Not sure if this related but my dealer told me about a recall a couple of months ago about the tailgate control not working properly, just had it done today about a half hour job.

I have noticed if you need to overtake from sitting behind traffic putting the indicator on and pulling out the car car reacts much quicker.

My 1.4 was run in with a 1400 mile trip to France along the autoroutes and then town and mountain driving. It has not used any oil. I think the key is not to rev it hard.

Hi All,
how do you get a movie to play when stationary, i put the dvd in but nothing happens.
Cheers
1 press media button
2 press source
3 choose DVDs/CD
Will then automatically play
As a side note there is a touch button that prevents the auto menu coming up when your hand gets near so you can access the menus on the DVDs if they are near to the bottom of the screen. (Page 32 of infotainment manual)

I specced heated windscreen washers, how do I tell if I have them because the water coming out does not seen very heated. Used them when in minus conditions and would expect to see some steam .

Hope someone might help . I have noticed that my interior overhead lights are not working either with auto door opening or using any of the switches . The boot lights are also not working. The footwell lights are coming on though . Have checked the fuse and that seems to be fine.

Have just travelled through France to Grenoble and the ACC is great to use. However there was a lot of rain for part of the journey and when this cleared was getting spay from trucks and the sensor stopped working. I switched the whole thing and restarted again seemed to work then stopped again. I got out and cleaned it but still stopped. Was not until that I think it gad dried out that it the started working again. I think water must be getting behind.

You can use normal unleaded (95 RON) . You can also use super unleaded like shell v power or BP ultimate (98RON). Modern cars are tested on the premium fuel and they do keep the engine clean . Honest John from the telegraph has been saying this for years.
As for the sticker on the fuel flap if it does not have one like mine did not, a quick call to your dealer and they should get one for you useful if going abroad.

The Columbus on my SEL is very solid. No loose or rattlely bits in the whole cabin.
-
I guess it is down to the dealer, then?
My 1.4 TSI came with shell helix ultra in a bag with Velcro to make it stick inside the emergency area in the boot
-
The L&K comes with the KESSY key that allows you to do this.
-
I have SEL 1.4 and the whole car is solidly built, screen is fine and easy to use.

Just out of interest my fuel filler cap does not show any fuel info just the tyre pressure values and they are in bars. Is it only shown on deisels.

'Tesco Momentum 99' adds 4 octane over the 'Tesco Unleaded' 95 ron for 5 pence a litre more, nationwide almost.
So £2.25 extra for 45 litres when filling up.
You are not going to find any octane booster that actually works for less cash money.
Millers petrol ecomax works out as 2.5 pence per litre.
-
Does anyone here use Millers Oils fuel additive. This cleans and adds 3 octane.

The dealer can print the service carried out and you put it in the back of your service book

Hello all,
I have just registered to the forum, so please be gentle with me . Hope to have great fun here.
I registered as wanted to share everything I got about New Skoda Superb. My car was delivered one week ago and already I covered 1,600 miles.
I bought SE L Exec Avant 2.0 TDi 150 bhp manual. Jungle Green - looks very cool BTW.
So how is the car?
The best is the engine. My last two trips New Buckenham- Basildon and back ended up doing 62.7 mpg on average. Most of the time without using the ACC - active cruise control. So very pleased.
The worst thing about the car - ACC, rattling at the dashboard and gear box.
I know Skoda Superb quite well as owning Superb MK2 I covered 180K miles over 5 years. And the car was brilliant. New one has got very attractive look as a whole package, but there are some disappointments in comparison to previous model.
ACC- sounds good on paper. In real life is bit annoying. If you are less confident driver on motorway, then you will love the system. Have it on all the time and car will allow you to relax and you will hardly notice you are driving. But if you enjoy being the master of the wheel and like to make your own decision, ACC will not be your best friend. Car will slow down when does not have to, will take time to accelerate despite the car in front moved out of your way. I am curious if you will think the same? Let me know.
Rattling dashboard- for a new car worth £28000 a bit annoying. Hope that will go away in time and if not, first service will have to look at this one too.
Gear box- oh my world. I used to read all the info how bad the VW gear boxes are. In my MK2 all was perfect, smooth, quick and sleek. In my the MK3 the reverse does like to not get in the first attempt like it was 10 years old. When I had my test drive, I took DSG option for curiosity. After all, what can be wrong with manual. The shift are longer, they are noisy and sometimes likes to pop in to wrong gear. Never had that experience in any of my previous cars.
Things on average side of matters:
- wind noise and road noise. Car is not as well refined as you would have expected and the radio or phone must be put quite loud to hear everything clearly. MK2 was better.
- suspension - if you can afford a DCC ( dynamic chassis control) TAKE IT. Normal setting is rather soft. I didn't take DCC and that was a mistake.
- wheels - I took 18 inch. They run on 235/40 tyres. In real life you feel like they are 17 inch which is not too bad. But with the suspension set on Normal, it's all too soft for me.
I will come back to the engine. The 150 bhp is really good. it's very economical and does not have this new blue - something system to keep the engine within the EURO 6. The 190 bhp does have it and will keep your running cost more expensive.
My old Superb was the Elegance 2.0 TDi 170 bhp and thanks to the weight loss, the 150 bhp is as quick as old 170 bhp. gives a lot of confidence when you need to overtake.
The Columbus system is very good, but I am still searching for the Home option.
I also notice, the number of options on operating system are gone. At least it feels that way. but I am still learning the car so perhaps I didn't get far enough to find what was available on the MK2.
Hope that helps to anyone who is thinking about buying the New Superb.
Cheers,

I had a 2l diesel mondeo 2 years old and I could only get 47 mpg and I have a light right foot.
Now changed to 1.4TSI 150 and the computer is showing 37.7 after 185miles.
