  1. I found some info on some russian forum about activating the visual representation of obstacles as an overlay to camera feed. By activating car function list Gen2 BAP-VPS_0x0B you should see rectangular shapes over the video from the camera in places where there are obstacles. The pictures i seen were of a highline camera with moving trajectory lines. Unfortunately, on my chinese low camera, this setting breaks the park pilot. If anyone with highline camera can test it to confirm, i think it would be a cool feature to add. Also, it seems that this setting adds a virtual button on the car menu, witch i think would enable the use of the camera even while driving (forward).
  2. On a MY2016, 1.6 TDI, 110hp this setting has no apparent effect. I've driven the car about 500 km and did not notice any improvement. Also, setting it and resetting it back did not cause any faults.
  3. The update itself is ment for skoda shops, this is why on skoda update portal it states that an update DVD is available but needs to be done by the dealer. I for one, have gone with my car in service for some other stuff and asked them to update the infotainment but it seems here in Romania there is no official update available. (or they do not know/want to do the update)
  4. I forgot to mention that as my chrome is set to automatically translate Russian. You can also use google translate.
  5. If anyone is interested, i found a tutorial for upgrading the sound quality on bolero mib1 and mib2. VCP or ODIS-E are required for full features, but some settings seem to be configurable thru VCDS aswell. An interesting information from this tutorial is the activation of Virtual Subwoofer and Skoda Surround options on MIB2 models Credits to the author: Vovanoto Link: https://www.drive2.ru/l/10356586/
  6. Does anyone know how to install the iso ? The author suggest to do the upgrade only if you trust your abilities, but does not mention what is the procedure. I have read on a VW forum that a similar update was done using an sd card and ODIS.
  7. Dear all, After almost a year of using and playing around with my my2016 octavia 3, i discovered an interesting thing: After i connect my android phone using mirrorlink and then disconnect from the menu, I am able to run a VW application (Drive and Track) and oddly enough, it can connect to my vehicle and show stats like: RPM, gass pedal pressure, brake pressure, speed, and gforces. Althow the app needs GPS to work, the coordinates are used to draw a map for that track, and probably gforce is measured by the phone internals, but everything else seems to go thru USB. The only problem is that the app is not certified to run while driving, and it only works while stationary if mirrorlink is active, or if i disconnect mirrorlink from the headunit menu. I will post a video in the near future, showing the process. I wonder if there is a list of information that can be transmitted thru USB, and if there are any apps that take advantage of this ... For anyone interested, my headunit is a MIB2 Bolero, with smartlink enabled, and no smartgate.
  8. I hope this helps: Subsystem 2 - Part No SW: 8U0 955 559 C HW: 8U0 955 559 B Labels: 8U0-955-559.CLB Component: G397_RLFS H06 0004 Serial number: 60868517 Coding: 00885D
  9. I got the same error message when i first tested my camera by joining the wires manually. It would throw that error if the wires lost contact even for a fraction of a second. I had to reset the headunit every time to erase the message and keep testing. Check the wires again and maybe check that the camera is transmitting video feed.
  10. if anyone is interested, i tried a simple setup for a foldable lcd monitor: https://youtu.be/jzb61J8Lk3Y
  11. Looking thru the Superb forum I found this tweak that should improve sensitivity of throttle. Has anyone tested this on a Octavia ? http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/380829-superb-mkiii-vcds-adaptations-tried-and-tested/?p=4611928
  12. First of all,you need to make sure you get one with NTSC video output Second, it will only work while in reverse = useless
  13. i also found this as an official upgrade for VW. Should work for our bolero aswell.
