  1. If the garage let the fluid level drop too low then they might have to bleed the abs pump with diagnostics if air as got in the system
  2. The water pump is under the timing belt cover. It is a common part that fails
  3. Only needs to be a bit of carbon that stops it closing fully and you will feel the effects
  4. What spacers have you used ? I got 8mm for mine but the wheel wouldn’t sit on the Center hub.
  5. You may get light on. Apparently the a4 has been mapped and egr turned off. Unfortunately exhaust gases were still blowing past. The a4 was easy to blank off. Egr was on the inlet manifold. Just made a blank out of alloy plate and put between egr and the pipe.
  6. Could well be early sign of egr. Had a Audi A4 2.0pd in work last week. Car had been to another garage in last few week and had a new dpf fitted due to been blocked and apparently new seals in turbo. Car came to us with blue smoke on over run and idle and black on acceleration . After checking it over we found the dpf was again blocked and turbo cold side was full of oil due to too much back pressure. New turbo and dpf again and car was still heavy black smoking and hesitation up to 3000rpm then power was back . Fault code for mass air flow was the only one present but live readings were fine. We blanked the egr off and Power was back and smoke eventually cleared.
  7. There growing on me now. Probably just need getting used to seeing them different to silver
  8. Check wires under seat and it’s possible the sensor is in the door so check for broken wires in the rubber bellows between door post and door.
  9. Changed mine 2011 fl tdi. Simple enough. All screws are accessible without removing bumper on mine. I found it easier to drop fan unit first and removed the hoses by the push on adapters so you got less sticking out. Radiator comes upwards if I remember correctly. Bit tight on right hand side around the aircon pipes.
  10. If the throttle flap or anti shudder valve jam closed then there will be no air going in to the cylinders so less compression. Had this happen a few times on the old 1.9 pd engines where there’s been a build up of carbon sludge. Hope it’s a simple fix and not timing belt.
