased after November 2018.

My car is a mid November 2018 model, and i can not use remote lock function, only flash and honk.

  2. I am having a few issues with the 'very rude' owners of Superskoda.

I like the look of a few bits on there website, however a lot of the desciptions state ""NOT for Sportline Models""

HOWEVER the photos show the items fitted to 280 Sportlines.

When i email them, asking to confirm. i just get sent  ""NOT for Sportline Models"".

    Anybody else had issues?

    For example http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/SUPERB-III/Superb-III-rear-bumper-DTM-center-diffusor-GLOSSY-BLACK

Reminds me of when I planned a complicated route. Stopped for lunch. When I restarted, the satnav remembered the route, but wanted to take me back to the start. The only way I've figured to work around it is to plan the route and make each scheduled stop along the way a separate destination. A PITA, but it works.

But, to answer your question, I think the car is supposed to remember the last destination for an hour before it "forgets"/resets.

See that makes no sense lol, it should remain with the destination until you arrive, or cancel it.

I have just been to Isle of wight, and im there again Saturday, and the satnav forgot the route once i was on the ferry..........so i thought 'okay' when i get back in the car and about to debark ill set it to where i need to go on the island....................NOPE.

Satnav thought i was in the middle of nowhere, so would not find a route, i had to drive 10 mins onto island, pull over then input again, once it has found where i was...........needless to say id gone 10 mins the wrong direction haha.

  4. Does anybody else have issues with the SatNav forgetting the route and destination if you for example, 'Stop for a P*ss'.?

Everytime i get back in the car, i have to manualy set my destination again, really annoying.

Of course thats after ive reset my passenger mirror after i reverse parked into a bay.............some times it goes back up if i drive forward, sometimes it don't lol

  5. No way im going to lower mine lol, the front bumper is at too much risk of grounding.

I lowered my vRS Octo estate, and had to drive it very carefully, anyform of steep ramp, car lift, multistory was a complete ball ache!

The sportline superb sits lower standard, than my Octo did on 25mm Eibachs

Looks good to me, cheers JR, did you have to get you're radar recalibrated upon sticking bumper back on?

@VelocityVinnie we may bump into each other, although I hope not literally, that would be a travesty.

The red one up at doncaster, yes tempted, not deposited that one though.

There is a black estate non-dcc one in Bury ( sharing my intel now as I can't find it online )

A few L&K' estates too all lurking in that 28k 31k window.

I only need an octavia estate, so in the superb a hatch is enough and I slightly prefer it to the estate. There are more about mind, I also had the last superb in hatch and did like it... the back seat is big enough for the dog. ( that's a whole new topic, heck maybe even forum, given it will cost more than the car ;) )

The 4x4 badge on the boot is tricky as a lot of the diesel line carry them too.  Including my mates 150d 4x4 ;)

I've been trying to do a deal with bickertons/rainworths but they only have one estate in, it has dcc and that's the lot...  Spent a large part of the afternoon trying to decide if I want dcc. Sufficiently wasted enough time for the dealership to close. Concluded that I can live without it, what I don;t know and all that... if it was a golf R or something more... sensitively put, sevelt or dainty, then maybe.  Predictable outcomes I think is the phrase. I think I want to swap the wheels for some 17/18's anyway. I managed fine on an octavia mkI 4x4 :D once the roll stops you know it's going to turn.

Onh in the end, I had said no to them... despite a substantial off last minute, deal... went for a quick pootle and realised I think I meant yes. Will have to see if I still mean yes by the morning :D

Decisions take me a while, despite my malleable putty like behavior in the presence of car salesmen.

When i was looking there was only 3 estates in the country in the Skoda network, my Black, the Red one in Donny (which i looked at) and a silver one way down south.

I need an estate for work, but i would have defo gone for a Hatch over the barge if work aloud.

Saying that the Barge still looks sleek, its not boxy looking.

Had loads of nice glances and comments about it, since collecting.

  8. There is plenty of Hatches, my dealer has a few in, but not Estates.

I have only ever seen one other on the road, and thats an unpainted estate in Sheffield, but i don't know if its a 280, although it does state 4x4 on the back, there is no other way of telling what engines in it.

