  1. silver1011. Did you have to secure the dashcam cable that you have running down inside the A pillar trim? Wondering whether it would rattle around in there or later shift position to get in the way of the airbag.
  2. Thanks. Those clips do look like they could snap easily so good call with the spares 👍 although I am getting second thoughts now 😄
  3. Hi Silver1011. After your play around with the A-pillar trim, do you have any tips on how to take it off completely without braking any clips? Is it just a matter pulling it off from top to bottom?
  4. Sorry to hear you got a bad experience with them too. What went wrong with your Karoq?
  5. I had a long list of quality issues from new which the dealer couldn't solve. After some months I could take it no more and decided sell it back to the dealer at a BIG loss. It's a long story with lots to share. For now I'll focus on Skoda customer service in the hope someone in my position finds it useful. My lesson learnt number 1. Don't get any hopes that they can do anything to help you. You may then ask what is the purpose of their existence - perhaps the answer lies somewhere between hope and illusion. They will point you back to the dealer or help you drop an email to a dealer if you're not getting a response. They use a 3 strike policy. They first wait 48 hours for a reply. In 48 hours if they hear nothing, they will drop another email and wait another 48 hours. If again they hear nothing then that's when they might pick up a phone to call the dealership. If the dealer does reply on attempt 2 with a blank email or one to say they'll come back 'soon' then they consider that a breakthrough moment - very much like the one when Thomas Watson heard his boss Alexander Graham Bell on the telephone for the first time. Anyhow too bad for the customer as we are now back at strike 0. You're probably thinking these must be 'bots' that can't identify when they are being taken for a ride but these are actually humans on the other end - or at least sounded very convincingly like one on the phone If anyone in London has any use for these Karoq accessories then just message me. 1. All weather rubber mats for front, back and the rear tunnel. 2. LED boot light on the right hand side of the boot. Note that the torch on the left is already LED but the one on the right is not (at least not on standard SEL trim and below). Not sure about edition. This original LED replacement is a lot brighter. 3. Air vent covers below the driver and front passenger seat. By default for some reason all karoqs have them left open for crap to go in or out.
  6. I've got a set of all weather mats for the front, rear and rear tunnel that I used for a few months and no longer need - if you live in London.
  7. I'll make sure to cancel it the next working day to incur minimal charges. Thanks!
  8. Thanks @womanofkent @Doogle69 @33q Do they tell you what the max deposit that you can put down is or is that upto you?
  9. I've never done PCP before but the option of paying off within 14 days sounds appealing and I'm considering a new car at the moment. Sorry these are really basic questions. 1) I assume I would first find the dealer that offers the best price for the car. 2) When they ask for the term of contract, mileage and deposit amount - does what you choose matter here if you're going to pay it off immediately? Does it influence the price of the car that the dealer would quote? Advice anyone? Thanks.
  10. @Skoffski I think you've been fortunate to have met a good master tech in your motoring life to give them the credit. The one at my local dealer is yet to figure out or solve a single issue from the list I gave them and the car is still sitting there. My experience with Skoda retailers or repairer is they don't like to spend time figuring out a problem. Their dream would be to get a case where e.g. they see something really obvious like a door has fallen off, they screw a door back on and the customer thinks they've performed a miracle. Give them something that needs proper investigation and hard work and they would rather you bring that curse somewhere else. The impression I get from the way they operate is you give the master tech a list of issues, the master tech makes a best guess and tells another technician to do X for issue 1 and Y for issue 2 etc and that technician tells the customer service person who holds the phone - 'all done'. Customer service person then calls the customer to say your car is ready for collection sir. Customer asks has what you tried fixed the problem and then you get a run down of what they did. Then you repeat the question again did it fix the problem and there's no answer.
  11. Alright thanks. Mine does it infrequently that I keep missing the moment to capture it on video. So wondering if it's worth mentioning it to the them on the next visit.
  12. @Caledonia Did replacing the rear pads solve your problem?
  13. Here is how mine sounded. Turned the steering into a full lock and I went in circles at a car park. After doing a few left and right full locks and circles it went away and I could no longer reproduce it. This was 2 weeks ago and I haven't heard it since then while manoeuvring in and out of parking spots with full locks.
  14. Haven't paid particular attention to the turning circle. The previous car I drove was longer so I thought anything shorter would be an improvement. Berisford - Finally to gauge if it's normal behaviour. I was testing the steering wheel in a car park while crawling forwards. Full lock to the left then to the right etc. Ignoring the tyre sounds from the outside with windows up, the steering is smooth until it goes through the last small section of the full turn when I would feel some gentle vibrations fed back to me. Not sure if that is when the tyre noise starts feeding back to the steering wheel. Do you notice anything like that?
  15. While on the topic on the Bridgestone Turanzas. Does everyone with the Bridgestones get noisy tyre rubber gripping the ground sounds when you crawl forwards/backwards (like parking) with the steering fully turned and locked?
