  1. thanks lads, god knows coskev! im going to get her up on the stands tomoz and gunna try the usual tests then try what the lads say. praying to mar that its only the sliders on both sides but since its both ns and os not confident that it is!!! :peek:
  2. Cheers lads!!! If it is the servo os it easy to change out??
  3. Anybody??????? ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
  4. Hi guys/girls, ok vrs mk 1 failed mot on quite a few things, most are easy fixes for me except for one... front brakes are binding on both sides??? Has anyone had this problem them selves who could give me advice?? Not sounding daft but I know about greasing up sliders with silicone grease and copper greasing the guides for the brake pads but I've read somewhere about it could be the brake servo if so is it a common fault??? and is it easy to get to or is it a garage job any advice, guides or help would be fantastic! oh and hand brake has travel too but knew that as I can lift it completely up but i have bought new cables for both sides so will loosen off the sized side and refit both accordingly.. tia Lee
  5. Hi Guys Fabia vRS sat in Ludlow!, having a similar issue with mine. fill the washer bottle up then don't use it for a few days or what ever as i've not been well of recent then i get the nice little warning light. hoping its just a popped off hose near the bottle as both front and rear washer work when it been filled???
  6. Lol I know what you mean! I have done mine now it's not that difficult, what you need to do is drill out the rivets so you can remove the oem speaker, unclip the speaker then prise it off gently. You will be left with four rivets Still in the holes, cut these down with a multi tool so they where flush and just tapped them out with a rubber mallet. Once that's done I mounted mine with foam around the edge of the adapter so that side sat against the bare metal, I then got some M6 x 20 bolts with nuts and bolted the adapter on with some M5 washers and lock tight. I will be honest in my opinion they sound ****e everything distorts in the door now so I am saving up for some sound deadening it really is a must as it can bang them up because both the doors rattle, need to do sub area too as that's doing the same lol
  7. Mine popped off on Saturday, lugs proper sheared I am lucky enough to have a diy boost pipe that I had bought for me at chirstmas got the clamps today so as soon as better weather is in in fit it. Look at pinned post for diy boost pipe!
  8. hi gewstarr how did you manage to mount the rings?? i know about taking out the rivets ect ect but how did you get the rings to sit ie did you use a tiny self tapping screw and go in to the four holes in the ring and bolt it down or did you use a long screw and bolt through the top???
  9. Not sure if u have done this yet?? I've just done mine they are 4" drivers you need.handy tip, there are no adapters for the rears either, you will need to separate the wires two to each block and marry the corrosponding wires together ie blue/white to blue/white and brown white to brown white, the wire on the drivers side are a different colour but same principle! Took me awhile to figure out lol
  10. Never mind I've sorted it now! Had the positive and negatives together I never separated them lol all working as they should!
  11. HI guys and girls, bought some new speakers to go with my shiny new kenwood double din dab, front and rears to go in but too wet to messing around with the fronts so i thought rears will suffice for now. installed the new speakers into the sides of the parcel shelf holders hooked them up but no sound, there was sound before with the old ones but there were blowing, i used these adapters but no sound so chopped off the connectors and went wire to speaker... no sound, i have tried the head unit too by switching it to rears and left and right to no avail does anyone know where i might be going wrong???? i have also tried one of the front speakers i bought too to see if the rears i bought where faulty but again no sound any help would be grateful tia peeps!!
  12. Just a quick update, head unit is now installed found a thread on the speakers so as soon as it stops pouring down I will do them, thanks guys for ya insight!
  13. It's weird as the adapter fits but there's no sound, i think the adapters are dodgy tbf, ill have a look to see if I can find oem style ones if no its a bucket and spade job lol. gunna try again tomoz to put the cage in for the stereo it's like it's slightly to big?? I got the cage in when I bent it all up but couldn't get the unit in after as there is four lugs on the inside of the cage 2 at the tip 2 at the bottom,so when trying to push the stereo in its catching then as the cage is bent up at the bottom should have tool at posted picks really, gunna pull it out in a bit as I'm not leaving it in like that over night lol
