I see a fair few around me in Sheffield.

plenty of Colour Editions like mine (due to the £169 deposit £169pm no doubt)

Nobody ever waves though, like when I had a vRS.

Guess it’s just a sensible car choice, and not enthusiasts

Too true. I used to find fellow mk1 vrs on the motorway, wave and form a convoy.

  2. Interesting. Mk1 vrs just gone. Now with a colour edition. Every day i think about moving to a golf gti/r, Hyundai n, Seat. The mk3 still fits in my garage so i can keep it rust free. Every car is getting bigger and bigger. Polo is what the golf used to be. But a mk3 vrs does not have to be polo gti. Surely it could have a 2.0 tsi. And it needs the after market. My vrs went stage 1 and i never regretted it. Akrapovic exhausts, remaps, suspension kits....all good. Give me 200hp. And...maybe...make it a driver's car. No cruise, front assist, parking cameras, seatbelt warnings. Give us a bit of respect. Ok. Make them options we can ask not to have. Do not make the Fabia any bigger. We can get a rapid or octavia for that. Are you listening to you huge customer base?

  3. So I've had mk1 vrs for 103k miles and felt tied to the brand when I had to let it go. I have a new 1.0 mk3. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice car. Front assist has kicked in twice on left turners. If I slow down too much on a turner I then have zero power to accelerate again and am a considerable danger to those behind me. Front assist kicking in is in itself a danger to others behind ironically. Furthermore, I do actually enjoy and appreciate the responsibility afforded me when I drive. Financially I'd prefer not to go to an octavia or to a hot hatch brand which Skoda seem to have resigned themselves from, even giving easy ground  to Seat. The Leon is now too big; the Ibiza is a toy. The mk3 is a great shape and seems ripe for a tweak. Lower, stiffer, body kit, and as a must something bigger than a 1.4. 2.0tfsi please. Maybe call it a Fabia vrs?

  4. Loz,

as people above me have said, talk to john and he should sort you out. I've had my hybrid pd150 mapped by him and its awesome to drive

Have a look at my sig below, it contains my full spec (apart from the LSD which isn't strictly required) mines a good base spec for the 200-220hp mark

Thanks for the advice...my vrs is going in soon.

  5. I have a Shark stage 1 on my 2003 VRS. Great economy but not sure the turbo is boosting correctly. Anyhow, I'm now ready to give my vrs some new parts and take it to stage2. Am I right in thinking new/bigger intercooler and air intake pipe, replacement DMF clutch, new flat panel air filter, new pads for brakes (can't upgrade size as I use winter wheels in...winter), Miltek exhaust. Anything else I'm missing that will make a difference?

    Thanks,

    Adrian.

  6. Hello, I have been the proud owner of a black Fabia Mk1 vrs since I took delivery back in 2003. 88.5K miles on the road and still running well - now with black powder-coated wheels. As part of a solid mid-life crisis (also ride a Yamaha FZ1), I had a stage 1 re-map yesterday by the excellent Shark performance team in Mansfield.

So I'm on the road to learning more - about engines, replacements, upgrades etc. I will have questions and welcome any advice as to how to keep my vrs looking good and driving well.

    Adrian.
