  1. Thank you very much for your reply. It has so cambelt it is. Many thanks again
  2. Hi. I appreciate this has been asked before but... I have a 1197cc 81Kw SE drive TSI 2017. The car Variant is described as ACCYVBX0 The car version is descrbed as NFM6FM6AJ014STN617 I would like to know if this car has a timing belt or chain. Thank you for any help.
  3. Thanks all. I cannot find the 'mark as solution' button I have been prompted about so I will close it here. It seems that the 'shallow' version of the box (the A version of the part number used with the insert for the detachable hitch) is for 2WD and the deeper version designed for a battery is for 4WD. Thanks again for your help.
  4. Thanks. I have had a look and several points come out of this thread. I have a feeling this is a wild goosechase on my part.....
  5. I have today rung my Skoda agent and he feels 'pretty sure' this airbag recall does not apply to the UK. He also said that if the recall does to the UK, there will be the usual letter from Skoda and/or the Agent will make contact with me as the owner of the car. Time will tell....
  6. Thanks. Elsewhere in the thread two part numbers were quoted for 2 and 4WD which is why I made that assumption about what is happening under the boot outer floor. I will await a reply from the spares company who asked for the VIN (which the Skoda Yeti >airbag recall< site says is not a valid VIN despite it agreeing with what is on the car and, presumably, has caused no problems for the dealer over the years and which does work for a general recall check and GPS mapping updates. Maybe they mean that my car is not involved with the airbag recall??). I also assume the spare part company is asking for the VIN to make sure the correct part is identified.
  7. Later: I have checked the part order quoted for 2WD and it looks on the money. (I assume the 4WD version of this box is different due to the physically different arrangement under the outer boot floor due to the 4WD mechanics.) I will see if I can get hold of the internal dimensions and then take it from there. Yes: it was me with the smart alternator and trim queries a while back. Since then, CTEK have created a split charger variant that can handle a smart alternator without having to use a relay.
  8. Folks: I should have posted the model - 2017 outdoor 1.2 petrol As posted on another forum, many thanks for your helpful replies. I will follow up what has been posted. No: nothing is being stashed there. 😄 It was to have been used to hold a small auxiliary AGM battery to free up space in the back when I need auxilairy power but not enough to justify my 110Ah battery. I use the polystyrene arrangement to already hold items. As someone mentioned, the present insert is to store the push in trailer hitch but I don't normally have the hitch with me. Thanks again
  9. Hello. I am looking for the approximate internal dimensions of item 4 in this schematic which is described as a rear battery box. Thanks.
  10. Guys: amazing. Many Thanks for both your replies. I think that once I have temporarily removed the roof seat belt from its fixing through the roof lining to check for clearance and the general situation between it and the underside of the antenna base and to increase the wiggle room under the lining, as well as removing the two side panels as aerofurb describes, plus all the other info kindly supplied, I should now be able to get enough room under the lining to cut using a q-max cutter plus be able to run the feeder down to the boot floor. Now, I just have to wait for some decent weather..... Thanks again.
  11. Again, Many Thanks. I did not realise that was a possibility. It would seem logical to use a (rather quick!) reaction to generate the gas as keeping the gas in tanks is, I now realise, somewhat impractical and bulky. I just now need to know how to remove the very rear (either side of the hatch opening) white vertical plastic trim between the window 'sill' and the roof lining. Does anyone know? This panel should be removable without first removing the lower big rear side panel - as seen removed in the previous tow bar electrics link. I might then be able to pass the feeder down behind the large rear panel. Thanks.
  12. Hi. I am sorry for the tardy acknowledgement. Thank you for taking the time to post. What you have posted is really useful and will definitely help me get the antennae feeds down the side pillar. The overall intention is to mount two antennas, one either side of the standard antenna, in the section of the roof at the back which has increased clearance between the underside of the roof and the roof lining. The roof lining should not be too much of a problem as it will only be rear part which will be 'persuaded' wide enough from the upper hatch seal to get my hand in once I have removed the roof rear seat belt (which should let me check for clearance between the rear roof seat belt housing and the intended antenna site on the near side between the near side edge of the roof and the standard antenna - approximately half way between the two.). Does anyone know where I can find out the location of the curtain airbag tanks as I obviously do not want to upset anything by slightly lowering the roof lining or drilling the two holes (followed by 12mm q-max cutters). The comment in the linked post comments about the gas tanks being above the roof lining and, given the increased room at the back, it may be possible that the tanks are located in that area - but I have not seen anything thus far. Thank you again.
  13. Hi 1) The plastic trim immediately inside the car to the left and right as viewed from the rear hatch. This (white in mine) trim is vertical from the roof headliner edge to the same height as the bottom of the rear side window on each side: Please can someone tell me how to release these two pieces of hard trim? I have a plastic non-scratch tool. The two trim panels appear to be held by two push-on fixings just down from the top and the bottom of each plastic piece. 2) Releasing the trim around the roof rear seat belt anchorage: I have noticed the two flip open covers on the hard plastic trim which presumably expose the mounting bolts. If this trim is removed, does that unfasten the roof lining in that area? Thanks for any hints.
  14. Austin 7 - Thank you for the prompt about my typing error but, as one who has been licensed for 43 years, I think I know the usual limits of the Broadcast FM band in the UK at least, thanks. The lesson for me is to review more closely before posting. Radio Amateurs are not strictly required to know spot frequency allocations or band limits outside their own bands - just an appreciation that there are other users in the spectrum and the precautions needed to prevent interference to them - besides knowing their own amateur band frequency limits and which parts of that band may be 'shared' or have some geographical operating limits for parts of the band within the UK. In the same way, it would be unreasonable to expect you to know our amateur allocations (you may well do so which is great). Over the years, one does get to know other allocations and spot frequencies outside our bands but, I must admit on this occasion, I did not know yours probably because I do not operate on 4m and have no requirement to be involved with low band equipment. It was just a mistake by me from reading your answer too quickly. :sun: Just to further confirm: you are correct. I do have the 12N socket as I am only towing a basic trailer and so, as a result, do not have the fridge and other feeds. As for the Hydrogen question: again, I agree. However, provided the battery is not overcharged (and the C-tek prevents that happening), the level of hydrogen given off is way way below the dangerous level. If having an AGM was thought to be unsafe inside a vehicle due to the gas question, then the use and sale of AGM batteries for use inside motorhomes, and especially under the driver's seat as has been mentioned by another respondent, would be not allowed for obvious reasons. It is appreciated that ventilation is still required, however. I hope that provides some sort of clarification of my earlier answer.
  15. Hi John999boy - This is a little late in the day but 'low pressure' (if you mean barometric low pressure) will not have any effect at HF (except for the possibly resultant high winds blowing down everyone's HF towers...) but will have an effect on propagation at VHF and above - but that is another story. It is the effect of the sun's solar activity that is of interest for HF propagation. Also, I think you are referring to the 'sun spot cycle' not a 'skip cycle'. The actual skip effect will be affected by the sun spot cycle (amongst other factors) but that is yet another story and is a science of its own. I hope that clarifies the situation.
