  1. On our 2020 superb it came with live sat nav. traffic and Laura voice control , car was 8 months old when purchased and not sure when Laura stopped as we didn,t use it. Also when putting in destinations the sat nav. stopped giving voice directions, when this stopped working am not sure. Although about a month ago when in conversation with a passenger Laura suddenly interrupted . Still no sat nav. verbal directions tho. Any one any ideas about the sat nav. verbal directions, I thought it was possibly only available by subscription. Regards Martin.
  2. Did yours have a pan roof, I wonder if it's a bit tight with the water drain tube.
  3. Hi gwu, same here with my Next Base dash cam although I have not fitted the rear facing camera, two things short of time with work and fear of braking the internal trims although I have some trim removal plastic tools, it's almost 2 years since I bought the camera so better get it done if it ever stops raining.
  4. Appreciate all members comments, as I have stated still no advice from the Skoda dealer on what service it requires, I get the feeling that they are not really interested once you buy the car. I had an independent local garage fit new brake discs last year on the Superb ,change the haldex rear hub oil last September but not clean/replace the filter as I was told the old oil from when it was built was in quite good condition, recommended though to change the plastic filter when it requires it's next oil change. All the works carried out by a recommended owner boss time served mechanic that takes time to show things when the car was raised on the hoist (brake disc condition) My families vehicles were all well looked after by a different independent garage own boss again but sadly he passed away very unexpectedly. I was just interested in how the Skoda dealer would deal with my questions, the silence says it all which is very disappointing as we have bought a new Skoda from them previously. Independent for me and as mentioned do some things myself as well. Regards Martin.
  5. Hi Rooted, yes that's the supposed reason for the recall, thanks for the comprehensive service info, have yet to read it. They quoted £359 for 3rd year service and £475 for the 4th year service. Regards.
  6. Had a phone call this morning from the superb suppling Skoda garage from a pleasant lady who did a security check then proceeded to advise that our superb required it's four year service ( no doubt because of the safety recall that is booked in for next week). I mentioned it was not four years old until September. Anyhow strangely I received an e-mail from the dealer 3 days ago, in this e-mailed guff amongst extended warranties it mentioned that the superb's service was due from just £220 with a minute star symbol. She asked me for the cars current mileage and I said approximately 21,000. I asked what the cost would be and she said there were three service prices, minor, intermediate and major. She advised it probably required a major service although as it was low mileage it may just need an intermediate service but that was up to the senior technician. Costs for each were mentioned and a major was over £400. I then asked what each service included-parts materials and work carried out. She could not advise on this and said a technician would e-mail me this information today. As yet no one has sent me the relevant info, obviously I understand if anything is found outside of the service carried out it would cost more . Am I not within my rights to ask what I would be getting for my money from a professional concern. Thoughts please. Thanks
  7. Last week we received a Skoda UK letter for a safety recall due to a possible miss placed heat shield in the engine compartment. Some Superbs have suffered melted brake fluid reservoirs that hat then resulted in fires. Could this be the plastic engine cover. Anyone able to shed light on this.
  8. The car is 3.5 years old and original battery.
  9. Looking very tidy, hard to believe its such low miles.
  10. Last Saturday on starting the car( after 7 days not being used) it seemed sluggish also had a sensation of clutch slip. Then I noticed an amber lit wording -EPC with an amber car outline with a dial and exclamation symbol. Took it to my independent garage who said it had 3 fault codes which I can only remember being low fuel rail pressure well something like that. He stored the codes then cleared them, I took it for a 4 mile drive with no warning messages showing and car driving as normal, returning to garage. The mechanic said it might have been the fuel filter slight blockage (original one from new) he recommended changing it in the near future. Car ran perfect on a 3o mile round trip back home. And has run fine since. Anyone had similar issues.
  11. I used to be as a teenager, that was almost before time began.
  12. Just to add a strange twist to the tyre wear , I can confirm that the two front tyres are wearing on the outside edge not the inside edge, there is about 4 mm of tread across the tyres but the outer edge is feathering . The mot tester got the inside/ outside mixed up somehow. I will get the car tracking checked asap. Martin
  13. Full service at Skoda, yes I check stuff, planning to keep it for a long time but not sure now, old Volvo was a lot less trouble than this.
  14. At 18,558 miles our Superb had it's first mot, rather disappointing to find that it has four advisories, 1, unable to inspect various underside components due to undershields. 2nears side front tyre worn close to legal limit /worn on edge the inner edge is slightly worn.3, same for offside tyre. 4, front brake disc worn ,pitted or scored but not seriously weakened slightly corroded on the inner faces. It does stand outside but we have never encountered such issues on previous new/ almost new vehicles. Are the brake disc's made of aluminium nowadays. Does anyone think the tyre wear is excessive at this mileage / age (Bridgestone Potenza S001) I wonder if the tracking / camber is out. Martin.
