Hi @SimonJ, I realise this thread is years old now… I’m struggling to find the golf mk4 4motion springs you mention. Do you know the part number? I don’t want to make my ride too firm or too low, and those 4motion springs sound ideal. Did you find them too firm? And did you need other components (like different drop links) to make it work? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Colin, thanks for the info. Managed to get a hold of Elsawin, it seems pretty good! Glad to hear your remap went well, would be great fun! Did you have yours done on a rolling road? Is that essential/important?

It's a strange colour but I like it! It might well have been the one your mate was looking at. It's in really good nick, just trying to keep it that way now!

Hey I’ve just recently purchased a 2002 Mk1 Octavia 1.8t 4x4 estate. I’ve got the Haynes manual for that generation of Octavia, but it does not cover the 4x4 models. Does anyone know if the Audi TT Quattro with the 1.8t has identical running gear? I believe Haynes do a manual covering that car… I’m after doing oil changes on the gearbox, and Haldex coupling - but hadn’t considered the transfer box and diffs - so I’m after info on those areas Cheers! Hi everyone This is the first forum/owners club I’ve joined. I’ve just got myself a lovely 2002 Octavia 4x4 1.8t Estate, and I’m absolutely besotted with it - it’s got a sunroof!🤘 My first car was a 2.0 Mk1 fabia, written off and replaced twice with two 1.9pd Mk1 Fabias - half of those accidents being my fault 😬 I’ve been massively helped by the this forum and it’s users over the past few years of driving, it feels good to be apart of it now. I’m hoping I can give back as much as I take from this site. Cheers! Will
