  1. Never worry, appreciate you getting back to me anyways.. Definitely still toying with the idea, changed the speakers recently although can see me upgrading the speaker wires and adding an amp in the future too, but for the meantime the speakers with vibe micro amp do the job nicely, not ridiculously loud but loud enough with brilliant clarity and separation so far... Screen potentially next on the agenda though then look at the smartlink activation...
  2. The steps to code in the Virtual Surround and Sub? Yeah no bother, but just to let you know as well it only works with your own media, such as the SD card or Bluetooth etc, slight difference in the radio stations but nothing major... Enable Skoda Surround and Virtual Subwoofer (NOT for CANTON) Menu only appears on MIB2 cars (using vcds) 1 - Select Control Unit 5F 2 - Select Long Coding (Select 1 from top menu not 0) 3 - Select Byte 11 4 - Activate Bit 2 (Sound System Internal Individual) 5 - Access Media tab, then click Settings – Sound and tick the new boxes
  3. I know it's been a while since this was done but was the screen unlocked/CP removed or was it just plug and play? Thinking on doing the same to my 2016 to have the bigger screen just...
  4. It's kind of hard to explain, it definitely makes a noticeable difference to the stock non-canton sound though and I believe was something like a £200 optional extra when buying new, it's simple enough to code in using VCDS, can give you the steps if you want. As for the airbags, they can be a funny one, sometimes te fault may not appear unless the ignition has been turned on while the plugs disconnected, but a simple scan and reset codes should clear it. VCDS wouldn't necessarily be needed to clear the airbag codes a good diagnostics would do the same it's just VCDS is specific to the VAG group.
  5. Did you do the reset of the unit after the coding? Holding the power button until it restarts? Not sure if it will help with the MK4 but I know it had to be done on the mk3s and the menu only appeared in Mib2 and 2.5 I think.
  6. Interestex to know if you have done this yet, if so what head unit have you got and what speakers did you use to replace the stock ones? I activated the virtual sub and surround sound on mine using VCDS and made the biggest difference so debating now if speakers would enhance the sound further...
  7. So on the PFL you were able to use the same parts listed?
  8. Had a look, on my own MK3 manual, to get access from above I had to remove the air fliter box rather thsn the battery box then it is straight down practically looking at you towards the front right if the gear box...
  9. Photos are of my own... I didn't need to remove the battery box or anything, this was located at the front of the gearbox, should be the lower of two sensors I think with the upper one being the reverse light switch, and was easily accessible from above, I will get a photo in abit and post here to show location better. However as my own was a MK 3 I'm not sure if it's a similar layout or if there was any changes in terms of getting access etc.
  10. Did you ever happen to get this sorted? I've just had the same issues on my own MK3 VRS Manual, which ended up needing a simple repair of a nipped wire on the plug on the gear box, under the reverse light switch. I've attached an image of the plug with the nipped wire and the sensor on the gearbox
  11. googling the codes wasnt much use, and anything that would usually put the codes on has been changed yet same fault... as for the tubro actuator it was checked before the turbo was changed and everything is moving freely... as for the skoda dealer, really isnt one 'local' roughly 2-3 hours drive away and a supposed skoda specialist in the town, well lets just say he couldnt organise a **** up in a brewery...
  12. Hi there, bought 2006 Octavia II Classic 1.9TDI (105 bhp - BXE Block), sold as seen with an engine management fault, hence the price i got it for. Now ive serviced the car, changed the timing belt and the usual things that would be done when purchasing a car second hand. The car lacks acceleration, and power when going to over take, she is totally dead going up a hill, however given a run on a straight road eventually she will reach a max of about 75mph. I have ran both a LAUNCH diagnostics computer and VCDS software on the car from RossTech, and the same faults keep appearing, i will list these below, with numbers 1-5 being the most persistent and numbers 6+7 being more intermittent in registering as faults; 1 - 05184 / P1440: EGR Valve - N18: Open 2 - 12546 / P3102: Motor for Intake Flap - V157: No Signal 3 - 00579 / P0243: Turbo Supercharger Wastegate Solenoid (A): Open/Short circuit to Ground 4 - 00275 / P0113: Intake Air Temperature Circuit: High Input 5 - 00568 / P0238: Turbo Super Charger Boost Sensor (A) Circuit: High 6 - 00581 / P0245: Turbo Super Charger Wastegate Solenoid (A): Low Input/Short to Ground 7 - 005269 / P1495: Radiator Exhaust Gase Switch Over valve - N345: Open or Short to Ground. Now regardless of what work i carry out the faults remain, the Turbo, MAP Sensor, and MAF Sensor has all been changed, there was 3 broken wires in the plug for the vaccuum box in the bulk head, these have been repaired and the box itself has also been replaced. EGR valve taken out, cleaned and moving freely so no faults there yet all these codes and the problem remains. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated as I have came to the conclusion that it is possibly a broken wire somewhere given the fact the faults remain the same no matter what seems to be done. Cheers Mick
  13. New to this, on Skoda Forum.co.uk but very limited numbers and next to no replies.. Drive a 2006 Octavia II 1.9 tdi
