  1. All done Total bill £740 + labour. Best buy was the bonnet - original £100
  2. The a/c still had full pressure so it's one job i want to avoid if possible. I'm unlikely to sell on as i run my cars into the ground usually. I'm just looking to continue use of an excellent vehicle that i know and trust. Just added a couple of extra bits to the list and found a black original bonnet for £100! Total cost for parts now with post £908. Thanks for the tips
  3. Guys, what is the description of the metal plate that runs along the top of the radiator surround, pictured here, please? Slam bar?
  4. Front off no damage to chassis - the front rail took some of the impact and the other car just rode over it. Shopping list: - Bonnet - Wing - Light cluster - Bumper - Radiators (not a/c) - Grill - EGR Valve
  5. It looks horrendous. But it wasn't fast, air bags didn't deploy and the damage appears to be one wing, bonnet, lights and radiator. £1000 parts at least. The car has been excellent and it'll be £3k to replace. Interested in everyone's thoughts.
  6. Just written to them to ask for it to be put back to where it was
  7. Just done a 200 mile round trip. Drove carefully and achieved 63 mpg whereas I was previously achieving consistently over 72 mpg
  8. Got mine back last Friday. Free umbrella and mug and diary and a fancy video message about tyres. It is certainly NOT the car I took in. Mine 2011 Skoda 2.0l was amazingly response and had a sense of urgency that I thought was a pleasant surprise when I bought it 12 months ago. It outdrove any other 2.0l I had used (I am a frequent user of hire cars and owned a Vauxhall with a 2.0l engine for 10 years before this). The lease company that owned it before me simply said the previous driver was 'involved in security'. They wouldn't expand. Mine now drives how I would expect a 2.0l diesel of this size to drive. It was nice whilst it lasted
  9. Well I have had the engine 'fixed' by the local Skoda dealership. Although it still drives well that 'urgency' has disappeared and it drives no more responsively than other 2l diesels I have driven. It was nice whilst it lasted
  10. Just washed the Superb. Of course you can't lift the wipers when washing so the 'park' position enables this! Thanks, guys
  11. I know, it's greedy of me to ask two ;-) Are the wipers supposed to, occasionally, Park themselves vertically? What did I do the other day? I was locking or unlocking the car and all windows opened by an inch or two. What was this? Still seriously impressed with this car!
  12. Peter - I was checking out tyre prices at blackcircles.com and was surprised at how cheap they are at the moment. I work in the 'port so will keep an eye out for the estate!
