  1. Congratulations on the birth of your son! This happened to my wife when she took the Fabia to work a couple of weeks ago, minus the burning smell. The light would go off after restarting the engine but come back on soon after. Skoda dealer advised the car must not be driven except to the garage. Once there they found the turbo pressure sensor had failed which was replaced under warranty. Although i I believe the epc light relates to lots of systems affecting the running of the engine so could mean something totally different in your case so definitely worth getting a diagnostic on it to check the codes. Agree on on the car seat front too, the only way ours fits in is with the passenger seat moved forward slightly. So we’ve been looking at a Karoq!
  2. It could be due to deposit contributions from Skoda/ Dealers. For example, if there is a deposit contribution of £1500 then this would allow them to clear the £1400 you owe to allow you to change the car.
  3. If the fallout remover isn't touching it try claying the areas. Hopefully that will remove the marks.
  4. Autoglym is great stuff. It tends to just get looked over for things with more bells and whistles but it does the job and leaves a great finish. The wheel cleaner is acid based though so as Karl says just be careful with it and you'll be fine.
  5. The 312 certainly feels a lot better quality than the older 302 and haven't seen any issues with them such as dead batteries out the box that were common to 402's etc. Can't really comment on the long term durability of the battery but I've sold a lot through work and had none back with any issues.
  6. Have a look at gtechniq C4 Trim restorer. It's great stuff and will keep trim looking good for ages. There's a few videos on youtube of it in action. Downside is that it's not the cheapest but it's worth every penny.
  7. Fitting a dashcam shouldn't be a problem. The dealer would have to prove that fitting a dashcam has directly caused the fault in order to say that the warranty is void. If you have a look at this thread: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/400683-dashcam-wiring-nextbase-kit/ There is a guide on how to fit one. If you'd prefer someone to do it for you then don't worry about going to Halfords, every store has a fully qualified IMI technology installer who has attended accredited training courses in order to become qualified to fit into customers cars. Some people just look down their nose at them. If you do go the Halfords route then the 312gw is good. 1080p recording, wifi for viewing on your phone and it's a nice looking unit. If you go further up the range you get better picture quality and better night recording but lose the wifi. There's dashcams on Amazon and eBay etc but the cheaper ones do feel and look cheap, instructions and menus tend to be in Chinese English too so not very user friendly. Hope that helps.
  8. I downloaded it but since I live in the sticks it was always Ratata and Weedles around so I gave up and deleted it. Game developers could make a fortune if they copied it.....
  9. Yeah what forge said. Took me ages to find it too as I kept looking in the glovebox from the drivers side......
  10. Very nice! Good colour choice too, happy driving!
  11. As title says really. Some good prices. HD wax £38, 1 litre of SRP £13.
  12. H&R and Eibach both make sports springs for the mk3 fabia. They'll be stuffer and lower the car so will feel a lot better through corners. If you go to their respective websites and use the application finders then you'll get part numbers. I've found them online for £130 - £150. I believe the springs Skoda sell are actually made by Eibach too.
  13. I think there would be a bit of leeway for fitting a dashcam, it's easily removed after all and is safety oriented. Usually the warranty would only come in to question if it could be directly proven that fitting a dashcam via the fuse box has caused the problem i.e it won't void the entire warranty on the car.
  14. Looks good! Sounds like it's working perfectly so don't worry about electrics etc, mine has been running this way for months and no issues. Using the hole for the red wire is perfectly fine aswell.
  15. Agree with the above. Gap insurance is the way forward and as mentioned it can be bought for a fraction of the price the skoda dealer will try and sell you it for so it's worth looking around and getting a few quotes.
  16. Yeah your fusebox should look identical. You can use the second fuse slot in on the second row of mini fuses. I added a better picture further down the thread with an arrow on for a bit of clarification.
  17. As you say it's good for doing maintenance washes on a protected car. I wouldn't use it on something with caked on tar spots etc. Would work well in winter when you don't want to dig everything out and start hosing everything down in low temperatures.
  18. I used it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. To be honest I was petrified at first but once you use it and see the results you'll think its a winner. I mixed a spray bottle up to pre soak the panel and let it dwell for 15-20 secs to soften the dirt. Then I had a wash bucket with 2 capfuls of ONR and a rinse bucket with 2 capfuls too. I used a grout sponge as they're supposed to be better for rinse less washing as all the grit goes into the open cells and isn't dragged across the paint. Just worked panel by panel in downward vertical wipes and rinsed the sponge after each wipe. Simple as that as got round the whole car in about 10 minutes. I could see the dirt come out the sponge and then sink to the bottom of the rinse bucket and stay there. The only downside is that it didn't really touch bug splats but to be fair I didn't really expect it to. Agree on the maintenance wash point but there are videos on youtube of it washing cars covered in winter road grime and shifting it fairly easily, granted they don't then shine a bright light on it to show any scratches etc so need to take it with a pinch of salt. Cheers, Grant
  19. Looks absolutely cracking! The start/stop system will tend not to cut in if the air con is on or if you haven't travelled far enough. That's the only times I've noticed mine not kicking in but it's quite rare. You'll love the estate though, I got my monte estate as I've got a baby on the way in November so know how you feel! Enjoy it!
  20. The kits don't use the 12v adapter. They take a feed off a fuse and then run directly onto an inline voltage dropper then onto the camera after that. Are you fitting one of the cameras in the rear window and one in front? If so youll need to extend the power wire and run this down the length of the car and into the boot. Then earth it from somewhere in the boot. You could run 2 wiring kits off a single fuse slot though. Just join the 2 power wires into a single bullet connector then into the fuse adapter to create a parallel circuit.
  21. Strange. I'd imagine it's a bug in the app. Maybe try deleting it off your phone and reinstalling?
  22. When I open my app it gives me the options of: Your library Browse Radio Browse lets you look through artists, genres etc etc This is on CarPlay with an iPhone 6 so I'd imagine a 6s should do the same. Perhaps try opening and closing the app when your connected via CarPlay, might reset the app.
  23. The 12v socket isn't ignition switched however it will be monitored by the car to detect any power draw. This will then cut the power at a certain time after the engine stops running to avoid discharging the battery. Unfortunately it can't be changed in any settings.
