I ditched the tyres mine came on new for these at 200 miles old - really glad I did for all the reasons stated.

I suppose the answer is to buy a TomTom and stick it over the internal screen!

Re the postcode thing, you need to type the space between the postcode groups. <belm> at VAG for that.

I've not found mine to lag, but it is crap at routing, almost always giving the same fastest/shortest route when there's a glaringly obvious shorter route available. Mind you I'm not sure I've ever used an integrated satnav that was properly good at this. Could be worse you could be driving a Volvo and using their system, which makes the VAG one look like the bleeding edge of routing technology! I miss my old TomTom.

It's improved a bit since new, as you might expect. Not hard to see low 60s mooching along an A-road at 45-50 as is often as fast as you can go with traffic. Loving it though, almost as much as my old M135i, albeit for different reasons.

Success! The bit that's missing from the original instructions is "clear the error codes afterwards" - that was what had made the difference. In regard to the long coding for A5 Byte 2, I had tried 01 and 02 previously with no success. I chose 2 because it seemed more appropriate for my car spec. This is what the options in the Beta version of VCDS show me; I've set it to 01 now, but my vRS has Dynamic Light Assist. Is this now disabled?

I've tried multiple times, definitely not missed a step anywhere, and the same fault continues.

I've put the latest iOS on my phone and carplay is still working ok. Maybe a glitch, delete and re-add as per post above is my suggestion.

Ok tried again, with a factory reset on Lights afterwards. Same fault. Since I updated to the beta version I noticed another adaptation had appeared relevant to this procedure: IDE08786-ENG116637-Assistance light functions-Menuesteuerung Fernlichtassistent IDE08786-ENG116641-Assistance light functions-Menuesteuerung Fernlichtassistent Werkseinstellung The first one is the one listed in the instructions, but what does the 2nd one mean? Something to do with factory setting if my rubbish German is corect. Should this be used instead?

Thanks - am going to give this another go now. I reset everything back to how it was last night.

Ok tried the beta with a firmware upgraded cable, same result.