To be honest, they also said the car i traded in, a MK2 Octavia vRS Petrol estate, was also getting super rare, and there was only 2 in the UK on Auto trader when i chopped it in..........got a great PX for it too considering its milage.

  9. Ive just bought a 68 plate 272 estate in Black Magic, it had done 9k, and cost me 26k with sweet talks ha.

Mines a standard Sportline, with no DCC, or the added gadgets of an L&K, but i found it incredibly hard to find an estate in the top spec, my dealer told me it was incredibly rare, So i bought it haha.

To be honest i love the car, and i dont miss the added the features an L&K brings, if anything its less to go wrong. Not having the DCC for me is not that much of a biggie, as i will mod it in due course, and the standard setup is more than adequate when you push through the twisties. Also the sportline is still a little lower than the standard models.

I did look at a Red estate, that was near me........im based in Notts, so im guessing it was the one linked on here, but when i went to view, it was pending sale, and had a deposit on it, so i had to go buy the black one.

I did not want a black car, but when i seen it parked up in the sun, it looked amazing!..............deal done lol

Id also recommend Rainworth at Mansfield, Simon was great to deal with.

    Now, you see that's odd.

I had an HTC 10 before this and that was fine. I also had a OnePlus 3t as a work phone and that worked perfectly too.

It wouldn't surprise me if the phone manufacturers were clowning about with the device settings unnecessarily.

Yep my old HTC 10, still works, my newer one wont. However i had an aftermarket headunit in my Octavia II, and it worked on that fine????

The Superb sits on the "MQB Chassis" so all the discs and brake upgrades from the VW Golf R (mark 7 or 7.5) fit the Superb 280.  A good place for discs, pads and big brake conversions is Vagbremtechic.  It is the brake company arm of Awesome GTi and owned by the same person.  This will give you lots of info on what fits from just upgraded discs, to bigger discs and 4 or 6 pot calipers.

Another favourite of mine is Racingline.  They have just brought out a 6 pot caliper and floating disc, ok this is up at the higher end but they have a cheaper 4 pot caliper and disc conversion as well.  Comes highly regarded in the VW Golf R tuning scene.

    https://www.vagbremtechnic.com/

When my car warranty runs out next year I shall be upping the power with a Racingline stage 1 map to 350 to 370bhp.  Other add on's required as well to get the true benefit.  DQ250 6 speed gearbox can take allot more.  Well proven in the VW tuning circle.

Brakes, don't know yet, probably Racingline as I have seen them up close and they are stunning quality. Nothing wrong with Brembo, AP Racing or Alcon etc.

I won't be tracking the car of course, but its a heavy old beast and you can never have too much stopping power.😉

Thanks for that ill have a good read through, im also waiting until November until i do anything, the car will still be in warranty, as it will be a year old then, but ill just have to take the hit if anything goes wrong.

In terms of power, can the 7 speed box, take more than the 6, or is it the other way arround?

  12. I do find it a little big if im trying to park in a supermarket, i am sure bays are getting smaller!!

I do struggle sometimes with reverse parking into tight spaces or garages, which is not helped by having a DSG as any slight incline or curb (even dropped curbs) the car wont role, i have to give it revs which sometimes disengages the clutch, so have to give it some beans, so it darts backwards, so i have to be uber careful at times.

Also Parallel park on narrow streets, is hard i find, as is getting out of them, if somebody has not given you enough space infront and behind.

The main thing that bothers me, is that YES it is a large car, but for some reason compared to my MK2 Octavia estate, the boot space seems a lot less, as its very much narrower, and not much longer, and of course not a flat load with seats down, even after faffing to get the head rests out with a screwdriver??? Who da funk, implemented that idea??

Also the lid on the centre console arm rest is toooo ****ing long!, have you tried getting anything out of it whilst moving?? you have to lift it with ya elbow, the contort ya arm to reach in, then try putting it down with ya elbow again!, oh and the memory seat buttons, is like trying to find the Mr's Sweet spot hahaha.
