  2. Unfortunately ive been a mong and rear ended somebody in the skody. Cat C writeoff :/ so thats it for me guys thanks for all the help ect. Had these made up for my car but there now of no use theres 5 sets of them. Roughly 30cm x 8cm Posted Free to the first 5 people who want them. Thanks again guys for the help with things going off to sulk some more now haha. Anthony Really sorry Posted in the wrong sections should have been the Roomster sections not projects could a mod please reloacate it. Thanks
  3. under the car on the passenger side bolted to the gearbox there are 2 connectors. 1 for air con the other from the alternator. the wiring into the connectors degrades and breaks. Check this first before spending any money on getting it plugged in ect. Mine broke a few weeks back so I rewired both connectors over the top of the engine using speaker wire and heat shrink from maplins and cable tied them to the bonnet release cable to keep it tidy and out of the way. you will need to take the air box off to pull the cable up if it is that.
  4. So after chasing all the wires from the door running continuity checks everything is receiving power as it should. started looking into if it could be the thermal overload in the drivers door. if i leave the window down 2mm from fully closed it stays working all the time. if i let it fully close and lock the car up then unlock it the windows pack in for a while. so looks to be the thermal overload tripping all the windows out. would this be caused by the motor and controler or would it be an issue with the window regulator itself ?
  5. Thanks for the info wino. Found both the alternato load wire and the ac pump wire are not connected anymore. They have rotted through. Gonna rewire them over the top of the headlights to keep the dry. Niw just these pita windows to repair now.
  6. Update. Borrowed a motor module from a fabia. Unfortunately the fabia has 3 connector ports and only one of the cables for the roomster fit leaving the 2 pin plug unplugged. Tried the windows anyway but nothing. Put the old module back in and now the windows suddenly work. Got me completely puzzled. The drivers window works on automatic unless i let it go all the way down then it will only work manually untill i reset it. Wondering if the thermal overload could ve playing a part in the windows failing?.
  7. My electric windows packed it a while back then started working again. then after heavy rain packed in again. Figured it was just water ingress in the controler. have stripped the door card off and removed the motor and its spotless not a mark on any of the connectors. Have run a voltmeter across its pins its getting 12v+ to the controler and the window switches themselves are getting 12v+ power too. Theres no power being delivered to the motor when i press the window switch and use a multimeter on the motor supply pins The passenger window works manually for about 5 minutes if i unplug its door loom for a few seconds the plug it back in. ive probably answered my own question and its the drivers controller that is dead but is there anything else i can check. Repaired a few wires in the door jam to repair the door lock but the rest of the wires seem fine in both drivers and passenger side doors. Thanks in advance for any help. Anthony
  8. They all look fine. is there one i should remove and reseat or anything ?
  9. A while back my electric windows failed during heavy rain. a few weeks later they started working again then failed again the other week after more rain. if i unplug the passenger door the plug it back in the passenger side works for a few minutes before packing in again. drivers door doesnt work at all. if i put the key in the lock and turn to shut the windows this does not work either. VCDS come up with Address 09: Cent. Elect. Part No: 6Q1 937 049 E Component: 0000 BN-SG. 1S35 1 Fault Found: 01117 - Generator Terminal DF Load Signal 27-00 - Implausible Signal Could this just be damp in the module from the rain. want to have an idea before i start ripping the door card off. a few days ago my air con also stopped working theres no click when i turn it on and after putting a guage on the fill port it shows 100psi which doesnt drop like it is supposed to when the engine is turned on and the air con is turned on. air con light comes on. VCDS came up with this. the cam bet was dont not to long ago so im hoping its just a loose wire and not the compressor clutch. any info would be great before i take the belly pan off the car. Address 08: Auto HVAC Labels: 6Q0-820-045.lbl Part No: 5J0 820 045 1 Fault Found: 00898 - Control Circuit A/C compressor 30-10 - Open or Short to Plus - Intermittent thanks for any help in advance Anthony
  10. We checked num 46 Central Convenience, Measuring Blocks Groups 1 and it said not found.
  11. Hi My roomsters electric windows have stopped working. They sometime start working again if i unplug the drivers door then plug it back in. Once they work again everything works great untill i lock the car then it packs in again. Ive checked the door jam wiring and found a couple of snapped wires which were to the central locking so have repaired them. All other wires seem fine. I couldn't see any corrosion or anything on the pins or socket so thats fine. Ive had it plugged into a VCDS system and the guy couldnt figure out how to operate the windows or even check them with it. it kept coming up with controller not found when he selected drivers door and electrical. What should i check to pinpoint the problem before i start shelling out the pounds on new motors and modules. Also is there a way i can get a part number for the wiring loom to my door without pulling it to bits to find the slip on the wires ? Thanks in advance Anthony
