Ok hopefully this is now sorted! Sunroof drain was my first check and they appeared clear. Evidently it wasn’t fully clear. Today got a large drip on my head after heavy rain. When checked again it wasn’t clearing, cleared some gunk out and water trickled through the drain, went at it again and a deluge of dirty brown water came flowing through!!! Pic shows what splashed from drain onto door! Fingers crossed that’s it sorted

Double checked the door seal, assume the carpet around sill would be damp too, no signs of splits etc in seal.

It’s all at drivers side so could be the bung around the bonnet cable. Doesn’t seem to be coming through door seal or the plastic behind. Cheers again for siggestions 👍

Cheers for tips! Which bung in scuttle? I was for taking scuttle cover off but wiper arm was too tight on spindle and didn’t have a puller. 🙄

Drivers side footwells on my vrs have been gathering water. The sunroof drain was the culprit before but this seems fine. There was some gunk Under scuttle but I poured some water in it and it’s draining as it should 🤷🏻‍♂️ Mate wet vacced it for me and carpet seemed fairly dry near sills, all on front and rear footwell. Any help gratefully accepted!!! Can anyone think of another likely source?

Battery connected for 48hours now and it’s still starting fine so 🤞 that’s it sorted!

Regulator on alternator was knackered, £20 odd for a new one, now charging the battery at 14.4 on idle and only drops to 14 under load of heater lights etc. Hopefully be able to test over next few days and see if it helps the drain or if something else behind that!!

Cheers, didn’t think the interval was so short. I’ve the car 10years and it didn’t seem like that long ago I changed it! It needs done soon then.

Hi folks, just wondering what the recommended interval is for changing the belt? Mine seemed fresh enough to me but I checked and it was 7years and 20k miles ago it was last done. It got a genuine belt and water pump at the time. Cheers 🍻

Haven’t had chance to get this looked at again, been disconnecting the battery if parking for more than a few hours and had no issues for around 4weeks! Just an absolute pain .

Yeah I’d charged the battery, new battery is grand, I’d say the old one is grand too have been charging it as a back up. New one is the exact same as the old one. If battery light doesn’t come on until really low then alt could be my issue then 👍 charging battery enough until it’s under load then zapping it.

Latest installment: battery flat Thursday, jumped and took a good drive for 25mins. I’ve used for work and moved about over weekend but disconnected battery at night and it’s been grand. Used aircon on way to work today just to see if it made a difference and when I came out after work (sat for 7hours) it hadn’t enough to turn engine so had to jump it. Wasn’t complete flat. Couple of thoughts…, Would the alt not functioning properly and aircon being on for 10min or so be enough to drain battery a fair bit? Would the aircon maybe not be shutting off properly and draining it?

It’s all standard. The multi-changer doesn’t work so I disconnected that a few days ago

Was totally flat yesterday, jumped it and drove around 20-30mins. Started no worry’s after. Disconnected overnight and started no issues this morning, sat outside work for over 6hours connected and was grand when I was leaving. I’ve not been using aircon or radio past couple days though.

Yep double checked it’s on with ignition and off when starts

As far as I remember yeah, it definitely doesn’t stay on. That was puzzling mate as would expect to be on if alternator dodgy, or does it not to be totally bingod?

Had to boost again today totally flat. Mate checked with multimeter, reading 13.8 then when put lights and blower on drops to 12.9, plugged in and showing a charging fault too, reckons alternator the issue, but battery light not coming on, anyone experienced a similar issue?

My 2002 battery had been quite flat just over a week ago, started with booster pack took it a drive and it was fine for a few days. Left it a day without using and completely flat this time, no display and wouldn't unlook even. Fitted a new battery (the old one was at least 10yr old as it's been in it as long as I've had the car) on Monday and used for work for the rest of the week and all grand again. I didn't use it yesterday and when I came out this morning it was totally flat again......no dash display etc. Something is obviously draining it, are there any common faults go tos? Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know how rerivetting/screwing them back together fixes them, is it just that they're sealed again? This might be worth a try first

Are the pattern part ones ok? I'm the sort would rather have it there if it's meant to be there, but if a pattern part is going to fail after a few months a delete maybe the better option? Mine has under 90k miles on it and I'm thinking any being broken would probably have more and likely not much life left in them??? Cheers for help and advice!

Ok so it's looking like it's the secondary air pump that's the issue. I priced a genuine one and it's silly money. Has anyone used a spurious one that was ok.........................or gone done the road of a delete and remap?

Have an intermittent EML light. Mechanic read these codes when servicing 16795 - Secondary Air Injection System incorrect flow detected P0411 - intermittent 17705 - Pressure drop between turbo and throttle valve P1297 - Intermittent o2 sensor (genuine) and some of the breathers were replaced last year. Hoping someone will know what's likely at fault here before starting to replace things unneccessarily. Cheers in advance 😀
