It's going back in on the 30th for a smoke test in case there's a boost leak and they'll look it over they are also going to talk to the company who mapped it to see if they can think of anything as they said they've rad revo mapped cars where the maps turned off when the battery has been disconnected for too long

Beaumont1988 started following Dutch Grey MK3 vRS 245 Combi , Turbo replacement and now I'm down on power and baffled , Primer grey bus and 3 others

So 2017 oct vrs (remapped), I had the boost actuator fail, conveniently the water pump failed as well. Any ways had them both replaced at a local independent garage. And now it's like the remap has been removed or there's a huge boost issue ...the new turbo is an IHI TURBO model number is 28084-00 does anyone have any clues on what could have happened

Thaught id start a project thread while i do the odd bit here and there....having come from an r53 and f56 mini by christ its a big carπ€£ Some what of a poverty spec in vrs terms, but only 14k on a 2017 plate so it was too good a deal to pass up on. Thaught it was a 220bhp model but turns out it had 230 on the dyno. Told myself id keep it stock now ive got a "grown up sensible car" Sooooo first mod was an apr open filter. Ummmed and aaahd about remapping it for a while, read very cobtrasting things about revo vs other companies and could the clutch take it etc ...got advise on here that it should be fine so i thaught sod it Booked it in at west yorkshire tuning having seen them repeatedly reccomended on octavia groups and had it mapped and made a tasty 320 bhp. Realised soon after on full boost heavy acceleration that the revs did a little dip, so ive upgraded the standerd intake hose and turbo elbow to a vagsport hose and turbo elbow to increase air flow and it seems to have resolved tge issue. And thats about it for now

Ive always stayed away from supermarket pumps like tesco and asda since ive had higher power "performance" engines, always tried to use v power or bp ultimate if i cant get to a shell garage π€£ but might try the tesco momentum next refuel Was also pleased that on the way home from mapping i was givin it the odd bootfull and still got 38mpg -

Update ....i bit the bullet after everybodies advice and got it mapped turns out the 220 had 230 to begin with so that was good ...been advised to check the wheel balance and possible wheel bearing issue as he said at 100mph its super loud absolute obscene gains...did a few pulls on the way home n wow what a transformation the 60-80 time in fourth especially its sooo much faster now i would highly recommend west yorkshire tuning πππ -
Remapping on a stock clutch
Beaumont1988 replied to Beaumont1988's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Cars only just ticked over 17k so the clutch should be fairly strong ..and i dont expect to be doing rediculous launches from the lights and ripping the clutch, im 34 and its an estate π€£ its more for overtaking and just having that exra power, think im just goin to go for it. Company seems well thaught of on the vrs owners groups on facebook so ill trust the public that its a solid choice, and that i dont need to waste a grand on a new clutch -
Whats peoples take on remapping on the stock manual clutch revo appears to be against it apr do a low tprque map but ive seen west yorkshire tuning reccomended alot on vrs groups on facebook and they said its fine π€ so now i dont know what to do π€£
