  1. I have a 1.2 litre, 7 speed dsg just hitting 72,000 km and not a problem at all. It’s been a really enjoyable car to own.
  2. I’d say the radar has been knocked. Right pain in the butt. I was driving in torrential rain on a motorway and this also came up. Called the dealer and they said to bring it in. Two days later when I started the car, it seemed to have reset itself so I cancelled the appointment. Then it started intermittently switching on and off. Finally took it into for a service and they tried to claim the radar had been knocked and I needed to pay $500 AUD to get it recalibrated. I refused, stuck to my guns and they fixed it at no cost. its a really stupid place to put a radar. I drove the in laws Volvo in Sweden at Christmas and Volvo have theirs in the windscreen. Much better place if you ask me.
  3. Happens also for around 30 seconds when I start my 2015 Fabia. It’s normal.
  4. So I have had my Fabia for 16 months and am just about to hit 30k km next week. This car has been fantastic, cheap to run and faultless. How long are you planning on keeping your for? Are these cars going fall apart rapidly? How long is the dsg going to last for? i'm in two minds to either hold onto it and keep it or purchase a new Fabia at the end of this year. Am waiting for the Kodiaq to arrive later in the year too but may wait for the RS.
  5. These are Yakimas though in Australia marketed as Pro Rack. Here is the website www.whispbar.com.au Parts are: S5W Flush Bar - $350.00 RRP+ K891W Fitting Kit - $69.00 RRPTotal: $419.00
  6. Finally got around to downsizing my photos so I can show you my new racks. Thule as I had mentioned has these really huge feet which would have acted as a sail on the Fabia. I managed to track down a pair of Yakima (Pro Racks here in Australia) and these are much nicer and more low profile. Very happy indeed, other than the price. $420 plus fitting! Aftermarket parts are so expensive, but worth it. :)
  7. Got a call from the shop and they had the wrong feet. Turns out the 2015 feet are for the old shape Fabia and you need to purchase the 2016 current model feet for them to fit. Now on order.
  8. Has anyone put roof racks on their Fabia? I went to purchase a set of Thule black roof racks today and the guys couldn't fit them on correctly. The feet would not fit snugly enough to the roof and when tight they were still able to be wiggled. He wasn't comfortable about.selling them to me which is understandable. He double checked the Thule website and had all the right parts. Frustrating!
  9. A piece of nylon and a hair dryer. Heat the badge up then slide the nylon between the badge and metal.
  10. I debadged mine and love it. Not many Skodas here in Perth. Fabia sounds a little 'ghey' to me
  11. Sooo, was booked into drop my car off for the day to get these dreaded DRL's sorted. The same guy who told me I don't have DRL's when the car was serviced last time had another look again, and told me he was sure my car didn't have them. He then compared them to another Skoda in the car park that had the DRLs on the fog lights. I insisted that the park lights were the DRLs, he took it into the garage and spent around ten minutes with his staff, who then got on the phone to Skoda, where they proceeded to tell them they needed to do a initial factory reset, and suddenly my DRLs are working, and I can now turn them on and off via the info screen in the car! It turns out that when the cars are delivered new, the dealership needs to set the software to Australian settings and this never happened. it doesn't help that the only Skoda dealership in Perth is actually a Jaguar service centre and it appears that they don't do a huge amount of work on Skoda! Finally all sorted and very happy. The best part was that Skoda Australia called me in the afternoon to apologise and have given me $200 off my next service with them! I'd post a picture of my new bright DRLs but I don't know how to upload images here. Thanks for all your help!
  12. Volkswagen have organised the dealer to have another look in Friday. Fingers crossed!
  13. I have the same on mine when the engine is cold too. Haven't really worried about it.
  14. After sending a picture of my park lights on, plus the paperwork that came with the car saying it had DRLs, I finally got an email back from Skoda Head Office Australia confirming the car does have these factory installed and they will now contact the only Skoda dealer for 2000km and tell them to fix it. I'm not holding my breath!
  15. @Neil, Thanks for quick reply. I have tried before to turn the lights on by the settings on the radio but I do not have the DRL options. I have got the same lights as what your car has except any function to turn these into DRLs. When the Skoda service department hooked it up to the computer they could turn the DRLs off but there was no option to turn them on..... So frustrating, I'd take it back to the dealer but they are 3500km away! I actually found the original paper that would have sat in the car as the car was sitting in the yard being sold and it confirms it has DRL. Unfortunately it does not have any ViN details only the price, what extras it comes with etc.
  16. Hey Yetikent, Can you please confirm if the DRLs are the straight strip of lights below the actual headlights themselves? More dramas. Volkswagen have called to tell me I do t have DrLs on my 2015 Fabia........ Looking at your pictures, if the DRLs are the straight strip of lights below the headlights then I have these but only when I turn on the park lights.....
  17. TBH, I think it is more of a fashion statement here in Australia. It does make sense to have them in though.
  18. So finally got the car in for the 15 k service. Told them (Skoda Service) about the DRLs not working. They told me I didn't have DRLs and couldn't find how to turn them on when they connected the car up! Went home, checked the specs on the 2015 ca I have and yep, it says I have DRLs. Called Volkswagon customer service, they confirmed I have DRLs, Volkswagon have called the Skoda service department to apparently tell them how to turn them on and now I have to go back! Frustrating but getting there slowly!
  19. Interesting article in the local state online paper claiming the Fabia has only sold 308 this year! I love mine, as I believe it's a bargain when compared to other models. The only downside is still awaiting parts from the accident I had one month ago! How popular and many are sold in your country? Here's the article: http://www.drive.com.au/motor-news/australias-five-best-cars-that-arent-a-sales-success-20160504-goma2p
  20. Got the 110 DSG. Having never driven a Skoda, this thing has been the best car I have bought. Zippy and very frugal. It's a pleasure to fill up each week!
