  1. Aren’t all MK3 Škodas Start-Stop anyway? In fact, all 2014 and later cars in general? My Fabia surely is… that’s why it’s surprising they fit an EFB battery in the first placs?
  2. Recently my MKIII's battery finally gave up the ghost after almost 8 years, so I'm in the market for a new one. The current one is by MOLL and it says EFB on it. In the users' manual, however, I noticed it says "AGM - battery type" in the Abbreviations section. I assume that's just a general reference and likely not for this car in particular? Or can MKIII in fact also use AGM-type batteries?
  3. Yes, I also hear this sound from my AC sometimes... it's not always present though, so I'm hesitant of taking it in for checkup because I'm sure the mechanics "won't hear anything", or will shrug it off as normal sounds... is it normal, though?
  4. Hey guys, sorry to resurrect this thread. I have a MKIII Fabia (2015) and up until now I've used the stock alloy wheels both for winter and summer tires (215/45 R16.) However, I'm currently considering getting a different set of wheels for my winter tires, that is 185/60 R15, while keeping my summer tires on 215/45 R16 wheels. Please can someone reconfirm if I'd need to buy separate TPMS sensors for the winter wheels or not? (eg.: https://www.buycarparts.co.uk/skoda/fabia-nj3/108658/10934/tyre-pressure-control-system) I'd definitely like to have the system working properly in notifying me if one of the tire's pressure gets lower than the other and whatnot.
  5. So they replaced the fuel flap lock system under warranty and everything is fine again.
  6. Ok, on second thoughts I’m quite sure this shouldn’t be right.. it should definitely lock with the rest of the car... Can somebody please reconfirm?
  7. Up until now I had been convinced that the fuel flap locks whenever you lock the car. However, today I realized that isn’t the case. It seems that regardless of whether the car is locked or unlocked you can always open the flap. Is this normal behavior or did the lock system in my Fabia fuel flap stop working?
  8. Perhaps not exactly the same issue as OP is having, but ever since I updated to iOS 11, Bolero syncs my contacts on each and every ride in my Fabia. Most of the time it syncs fine, but sometimes it says that the sync has failed. I tried unpairing and pairing my iPhone again but no help. It's getting a bit annoying already...
  9. Agreed! Though I'm quite "lucky", I suppose, as my driving only includes cca. 20% in town, the rest is out of town, which definitely helps mpg quite a bit.
  10. My current long-term average (for the past 4-5k km?) is 5.1 L/100 km, which would be between 55-56 mpg if I'm not mistaken.
  11. For those interested, I managed to get it to work thanks to @Paul90!! I wrote step-by-step instructions below, but to summarize: the path of your mp3s needs to be linked to folders/files on your SD card, and for Mac users like myself the .m3u file should be saved in Windows (CRLF) format, otherwise Bolero (and similar systems) won't recognize it due to some formatting differences between Windows and Mac. 1. Create your playlist in iTunes 2. Click on the playlist, go to iTunes "File" and then "Library" and select export in M3U format 3. Open the .m3u file with TextWrangler (free app) 4. You will see something like this (this is just an example of 1 song!): #EXTM3U #EXTINF:273,Shape of You - Ed Sheeran.m4a /Users/username/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Ed Sheeran/Divide/04 Shape of You.m4a 5. Remove everything to the left of the slash "/" before the artist's name, so you end up with something like this: #EXTM3U #EXTINF:273,Shape of You - Ed Sheeran.m4a /Ed Sheeran/Divide/04 Shape of You.m4a 6. Do this for the rest of the songs in the .m3u file (best to use the "find and replace" option within the app) 7. Once done go to "File" in TextWrangler and then "Save As" 8. Under "Line breaks" choose Windows (CRLF) - this will ensure that the file can get read properly in Bolero! 9. Copy all your music to SD card and make sure the paths match those on the playlist! E.g. in the above example the folder structure is as follows: Artist/Album/Song, so the "Ed Sheeran" folder should be visible right away when you plug SD card into your computer, as it will be on the "root" of the SD card. Below I'm quoting some additional explanation from @Paul90:
  12. Hi CCBaxter, I got it to work, many thanks to @Paul90!! (It should work on Columbus too!) 14. Hi, were you able to find a solution? I'm also trying to get my playlist to work... (In Bolero, however).
