  1. @FletchCossieI never had oil in my coolant/ water if theres oil you must have a head gasket or warped head or maybe a small crack somewhere that would loose coolant but it is a different issue.
  2. No i never fixed it and traded it in i let them do everything they could but they simply had no idea they were just following steps on the computer. Thet couldn't speak to the proper Skoda engineers as they all don't speak english ever thats broken lol Yeah it sounds like your just starting the 7 attempts checklist i'd give them one more try maybe two, or one try at a different dealership. I would suggest at the third attempt that they are clueless and bin it or trade it in. I never had any mechanical issues with it as it stil worked well only coolant was disapearing leaving no trace at all. But one day that might end up being a new engine which they won't give you even if it's under warrenty and you done there full checklist.
  3. I own it outright but i do have keeping the last years warrenty in line too just to be safe really.. it was 2 yeara old in jan its a taxi in a lakeland village my filters are generally almost brand new when changed... i plan on keeping it sweet for aslong as possible really proberbly upto about 250k miles
  4. I use my local garage but i buy original parts and keep recipts just incase, thats why im trying to find it all out proper to make sure im doing everything in line with skodas recommendations @ahenners yeah i kind of feel it dont need doing yet it seems all filters are good until 18k too ... its literaly just a oil change
  5. Thanks awaoffski it was a live chat thing to a service desk but i was half expecting to not find anything out. I guess im a bit infront then service wise so would you recommend a simple oil and filter next service then as a minor then next one go full ham again at the next 10k miles with the filters just to treat it good. I will be treating it as 10k minor 20k major as i do around 30k miles a year
  6. Hello I'm having a few problems trying to find the official service schedule for my 65 reg 2.0 TDI SEL i've tried the usual google searches but not found anything on it for certain. I also got intouch with a dealer they told me they dont have the info which was a bit of a suprise but suggested her service department to ring me back which they have not at the moment. I'm sure skoda uk would know but im wondering if any techs/ experienced members on here would know. I literally did the lot on the 1st service oil+ filter, fuel filter, air filter, pollen filter which was less than 9k ago so this info would greatly help going forward. I'm unsure exactly but i believe air filter is 56k oil every 9k-18k.. fuel and pollen around 35k Thanks for any help
  7. That seemed a bit arsey and I dont think you needed to say that. If you had that issue and lost 14k you would not be very happy would you. I guess you were "Lucky"
  8. I ended up trading it back to the dealer I baught it from just to get rid I replaced it with a 65reg octavia 2.0tdi SE L Skoda tech and two different dealers were not capable to fix the problem if you get this problem my serious advice is to get rid straight away. With the dealer I was told I was a "buyer" because I am a business that gave me 30 day "ONLY 30" to return it for a full refund a "comsumer" ie private buyer gets 6 months. So I had two options available to me. Option 1 : the dealer buys the car back (for a **** price) Option 2 : Trade it back in to the dealer (for a **** price) I took the trade route bearing in mind I had the car 11.5 months and couldn't even use it for 3 months in the end, I paid 15k for it at less than a year the trade price was 9.5k!! I Told them they were taking the **** and the forcourt price was 13.5 -14.5 but they said thats "retail" and I got bull****ed. So they were finding me a replacement car this was stil going on for two weeks yet the last one they found within half an hour I guess the sales guy was doung **** he got paid for so I was down his job list. I decided I wanted the 2.0 and a newer car so I ended up paying just over 3k but I know the 2.0 is a good engine and just cut my losses. Avoid the 1.6 like a plague and if you get this problem DONT ALLOW THEM TO TRY THERE LIST OF FIXES chances are you will never be out of there or worse like me the clowns can't fix there own cars! Then your ****ed with a huge bill overall I lost 5.5k wages 5.5k depreciation and 3.2k on the trade = £14.200 I hope this horror story helps someone to get the **** away from them as early as you can now if someone tries to gix your car at a dealership if its not done first time your lining yourself up for unlimited tries don't accept it get the **** outa there.
  9. Yeah Its been a **** experience so far Im now trying to trade it in buying a skoda has been awfull for me I have spoke to loads of people locally with mk3 occys they all seem to have no issues I think the dealer sold me a lemon that was returned to them and they palmed it off to me which is a **** take cause they know I'm a business.
  10. So I called the dealer where I got it from which is further away.. they told me I cant get a refund but are required to attempt a fix before any more action they said theres a buy it back clause or I could trade it in. So I went to that dealer last week and left the car for a week I hand delivered a letter to the dealers pronciple incase the fix didn't work. So I returned for the car and I was told it had a big air lock which I wasn't very convinced about as it has previously been fully vented with all three systoms on (main and back ups) they tested it a few times before I returned for it all seemed well I drove it today for my first day back its done 170 miles (90 Were on the motorwau coming back) and the expansion tanks empty again. Lost for what to do I'm going to try to get a trade sorted tomorrow by phone. It's been hell ownjng this car and I can't loose more money in it with time off.
  11. So my nightmare continues i took it to athe dealer (closer to me) in Dec they were checking the cylinder head the master tech couldnt find anything... for what ever reason he left his job possibly for different reasons so my car sat there for three weeks untouched!! It was agreed they could have it for only two weeks as its my only taxi So i faught skoda uk for a replacement taxi i had to pay a local firm each week then invoice them this continued for thrre weeks (6 weeks in total) I am speachless how crap that dealer is. They told me they put a new egr cooler on as they found a leak. As you can see above that was already checked and found to be ok so 6 weeks of my time wasted the car was not fixed. I struggled to get the money back off VW mobility too it took another month after 7 unanswered emails and being fobbed off. I took it upon myself to not allow them to fob me off i recorded the next call on a app call 'total recall' if you ever do that you have to tell them you are recording them so you can use it as proof they then **** ten and paid me for the three weeks hire.
  12. Skoda customer services are a joke... they have no idea and don't contact warrenty who deal with it all. I've been in touch with citizens advice and reported the dodgy dealer who sold me it to trading standards so far. It all depends on if it's fixed on return. I can claim a civial court case up to 10k and circumstantial loss of earnings if the judge agrees with me. My next step is a paper trail letter of intended action and the skoda,,, vw ombudsman I can't see why they aint replaced a overheating/ failing engine they dont seem to be able to fix then exchange it for a fully working one and recondition at thete leisure I've lost over 3k in earnings so far. So they won't be getting off scot free as far as i'm concerned.
  13. What a nightmare this stil is its been in two weeks so far the heads off they said theyve visualy inspected it and skodas now getting them to inspect the intercooler! Whilst the heads suppost to be tested and its all stil apart in bits there. This has cost me a small fortune having no car to run as a taxi over christmas what a joke skoda can't fix there own cars ????
  14. Not yet lpt100 i'm waiting for the kids to break up again for contractual work reasons before they can try again. If it was a normal car i guess this could have all been done within a month but with them not providing a like for like vehicle just a courtesy car I can't work in it. But if you've only put 800ml in it since Jan that seems ok in 10 months,, i put that in twice a week sometimes it's not perfect but unless you start putting more and more in i wouldn't go down this path of a list of six fix's it's been a total joke.
  15. @Gladnika that part is the charge air cooler i asked my mechanic i use a few days ago it cools the turbos air inside the exhaust manifold Ive got it booked in to get the head checked next lets hope it's finaly fixed 6th time lucky ????
