I am interested in owner’s experiences of the power from various Karoq engines. I had a brief test drive in a manual 1.5, yesterday but didn’t get the chance to properly test the acceleration. I’ll probably buy a 15 Edition DSG if available or a 2.0 diesel Edition DSG, but would welcome feedback as I have owned a 2.0 FSI Octavia L&K for 11 years and worry that the new engines will offer lower performance.

I am in the fortunate position of being able to afford most cars in the sensible money range. I have owned a 07 plate 2.0 Octavia FSI L&K since new, but now want an automatic, a bit more power and space. I am also not as agile as before so a Karoq or Audi Q5 are possible. i am confused by petrol v diesel, particularly with regard to power when overtaking. Clearly the Audi is more expensive than Karoq, but if power is good I’m not so fussy. Dealers don’t seem very helpful. Of course they just want to sell a car.

Do you guys tend to buy from main dealers of go the online route?

Hi, I have been a dormant member for a few years, but was struggling to log-in, so created new account. I have and love my 07 Octavia 2.0 FSI L&K. I am considering the new Octavia L&K and have a question about the engines. A Skoda salesman considers that there is hardly any performance difference in the 1.4 and 1.8 TSI DSG engines and whether to have diesel or petrol is purely a personal decision. I do about 8k a year, but like the power and smoothness of my current engine. The main reason I want to change, is to make it easier for my wife to drive, using the DSG.