  15. Could someone please help me to get the iTunes playlist to work in my Bolero? In iTunes on my Mac I have a playlist of cca. 3,200 favorite songs. I exported a .m3u file of this playlist and then added it to my SD card. However, when I tap on the .m3u playlist in Bolero it says "No playable files available". I should add that my entire music collection is on my 256GB SD card and it's sorted mostly by genre folders and then inside these folders there are folders of artist albums and as well some separate folders with just hundreds of random non-album mp3s. I haven't had a problem playing these from my SD card, so I thought that once I added the .m3u file it would index all the songs from the SD card by itself. But then I figured the problem of why the playlist wouldn't work in Bolero may be because the file paths are obviously linked to my Mac. Here are a few examples from my playlist: #EXTM3U #EXTINF:273,Turn Me Up ft. Kendrick Lamar (prod by Tae Beast) - Ab-Soul /Users/jon15/Musick/RAP Albums/WEST COAST/Ab-Soul - Long Term Vol. 2 (2010)/08. Turn Me Up feat Kendrick Lamar (Prod by Tae Beast).mp3 #EXTINF:274,My Dream Girl (prod by Neffu) - Ab-Soul /Users/jon15/Musick/RAP Albums/WEST COAST/Ab-Soul - Long Term Vol. 2 (2010)/14. My Dream Girl (Prod by Neffu).mp3 #EXTINF:252,Back in Black - AC/DC /Users/jon15/Downloads/- NEW albums, mp3s/ACDC-Back in Black .mp3 #EXTINF:207,Highway To Hell - AC/DC /Users/jon15/Downloads/- NEW albums, mp3s/The Rolling Stone Magazines 500 Greatest Songs Of All Time/254 - Ac Dc - Highway To Hell.mp3 So I've tried several things in trying to get it to work in Bolero, namely: 1. removing the whole front path before a song, e.g. /Users/jon15/Musick/RAP Albums/WEST COAST Leaving only: /Ab-Soul - Long Term Vol. 2 (2010)/14. My Dream Girl (Prod by Neffu).mp3 2. Trying to add a dot . in front of it: ./Ab-Soul - Long Term Vol. 2 (2010)/14. My Dream Girl (Prod by Neffu).mp3 3. Trying to reverse the slashes: \Ab-Soul - Long Term Vol. 2 (2010)\14. My Dream Girl (Prod by Neffu).mp3 4. Adding a . in front of it: .\Ab-Soul - Long Term Vol. 2 (2010)\14. My Dream Girl (Prod by Neffu).mp3 Nothing seems to work... Please advise what could I do to make it work? (Of course, I could simply drag and drop all the mp3s from the playlist into a separate folder to "emulate" a playlist, but I wouldn't want to sacrifice 20+ GB of my SD card for duplicates of the songs that are already on the SD card as parts of the albums etc. Also, the problem arises when the number of files in a folder exceeds 1,000 and Bolero wouldn't recognize the remaining 2,000 songs, which means I'd have to split it into several folders. So how could I even make Bolero play ONLY the songs from these couple of "playlist" folders as opposed to randomly choosing from the rest of the music SD card anyway?)
  16. Ok, you can simply drag and drop the files from the playlist into a folder on SD card if you wanted to "mimic" the playlist.
  17. Upon inspection of the .m3u playlist, I could imagine why Bolero wouldn't recognize the files in the playlist. I would assume it's because the playlist is based on the directories on my Mac rather than my SD card! So the question now is how to export the playlist from iTunes that will be based on my SD card file locations rather than Mac file locations??
  18. Yes! Horn is one of the worst things in Fabia.. it's really embarrassing when you have to use it on someone and it sounds childish... I think the first horn in the link that @chieflordy posted above already sounds good! FIAMM AM80S 12v --- not sure what kind of horn it'd have to be to fit into a Fabia tho? On that note...
  19. Thanks. I have the older (late '14/early '15) version of Bolero (the one that doesn't support MirrorLink properly). I just tried deleting all the DS.store files and also added a smaller .m3u playlist (cca 300 songs) to the SD card. As expected, deleting the DS.store files didn't play any role whatsoever. In addition, the 300-song playlist wouldn't play either, so that eliminates the doubts about playlist not being recognized due to excessive number of files in the root folder. I'm hoping someone can help me over in Octavia III forum. As a last resort I suppose I'll have to add these mp3s from the playlist separately into folders (without a playlist), which really wouldn't be fun though as the playlist involves 3000+ songs, meaning I'd probably have to split them into like 4 folders because of the damn 1000 songs per folder limitation. And then if I had these 3 or 4 folders, how could I even make Bolero choose songs between these folders ONLY, rather than eventually randomly playing songs from other folders on the SD card as well? Seems like I'd have to buy a separate (small) SD card just for these "playlist" folders then?! In addition, is there even a way to export all these mp3s from iTunes playlist into a folder? Because as of right now these 3000+ songs are only in a playlist in iTunes, so obviously I wouldn't want to go look for each and every mp3 from this playlist separately and then manually add it to a "playlist folder".
  20. I surely appreciate your help man, thanks! Actually, so far I've never had a problem playing my huge collection from the SD card, that's why I'm sceptical as to whether or not deleting the DS_Store files would help at all. As sometimes I did delete these hidden files, while on other occasions when adding some more music and whatnot I may have forgotten to delete and it didn't seem to play any role. Now that you mention the max no. of files in a folder, could that be the problem that it won't play the playlist? The playlist that I'm trying to get to work on Bolero includes cca. 3200 songs, whereas a 1000 (or so) is the limit per folder if I'm not mistaken? P.S.: as for enjoying my music on holidays - no probs, since I can also play this same playlist from my iPhone via bluetooth and it works pretty well. It's just a bummer that it won't display album artwork over bluetooth, which I can live with temporarily, but I'd still want to play all my music from the SD card in the future mostly because of the artwork thing. Also, if playing through bluetooth there seem to be 1-sec or so interruptions during every other song or so; that's another reason to prefer the SD card.
  21. I see. But considering that I have a huge iTunes library (100+ GB) and mostly sorted by albums, my SD card is already 80% full, so I don't wish to duplicate the songs by adding these favorite songs into a "playlist" folder and causing these songs to take up additional GBs on my card. Defeats the playlist's purpose... :/ I'll try to delete those hidden files when I'm back from vacation, but I still find it hard to believe it would actually solve the problem. Re: Finder: I see normal mp3s with .mp3 extension in my SD card Finder folder.. Just like any other folders on my Mac.
  22. Ok, I see. I have 16" alloys though. (I believe you have 17"?)
  23. Ah, totally forgot to do that. (You are referring to the ._.DS_Store files, I suppose?) But do you think that is really the culprit here?
  24. Looks good! Speaking of road bumps etc being harder now, may I ask how many bars do you inflate your tires? I only have a sport suspension on my Fabia but noticed when I lowered the tire pressure from 2.3 to 2.2 bars that it somewhat helps dampen the shock from the bumps a tad bit.
