Hi mate,
The cost effectiveness of a 6 speed box in a 1.8t isn't worth it in my opinion unless you're genuinely going over 145ish mph on the regular. After around the 145mph thats when a 6 speed gearbox has the edge over a 5 speed gear box in a 1.8t. I would recommend a long ratio gearbox from maybe an Audi A4 1.8t as 4th gear is just epic. But it's not completely necessary.
My best mate has a ibiza 1.8t which is literally the same car as what you have just a different shell, which has gone through all kinds of gearboxes also racing another 1.8t cupra ibiza with a short ratio gear box which absolutely left it in 4th gear both running the same power. (240 bhp). So hopefully this helps you! If you have any more questions just pm me

Strip it, sell for parts and pay the remainder few months off the finance would be my best bet if you have no mechanical knowledge to replace the engine yourself.

Looking good mate
Cheers Steve, it's getting there
-
They really suit it
Thank you mate. I wasn't sure going into it myself, but they've really grown on me and i have never seen a set on a MK2 before.
Besides, couldn't look any worse than them XXRs haha.

17's were hard enough to come by, especially in 5x100.
-
So i only went & done it.
Fifteen52 turbomacs purchased. I've left the rear camber shims on as tbh i can't be bothered to remove them lol.
The car will likely see the rear adjusters out of the coilovers over the next coming months. I'm not too bothered at the moment as it's winter and the weather is horrendous so 0 motivation to do anything on the car.
Also, some parts i have ordered.
Honeycomb grill:
MaxtonDesign Splitter
Hopefully this will transform the front end.

So wheels have gone and ive when and bought another setFifteen52 Turbomacs 17" 8j
I quickly photoshopped a set on mine, sorry for the awful editing skills..
Soooo, coming the next few months are:- Front splitter- Honey comb grill to match the bumper- Smoothed bumper- Diffuser sprayed gloss black- Paint calipers repained (matt purple) i think. -
I know, I know haha, maybe change them at some point just depends on what I do to the car.....
Yours is coming on nicely as well just taken a look at the thread
Lol thanks. I reckon it would come along even nicer if you donated me them seats
-
Mate, i am SUPER jealous.
I know someone has already said it but they will look **** hot painted green to match the car.

Hmm not sure how they will look on a black Fabia. Might work well with the rear diffuser being the same colour.
Well they're cheaper than what a ticket will be from the police with the amount of poke i have so hopefully i will try and make something of them

I have ordered some Eibach Camber Shims for the rear and these arch kit.
Not entirely sure how it's going to look to be honest, but i reckon i can make something work. -
Wheels look nice mate, similar to when I test fitted some Porsche twists... 9J with 20mm adaptors and looked very similar!
Had to machine the back of the wheel down a few mm as well as the adaptors to get anywhere near reasonable.
I'm thinking about getting them machined tbh, how much mm did you get machined off and what sort of price were you paying for that? Cheers!

So, had an accident with a curb at about 60mph. Managed to rebuild my whole nearside for about £250 luckily. Lower arm, track rod ends, drop link, driveshaft and front hub.
So, wheels on. flip me they're wide. Ordered some camber shims for the rear and going to see how they look. If still looks ridiculous then i'm going to my last option, hopefully it doesn't come to that.
Apart from that, i love them.

Looking good mate.
I have some 312's on the way so can't wait to get those done and a rear ARB.
They make a world of a difference, fantastic mod to do.

They look great. No doubt they give more confidence when braking hard. What other parts did you have to change to get them fitted?
It's atleast half the travel time & it was straight swap over of the calipers and disks, hangers help aswell.
-
Bought my "kill all wipers" delete on Friday, hoping to get mine fitted over the weekend.
Was it easy enough to do then?
What kind did you go for?
Yeah it was pretty easy, just be careful to keep all of the plastic pins together otherwise the boot lining will sag.

Wiper delete done, alot easier then what my Audi was when my mate managed to do this!
Stupidly, i havent taped the old electrics away so they're flapping everywhere under the covers so that needs looking out, but heres how it looks.
I am picking up some KW V2's next month so progress will be slow till then!
-
Lovely looking car! Those upgrades will transform it into an absolute beast! 221bhp is some good power, especially without a decent intake. Is that with the new intercooler? What made you want the airtec over the other ones out there on the market?
Yes that's without an intake and with the intercooler, i ended up going for a Forge FMIC in the end, no real reason. I know how delicate the engines are so didn't want to skimp out on anything.

Are they 312s?
Exid: scrolled up and seen! Duh!
Looks good anyway.
Cheers a nice set of KW V2's on their way!

Got the new discs and pads on last night. Half the travel time on the brake pedal much better.
Original discs and pads.
Side by side
Fitted
And how they look behind the wheel

On the road to making it nice and clean.

Nice little video aswell

Hi mate, nice MK2.
Personally i'd reccomend coilovers over springs but that's just my opinion, one of the best mods you can do is get a RARB they totally transform the car.
If you have any questions feel free to pm me, there's also a Facebook group for the MK2 Fabia vRS which you can search for.
