  1. Next year I am looking to change my 1.2 TSI fabia for either an octavia or leon mk3. When looking there are far more diesels available to buy used than the petrols. The problem is I only do around 8k miles per year, this is mainly b roads and some in town. Is it completely out of the question that I go for a diesel due to this? I used to have a mk2 leon which often had to regen but perhaps the newer ones are less prone to this?
  2. Looking for recommendations guys... I currently have a 1.2 tsi fabia monte carlo 2013 (mk2), with low mileage and touch wood has been very economincal and reliable so far. Next year my PCP is due for renewal and I am paying £145 a month, that included 2 years servicing, MOT and warranty for 12 months. The problame is I really want something more exciting but still practical as I have children. My last car was a leon fr tdi, mapped up to around 205bhp, before that I had a mini clubman cooper s (forgive me lol), again running around 200bhp. I dont do many miles (7000) so I think I will look for petrol again. So what would you recommend, bearing in mind I dont want to pay more than say £160 a month. I was contemplating getting something like an octavia mk2 vrs tfsi or even a leon mk2 fr tfsi. Budget would only be around £6000 though. If I take out another car on pcp it would be a budget of around £9,000, although its more, newer cars even at 3 or 4 years old are still expensive.
  3. Looks very nice, if you dont mind me asking what reg is it and how much are you looking for?
  4. I currently own a mk2 Fabia monte tsi 1.2. Whilst I like the car, I miss the power of my previous car/s and refinement. I was considering a Leon or Octavia and made up my mind on the Octavia, in VRS guise. I would appreciate some advice on the following: 1) Which would be better for me? (I will only do around 8000 miles per year and this is mainly short commutes, I am presuming TSI) 2) Is the facelift version much better, is it worth paying more for one than pre? 3) Do they come with touch screen media? 4) What is the real world mpg for a TSI?
  5. I know what you mean, I went from having a Leon with circa 205 bhp to a monte carlo 1.2 tsi and it's a blast to drive. They certainly dont feel like a 1.2, I did a few 0-60 tests and it was around 8 seconds (tuning box fitted).
  6. Looking at the picture it is a very small area and you can get specialists to effectively repair them using spray. I am suprised dealer is fixing it, thumbs up that they are though.
  7. Fair play I'm 33 and have already hung up my boy racer days already, kids took priority
  8. By any chance was it was a 13 or 63 plate silver unmarked BMW that pulled you? Instead of a hybrid why not get another fabia but just more frugal?
  9. I have a bluespark on my 1.2 tsi 105 and did a 0-60 run yesterday, of the 3 attempts I managed to get it best at 8.1 seconds, not bad really at all.
  10. My missus got her 15 plate one about 2 months ago, they are definately quick for a 1.2. Its a pleasure to drive. That said my 13 plate 105 1.2 tsi isnt bad either
  11. Talking of sell outs: Metallica - infamous Load & Re-load anyone?
  12. I didnt think it was good, it should have gone a different direction, although whatever direction it would be blasted as too many people hate Chris Evans, it will get better with time I expect. When "new" TG started in around 2003, the presenters had no chemistry, it had awful production and an embarrasingly small live audience. It wasnt for a few series that it became the show we grew to love, or hate in some cases. If you cant remember look on youtube, you might be shocked. James May wasnt even in it then, it had Jason Dawes.
  13. They said arb bushes were worn, so are sorting it through warranty
