  1. Hi,

Apologies if the is in the wrong place but, I have got some number plate surrounds to go on my Octavia VRS, my current plates are stuck on with adhesive fixings, before I rip those off can anyone please confirm whether Skodas already have the screw holes on the front and rear?(To secure the plate holders with.)  I'd hate to pull them off and then find out I need to start drilling the car (Which I'd probably mess up)

    Many thanks.

  2. Stupid question of the week from me (again)

I have just bought a set of the VRS motorsport ones, having looked at the plate I see its stuck on with sticky patches, are the screw holes pre drilled on the front and rear or do I need to get a ton of new sticky patches to hold the surround in place?

I appreciate that I could just go and pull the old number plates off to check but I'm bereft of sticky bits at the moment.

    Thanks as always.

  3. Does anybody know of any way to change the Traffic Management thingy in the Nav? Was driving to work today when the info it was giving me was clearly rubbish, at one point both the M6 and M5 were closed. I decided to give it a damn good ignoring as there were no warning signs on the motorway. I have to be honest the thought of arriving at work at 2350hrs was a little worrying, especially as I had left for work at 0530!

  4. Haha, just seen this and it made me laugh. Was giving my workmate a lift yesterday and he said "That would annoy me", when I asked him what would, he pointed to that very thing.

This never bothered me until I saw this message, now it annoys the b'jesus out of me.

The grill design sends streaks up your bonnet (not code!) in the wet and leaves snail trails once it dries.

  5. Actually the whole reason behind this thread was so that I wouldn't be distracted; I do a lot of miles to work and back and all motorway barring the first and last 15 miles, a lot of work is done via text with other people in meetings.

Currently to answer or even get a text read out is to take my eyes off the road. I'm looking for the ability to be able to press the voice button and say read message or press the button and dictate a message and shout send and away it goes, not taking my eyes off the road for a nano second.

JD52 and domhnall thanks for the answers, I cannot control anything via voice to with messages.

  6. It seems to be able to handle Scottish accents just fine. Occasionally it misinterprets but it offers you the chance to correct before sending. I just say it again slightly more slowly. Voice recognition is very very good. Even handles complex sounds like Drumnadrochit (I know as I used that in a text this week)

Coops/Domhnall, next time your in your car can you look at the text typing screen for me and tell me if you have a mike/voice button. I cant work this out for the life of me. I've even installed different keyboards to my phone to try and fix.
