  1. Mine has been working with the sportline startup logo for years since I coded it as I posted previously on this thread! I did quite a bit of experimenting as detailed at the time to find the correct combination for my car
  2. Pretty sure it’s held in with a couple of torx screws then some clips. i had to remove mine and modify it to fit my full sized 19” in there as per the above photo too
  3. We’ll update to this, had an unexpected call to say the car was repaired so I have it back now. guessing the combination of the Škoda uk complaint and the fact I had a courtesy car from them (after two weeks!) gave them incentive to get it done quicker. if nothing else goes wrong before September I think this will be the last warranty year and last visit to a Škoda dealer, back to my trusted independent and take my chances that nothing else major messes the bed….
  4. Nope! 😭 it’s new though and seems nippy enough so fine for getting me and the kids around for the next 3 weeks
  5. They didn’t quote me a date until last week, only said they would “look at it when we can”. Im finally picking up a courtesy car from them today (after two weeks without) so at least I won’t be stranded while they carry on taking their time. i just can’t believe it’s acceptable to not prioritise fixing broken down vehicles, I work in production maintenance and when something breaks we get it fixed asap regardless of what other planned stuff we have to do! It’s not like a minor annoyance I can live with until they’re free, if I carried on driving it there a risk it could completely fail and leave me stranded or worse
  6. Well to add to my being unlucky it seems my local dealership isn’t helping with that - car dropped off in an unusable state (due to the leaking pump) on the 10th of June but isn’t scheduled to be repaired until the 12th of July! Has anyone else had a better experience of getting a breakdown scenario issue sorted or is it just my local dealer that is a shower of the brown stuff?!
  7. I bought it in 2020 with a years warranty and have taken out the extended one the last three years running. Total spend so far of £1277 and I’m quids in considering I’ve had the alternator, 3 out of 4 door locks (another looks like it might have failed now as well…), fuel flap solenoid and drivers window switches all done for free with no excess. Add in the water pump and potentially the last door lock and it appears money well spent. Just a shame it’s been needed, love this car and not planning on getting rid anytime soon but it’s not been the most reliable car I’ve owned by a long way!
  8. Looks like I can join the 280 failed water pump club today then at 67000 miles and only 17 days after it was at the main dealer having a service and haldex service - FFS!☹️ Used the car this morning with no issues then went to go out at lunch time and had a coolant warning straight away - checked and the bottle was low and a suspicious puddle in front of the car. Got a local mechanic to check it and has confirmed we can see it dripping constantly out of the housing. Now to see if the local dealer are gonna take as long as the last time when my alternator failed to even look at it let alone fix it all the while leaving me stranded..... At least I have warranty still.
  9. Another vote for the Koni, I only paid around £700 for a set of four plus fitting and they made a huge improvement to the handling.
  10. Common problem that, had the same on 3 out of 4 in mine so far. the door lock/switch will need to be replaced, had all of mine done under warranty and hoping the 4th one will go before September so I can get a full house before renewal time! I would advise getting it sorted before it ends up either unable to unlock or lock - I’ve had both happen to me and that’s not fun!!
  11. I had the Koni’s fitted to my 280 a year ago and have done 13k on them with no issues so far. Handling was hugely improved for my local bumpy roads and driving style as I found the standard shocks tended to allow a dangerous amount of uncontrolled bouncing that seemed to get worse and worse when pushing on to the point I felt I was going to lose it! Since fitting it’s never felt like that and I do like to use the power frequently!
  12. I’ve had my Koni’s fitted since February and done 9k miles on them, all seems good for me so far though and handles great when throwing it around (which is frequent given the fact I’ve got the 280 😃
  13. If your commute is only around 4 miles I’d say that’s probably about right. My 280 gets around 28-34 on a 28 mile work commute (mostly motorway) depending on how heavy my foot is (with a DTUK pedal box in sport plus mode but no remap) but if I do the school run (2-3 miles tops) no matter how gently it’ll be well under 20mpg every time. Down to the local towns (I live rural 10 miles from everywhere) I get between 27-30 on average round trips and seem to be averaging 27.4 mostly long term. That’s with “enjoying” the power using D, S and manual modes mixed on mostly Sainsbury’s 97 octane with occasional Tesco 99 thrown in. Last year when the financial crisis hit I drove it like a grandad for about 4K miles and got the averages up to around 32 but my god was it a boring way to drive it!
  14. I think I bought mine at the right time in lockdown, £20k for 2 years and 20k miles. Now it’s got 53k miles on it yet I think I would struggle to get one for much less than I paid and the mileages are about the same as what I’ve got now! Great car though, it’s a keeper
  15. Another vote for a pedal box to sort the bluetack like throttle response. I fitted a DTUK box and run it in sport plus mode, its so much better that when I turn it off for a garage service (don't want them launching into a ramp unexpectedly!) it becomes horrible for me to drive! Do you have the wheel paddles? I now use a combination of disabling start/stop in certain places (some junctions, roundabouts) and either go into sport or manual mode for the initial pull away - that way it does behave like a 280bhp car and moves quickly without constantly trying to get into the highest gear possible half way across a junction or roundabout....
