  1. Had my 18 plate 110 6 gear manual for 8 months now having covered over 6.5k. Use the box quite frequently to maintain performance, the way I was taught many years ago. Never had any issues with smoothness in any gear and would compare it to my previous Octavia 1.4 TSI 6 speed which was also smooth. Very pleased with the motor overall. Back to the dealer me thinks !
  2. My 2018 110 TSI SE L does have insulation under the bonnet which did surprise me as my previous Octavia 1.4 TSI did not, strange.
  3. Picked up 5.3.18 SE L TSI 110ps race blue As spec + spare tyre & 'supa guard' treatment (freebie)
  4. Picking up a SEL TSI 110 Hatch on 2nd March (hopefully) in race blue. Down sizing fron my current Octavia 1.4 TSI hatch. Test drove the Fabia on both town and dual roads and was happy with the result. Have previously owned a 1.2 TSI Fabia and the 1.0 TSI seemed up to the mark, no doubt time will tell. Have to say the Octavia has been a dream and the engine one of the best I've driven on all counts. However size matters and looking forward to the smaller Fabia again.
  5. Hi all, just had my second service (20k) on my motor at Motorline Canterbury. On my third Skoda from them and thought it might be of interest how things went ? The 10k service cost £129, the 20k £203. I booked in for a fixed time and was offered a lift into Canterbury which is only a 20 minute walk anyway. Both services completed within the time stated. Paper work confirming the service 'computer' had been updated and they also changed my fixed service schedule to the variable one due my annual mileage changing with no hassle. A video sent to my e mail with the 'technician' talking through his inspection of the underside of the car and his findings. i've been fortunate that all of my motors have only visited the dealership for service and have not experienced them dealing with any other issues. Overall they seemed to do what was required in efficient, professional manner in both the sales and service dept, and before you ask, no I don't work for them.
  6. Apparently very common for jets to get blocked. Happen to me twice now, 1st left on drive in summer for two weeks whilst on holiday, 2nd yesterday after long run to Birmingham and back and parked up for three days whilst there. Both times removed hinged cover to expose jets and used suitable pin to clean out, worked both times. Pulling jets off fixing and soaking in a cleaning solution is another option, all a bit of a pain really. Even when working correctly they are not particularly affective and are a nightmare trying to get them to spray in the right place after cleaning.
  7. Ditto - also on fixed servicing last at 10005 miles, Feb this year. However since hitting 18200 the service display has been counting down from 500, today saying 100 when I am still under 19k, strange. I have no intention of getting a sevice until 20k when its actually due. On my last 10k service my dealer said anything up to 1k over the top of is ok re warranty.
  8. I consistently get 50 + mpg. For example last weekend 180 mile trip to Norfolk, motorway, dual carraigway, two way roads, keeping on the posted speed limits, to many cameras these days ! and I averaged 52 mpg according to the on board display. After 17K miles in this motor and my second 1.4 TSI and a previous 1.2 I have always been impressed with this engine. Manual 1.4 TSI SE Hatch
  9. I must be lucky, the gear shift is smooth a not a bit lumpy, in fact the only 'issue' I've had with my current car is the foot shower you get after rain/wash from the bottom of the drivers door. My own fault as I'm to lazy to get it sorted, maybe next service in a couple of months.
  10. I am on my third TSI engine, one 1.2 on a Fabia and two 1.4 on Octavia's. My current 1.4TSI Octavia Yr15, 17000m I love. I find the engine excellent for both town and motorway driving. I am no boy racer but I don't hang around. I find 'working' the manual gearbox to achieve best performance is a delight. Average 50+ on long runs. Bought from new, I tried several other makes at the time, Vauxhall, Toyota etc with similar size motors, but they did not come close in my opinion.
  11. Read with interest since ownership of Octavia hatch 1.4 TSI SE - March 2015. Done coming up to 17k. Never had any boom or excessive cabin noise. Have got a full size spare wheel and an old blanket covering the boot mat (to keep it clean) just saying. Love the car and the TSI engine.
  12. Finally signed up, very happy with my Octavia 1.4 TSI SE Hatch.
