  1. I ran a 2.0l TDI DSG Se-l Executive Estate for 6,350 miles over 6 months at a true average of 49.16 mpg as calculated by Road Trip app. (Best 52.88 mpg, worst 45.65 mpg.) My present 150BHP 1.4 TSI DSG with the same specification has averaged 43.33 mpg over 12330 miles over 12 months (best 47.44 mpg over 718 miles in Summer, worst 38.61 mpg over 554 miles in Winter) As expected the diesel is more economical at almost 6mpg advantage ie 14% which probably means my exclusive use of Shell V Power, both diesel and petrol, is not cost effective, but i like to think that the other "benefits" of the premium fuel will be worth it in the long run. My preference is the petrol for all sorts of reasons including guarding against increased capital loss on resale of car I bought outright but principally the smooth running and quietness of the petrol engine. This is my 3rd car with a DSG gearbox and no way would I go back to a manual even though MPG may be marginally improved but as we all appreciate depreciation is the biggest expense in car ownership. Whatever your choice, enjoy the Superb!
  2. My September 2016 Superb SE-L has only Driver's memory seat. L&K spec may be different of course.
  3. This link shows the alternatives http://www.theskodashop.co.uk/category/New_Superb_2016__/Boot_Mats___Estate,b.html I bought the double sided mat for my Estate but it seems you are suggesting a tray
  4. Thanks BillyJim but that method doesn't work on the MY17. so I'm afraid they have messed it up!
  5. I have the 1.4tsi DSG Estate-dry clutch and all, having owned for 10 years a VW Passat 2.0l DSG diesel with the 6 speed wet clutch. That car is still going strong after 130k miles. Let's hope the dry clutch unit does as well in the Superb I specified your first four options plus the colour maxidot and paddles and all have been useful. You can also choose to have the boot cover retract half-way by ticking the option in the car menu although you may prefer to leave it unretracted.
  6. My recently delivered (September) MY17 Superb only shows a table of the following POI's, namely Petrol, Restaurants and Parking whilst my previous MY16 Superb3 delivered with the wrong engine in March 2016 showed the full selection of Categories chosen by the driver. I have put a call in to the supplying dealer and they are clearly puzzled by what appears to be a retrograde step in the software. It is obviously useful to be able to pre select a route to a Hotel, Museum, Golf Course etc from the displayed table, but that doesn't seem possible. I do not need to have them displayed on the map but do any members have a workaround to display a full table of selected categories, or am I missing something! I have ticked the required categories and they will display on the map, which personally I don't need, but they don't show in the table displayed on the Columbus when hitting the POI button. Has anyone any suggestions to solve this issue?
  7. Thanks for the immediate response Rainmaker. Yes, I have ticked the required categories and they will display on the map, which personally I don't need, but they don't show in the table displayed on the Columbus when hitting the POI button

  9. I have posted my previous post from 16th April "Travelled from Nottingham to Hawkestone Park Golf Club last week, in NORMAL mode, well laden with two golf bags and two trolleys and one passenger using ACC set at 73mph (true 70mph) where road conditions and speed limits allowed. Some more rural roads nearer the venue after the A50 dual carriageway. Maxidot showed 49mpg on way there and 60mpg with ECO set on return journey. Brim to brim experience over 3 fills shows Maxidot about 3 mpg optimistic as was the case with my previous VW. Passat 2.0TDI. The driving characteristics are very different in that when I cancel ACC the speed hardly drops in what I assume is "Coasting Mode". This suits my usual driving style as I normally drift up to junctions, standing traffic etc. rather than braking hard. I will test again on a long run to ascertain whether this was a one-off. Certainly, I was happy driving in ECO mode which I appreciate may not suit the press-on guys who work for a living! In around 8 weeks my 1.4 TSI DSG Estate will arrive and I will hand back the wrongly supplied 2.0 TDI DSG. I hope I enjoy the Petrol as much as I enjoy the Diesel!" Quote MultiQuote

  11. I was interested to read Surperbian's comment re using the right hand scroll wheel to zoom the map. I use mine for scrolling and selecting but have not been able to zoom the map. What am I doing wrongly?
  12. Whilst awaiting a June delivery of my original order of 1.4 TSI Se-L Executive DSG Estate, I am driving the wrongly supplied 2.0l Diesel DSG delivered for 1st March. The dealer ordered the wrong engine! This should allow me to make an accurate comparison between the 1.4tsi and 2.0l diesel in exactly the same spec otherwise. I filled up with Shell normal diesel today having covered 722 miles from new and used 13.89 galls (63.14 L) which I calculate to be 52 mpg. I am sure this will improve once the "running in" period is over. Driving is steady and has included 150 miles of Motorway journeys as well as more local runs adhering to national speed limits in the main. Once I have delivery of my 1.4TSI then I will resume the policy of using Shell Nitro Plus unleaded. I may have fallen for the marketing hype but my 2.0l diesel Passat DSG was latterly fuelled with Shell Nitro Plus Diesel with a consequent increase in MPG (about 5%)
  13. Ordered 1.4TSI SE-L DSG Estate in Business Grey on 3rd November and told by my supplier of a 14 week wait. Pleasant surprise today to be advised my car is at the dealers and will be trailer delivered to my home as requested on 1st March with16 plate. 13 weeks from order. Options added were Beige Leather (it was available then), Heated Screen and nozzles, DSG Paddles, Spare wheel, front parking sensors, Rear View Camera and Colour Maxidot. Ordered floor mats from Supaskoda and two sided boot mat from Skodashop
  14. Hi Mike These are the comments I posted under Beige Interior DRCS, on 12 Dec 2015 - 15:16, said: It seems my worries are unfounded. I contacted my supplier today to be informed that he believes Skoda are concerned that too many customers are ordering the SE-L rather than the L&K. so they have removed the option of Beige Leather on the SE-L but retained it on the L&K hopefully to increase sales of the latter. As the option was current when I ordered in early November, he states my SE-L will have Beige Leather. I am reassured and hope others are also. Quote MultiQuote
  15. Hi Mike I have previously posted my thoughts on this issue on the "Beige Leather" topic but just to check I've just done a dummy configuration and could only achieve Alcantara Beige. I have copied the screen below not very satifactorily for easy viewing but will try to tidy up before posting Overview Model Superb Estate SE L Executive Trim Level £26,820SE L Executive Engine 1.4 TSI 150 PS DSG Exterior £535Business Grey metallic £018" Zenith alloy wheels Interior Beige upholstery Extra Equipment £0Alcantara/leather upholstery ŠKODA Care Options £0ŠKODA Roadside Assistance Recommended OTR £27,355
