  1. I don't think the actual filter makes much a difference to the noise, it's the removal of all the sound deadening off the turbo that creates the mad noises
  2. Sorry, you're digging up history I've had a 350z for the past 2 years, I'll see if I can dig up the Email but 70mm rings a bell Can't find the email order bu ti believe it was this one, was very good https://www.ramair-filters.co.uk/shop/automotive/induction-kits-automotive/jet-stream-induction-kit-automotive/vag-jetstream-induction-kits/performance-stage-2-oversized-air-filter-hard-pipe-induction-kit-audiseatskodavw-2-0-tfsi-k03-k04/
  3. Well it's done me well and I've had a good time driving it but it's time to say bye and hello Nissan 350z, absolutely love it already
  4. Wouldn't get a master I've had many reliability issues how about Mercedes? I have a sprinter and it's approaching 370,000 miles now, my father also has one with 320,000 i know people look down on sprinters for rust issues so how about a Vito with the same engine?
  5. Cheers, as you both said it has reset as it got to the end of the road mot is next week so was feeling nervous lol
  6. Havent actually driven it yet will see what happens on the way to work
  7. Just remembered after putting the battery on accidentally sparked the battery after catching the body and it banged perhaps I've blown the relay or fuse, but I wouldn't have any power steering if it has blown surely
  8. Hi all, after looking around for a recent inside water leak I found the old police siren still in the car with the wires going through the fire wall gromit with a big hole only after disconnecting it, chopping wires that didn't look connected, put the battery back on and now the steering light, traction control light and tyre pressure/rotation light are all on power steering is not affected the module is called a whelan alpha 12x does anyone know anything about this? only thing I can do is try to reconnect it all another day
  9. Ive had a bit of a poke around there, nothing outstanding to be seen a friend of mine who knows quite a bit about vag said to check under the battery cover or something?
  10. Hello all, recently after christmas with the temperature being cold the windscreen on my car had been freezing on the inside, only to find out the passenger footwell was completely soaked I've taken out all of the insulation to let dry in the shed, in the passenger floor under the glove box there was a glued up hole with a chopped wire to what seamed to be weeping a bit of water so I removed it and bunged it all back all and it seemed fine and bone dry for ages just got in my car this morning and once again, absurdly steamed up, looked at the passenger footwell again and yep it's all soaked but this time the water looked like it has come from above this hole as if from behind the glovebox I have already taken out the pollen filter which was dirty, but dry so I don't think it's anywhere is that area are there any known areas behind the dash to leak? Cheers, sorry for the long write up
  11. Are they safe to use? As in will they damage the bcm in the car like an unharnessed hid kit? Also do led headlights needs programming or just a straight fit?
  12. Also as I've found out you can run stage 2 from super chips by just removing the precat rather than decatting or fitting a sport cat the only issue they said I may of had is a few boost codes, but it runs perfectly fine and runs much stronger, they give figures of up to 263bhp and much quicker spool up and lower end torque for Just 50 quid on top
  13. I got offered 2250 for my 07 plate 100k miles that's with full service and 1 key plus it's an ex police car, not a bad offer just slightly low I'd say
  14. Also considering smashing out the main cat depending on how hard it is edit : thought against this
  15. Hello I have my exhaust off my car right now as I was supposed to fit a decat pipe, long story short it's incorrect I've read removing the precat gives good gains alone and is still legal in the U.K. To do does anyone know if this will be sufficient enough to put a stage 2 super chips map on it?
  16. well i've ordered a 3" downpipe anyway so looks like ill be doing it
  17. Hi all, I'm currently thinking of upgrading my octavia to a stage 2 remap through bluefin as I already have the stage 1 on it, apparently all I need is a decat/sports cat and I'm good to go for 50 quid! So far in preparation for this I've replaced my spark plugs for iridium ones, changed all my coil packs to brand new R8 red packs, fitted a forge PCV blanking kit and I already had a ram air induction kit fitted before all of this is there anything else I should be looking at? The engine itself it pretty clean and leak free cheers
  18. also is there a difference between hatch and estate exhausts?
  19. Hi all im thinking of spending a bit of money on my octavia vrs estate (already has a remap) and right now I'm considering a cat back system what do you prefer? A resonated system or a non resonated system? As long as a non resonated system does not give the horrible diesel sort of sound on tick over I'd be happy, is this the main point of a resonated system? Also would you buy a kit from eBay? E.g. Miltek and fit yourself or would you take it to a garage to have one made up? All opinions appreciated cheers
  20. I was paying 1500 in a saxo 1.1 as my first But in my saxo 1.6 the next year went to 3000!
  21. I think it's just the boost pressure getting released? Mine does it
  22. If a coil pack goes you will notice a hard missfire when you put your foot down in the higher rpms Well it did for me anyway and the missfire can be spotted early before it gets really bad I have a bluefin map on mine so only around 245bhp but I wouldn't say it has any flat spots it pulls really well Easiest thing to check would be pcv as it's literally on top of the engine I changed my diverter valve by taking the drivers side wheel off and taking the wheel are lining off and you can just get to it From what I understand the DV has either on or off boost (doesn't keep any between shifting) so if that's a bit knackered it may be why it's taking a bit of time for your car to come on boost Also if it has a tear in the material I believe it can lose up to 4psi of boost in the higher rpms?
  23. I use the iPhone SE, same size and I have no problem with it Just make sure you get the google maps app from the App Store and don't use the one that's already on the phone labelled as "maps" it's pants
  24. I use my phone all of the time with google maps, long distance delivery 4 days a week and I think it only uses about 1gb I haven't ever needed to top up my 2gb a month allowance anyway
