You're car is at its most efficient on over run rather than idle so when you knock it out of gear to coast you're doing the opposite of what you think you're doing.

EA888 is the engine reference used by VW, CCZA is what Skoda call the same engine. Personally from experience the cam tensioner fault could be present at any point. Mine is an early facelift the same as the one you're looking at and mine failed. I personally would factor it in and get it done asap for peace of mind.

Agreed that intake is faulty. Speaking from experience if you haven't changed the tensioner get it done asap. If I recall correctly Skoda said they charge around to fit it £250 which is considerably cheaper than the £1500 it cost to fix my engine and I was lucky that mine was salvageable.

I had the same issue, change mine myself following a youtube video. It's not a hard job at all and can save you some money on labour and also allows you to give everything a good clean. I had similar quotes of £650. Ensure that all of the injector seals are replaced if you do have the work done at a garage at the same time.
