Hello,
recently I own a (used) Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo.
I like it and I'm very happy with this vehicle.
Now I would like to retrofit a multifunction steering wheel - only the keys.
I've found a how-to for a VW Polo (http://www.uk-polos.net/viewtopic.php?t=54171).
After changing the airbag wiring loom (part# 5E0971584A), I upgrade the two cables.
First the LIN from BCM (white plug), pin 17 to pin 10 on steering plug and the second +12V cable from pin 15 on light switch to pin 9 at steering plug.
I also bought the buttons (left & right) from ebay with part# 5E0919719F. Hope these are the correct buttons?
After everything was assembled, I've start testing the upgrade.
Turning on the lights, the buttons are green illuminated. So connection should be correct.
Unfortunately the buttons don't work correct. Exactly not a single button works. Only if I press the left wheel down, the volume of the radio increase although radio should mute.
What has gone wrong? Have I used wrong parts?
Do I have to recode these button-set with VCDS? I've just activated them by setting the hook at “Multi-Funktion-Steering-Wheel (MFSW) installed”.
Maybe someone could help me with this problem.
Thanks in advance, regards
