  1. You're car is at its most efficient on over run rather than idle so when you knock it out of gear to coast you're doing the opposite of what you think you're doing.
  2. You can get multi spline like this from Halfords. I have a set in my tool box
  3. No an offer as such but autodoc.co.uk tends to have some very reasonable prices on most of the time.
  4. Aliexpress might have something. I know they do inserts sets like this.
  5. I didnt have any warning rattle, just felt under powered when driving home and then failed to start again. I was very lucky and only got bent valves but it still cost £1500 to fix. A preemptive replacement of the tensioner is considerably cheaper.
  6. EA888 is the engine reference used by VW, CCZA is what Skoda call the same engine. Personally from experience the cam tensioner fault could be present at any point. Mine is an early facelift the same as the one you're looking at and mine failed. I personally would factor it in and get it done asap for peace of mind.
  7. You're still using a faulty part though. Was the intake new or used?
  8. Agreed that intake is faulty. Speaking from experience if you haven't changed the tensioner get it done asap. If I recall correctly Skoda said they charge around to fit it £250 which is considerably cheaper than the £1500 it cost to fix my engine and I was lucky that mine was salvageable.
  9. I had the same issue, change mine myself following a youtube video. It's not a hard job at all and can save you some money on labour and also allows you to give everything a good clean. I had similar quotes of £650. Ensure that all of the injector seals are replaced if you do have the work done at a garage at the same time.
  10. Sold to member stiffshifter with a deposit paid.
  11. Bump these are still available. Just sat in my garage never fitted so open to any offers.
  12. The runner is off the flaps as it was buzzing previously. Thanks. I'll give them a call.
  13. Hi, My intake manifold needs replacing but i'm unsure of what the latest manifold part number would be for my engine. My current manifold has the part number 06J133185BT if I'm reading it correctly. Searching for this however doesn't give many options so I assume it has been super-seeded. Does anyone know what the updated part number would be? The car is a 2010 Tsi 2.0 VRS. Thanks
  14. As simple as it sounds have you tried the spare key?
  15. How did you clean it and where did you get it reset hazza?
  16. My rebuild cost £1500 so I think you'd be closer to £3k profit at a minimum to be honest.
  17. I'd strongly recommend taking it to a specialist engine firm and seeing how much to rebuild it as you may find £1-1.5k gets you a sorted vehicle to sell.
  18. Have you taken the head off? Mine was just bent intake valves.
  19. If it's transferring to the cabin is be looking at both of the lower engine mounts on the sun frame and the dogbone mount it attaches too. I had cabin vibration and the top mount of the two had cracked.
  20. Which kit did you use Mike? How would you rate it?
  21. There's no chain kit afaik so you'd have to buy the bits individually but they're not cheap if you get them from skoda. Independents around by me were quoting £450 to £650 so it sounds about right. Do yourself a favour though and just get it done. Don't drive it if there's any symptoms too. I learned the hard way.
