Presumably produced before the shortage. I was simply letting the forum know what I had been told by the dealer.

I can assure you SurreyJohn that supply issues do exist for automobile paints. I've also experienced it with Mercedes AMG. It may be due to supply issues, reformulation etc.

Ordered a 1.5 TSI sel dsg today. Was undecided between emerald green and cappuccino beige. Was told emerald green and petrol blue were both on back order with deliveries not expected until after June. So went ahead with cappuccino, plus beige leather, space saver spare wheel and rubber mats and mud flaps to be fitted by dealer. Hoping for late April delivery, but awaiting dealer confirmation.

I'm considering fitting LED sidelights to my Fabia vRS. I have xenon headlights and the side light bulb is positioned below the main beam bulb, so I'm a little concerned whether heat from the main beam will adversely affect the LED. I like the look of these SMD CAN BUS bulbs as they shouldn't trigger the bulb failure warning, but how do they cope with the heat from the mainbeam? Any feedback from those who've fitted the SMMD bulbs? Thanks for any help.

Adjusting Xenons on Fabia VRs for Europe
mj01 replied to lighting's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I have xenons on my Fabia vRS and use black insulating tape to mask off the near side 'kick up' on both lights when touring in France. Just drive up to a wall and use your hand or a piece off card to block off the beam to judge where to stick the 3 or 4 pieces of tape on each lens cover. I also do this on my Lotus Elise s2 and never been flashed by 'blinded' drivers over there in either car. -
poor headlights and reverse light
mj01 replied to jamestay1's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
I'm planning to get my wife a Fabia with level 1 trim, and I note that the headlights are different from the level 2 and above (DE module?). What's the difference? Anyone know? -
Fabia 1 1.6 Tiptronic - feedback wanted please
mj01 replied to mj01's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Thanks guys, really useful. Level 1 (plus some extras) suits my wife as she doesn't like / need aircon or alloys so no point in paying the extra £1k for level 2. If anyone else has any thoughts, please do add. -
I'm considering replacing my wife's 1997 Polo 1.4 auto, which we've had from new, with a new Fabia 1 1.6 Tiptronic through the scrappage scheme. I've read all the reviews I can find (not many on either the trim level 1 nor the tiptronic gearbox!), but would like to hear some real world feedback on: Fabia (trim level) 1 Tipronic gearbox 1.6 engine Ideally, all together, if anyone has a Fabia 1 1.6 tiptronic! Thanks in advance for any help.

You may not find the 1.2TSi engine that buzzy, it develops peak torque from 1,500 rpm!

Calculated average (I keep a paper record of every fill, trip and running total mpg) over 71,500 miles since new in a 2005 pre-BLT engine 53.3mpg.

"Motor/pump?!" type noise starts after switching off.
mj01 replied to vindaloo's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I had the same problem - like a droning noise. The garage diagnosed it as coming from a metal block which has a number of vacuum lines coming from it, situated at the top left of the engine bay. Had to be replaced at a cost of c.£200 (not repairable I was told). -
I posted a thread nearly 2 years ago "...leathered" with photos. See my signature for details of my Seat Surgeons retrim. I'm still very happy and covered over 40k miles since retrim. Must go for door cards to complete the look.

Its Here! vRS CR TDi. Thanks Autofinders.
mj01 replied to S41NT's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Thanks for the response S4AINT. Mine loosened up (improved performance and MPG) around 10k miles, also applied with my previous Merc E220CDi. Really keen to read your view on performance comparison once you've put a few more miles under the wheels. I've not found the Fabia too bad on cornering, but it certainly does transmit a lot of road / tyre noise into the cabin - really notice the difference when you get onto one of those quiet / rain absorbing motorway surfaces. So good to hear of the refinement improvement on the Octy. Don't have £££££ now I've bought the Elise, but it is great fun. Just a shame the weather's been so awful this "summer". -

Hi S4INT, I'm thinking of changing from my 3 year old Fabia vRS, to the new Octavia vRS CR TDi; can you post a brief comparison in terms of performance, ride, handling and economy? Thanks.
