Nice colour. I went for a TSI this time too. Always had diesels before.
Got a couple of issues to sort too, the red indicators are stuck up on the rear seats and the headlight level is too low... hopefully the dealer will sort them.

Anyone know if the Bathurst 1000 is televised in the UK this year?

Plenty will get Debadged easily while others 'Badge Up their older cars with the Naff IMO lettering. Strange world.
The dealer showed my mrs the new one with the lettering and the old one with the badge and she said she preferred the badge. He said ‘what can we do for you to get you to order the car?’ She said take the lettering off: ‘well if you buy it we can take the lettering off for you and put a badge on’
When she turned up for the hand over it still had the lettering, she wasn’t too pleased... Other than that she loves it.

We had a similar issue on a 1.2 Nissan Joke a few years ago. Nissan were aware of the issue but wouldn’t do a recall, we had to ask to have it done. Worst car I’ve ever owned. God knows why I let her talk me into that!!

Bought a stubby USB lead for the phone

Cheers, same colour as my outgoing one so was happy with that. Not a bad deal from a main stealer either, too good not to get.

Cheers for the replies. Manual Petrol could be the one to go for then i think...

Hi,
Looking at upgrading from a MK II CR TDi manual to a MK III VRS (possibly DSG). Originally was after a DSG Petrol. However i've seen some of the 184BHP manual diesel models advertised as £30 tax and some as £145, is there a subtle difference in engines?
Also Petrol DSG vs Diesel DSG, any issues or ones to steer clear of?
TIA

The Mrs has hi a deer, to be fair the bumper did fairly well. However it is cracked. Seenone on eBay that will need a respray.
Do any of you knowledgeable chaps know the part number for the tray underneath the engine as its in bits? Also will a standard mkII Tdi one fit? As there is one on eBay...
Thanks in advance

Yeah mines red! With some black styling it should look pretty nice!
How did you have the chrome grill sprayed? Did it need sanding down etc first?
Got a local spray shop to do it. Did a really good job but he was't keen on spraying over the top of the chrome. I think he did sand it a bit.
I think wrapping would be better or that plasticoat spray on stuff.

Could look great!
I thought about having the spoiler wrapped in black but I did some photoshop editing and it didn't look right!
Yes did think about the spoiler but came to the same conclusion.
Not sure about my roof either, could be a pain in the @rse with the sunroof in the way.
I take it from your Avatar you're in Flame Red.

Ah, same model as mine and you are doing similar mods which makes me interested in this thread
I am having the alloys on mine refurbed and sprayed black, it's the cheaper option and should look good. The wing mirrors and grill, I couldn't decide wether to have them sprayed or just have a vinyl wrap on them, turns out the vinyl wrap is cheaper for me too. None of it is done yet but it is all getting done in the next few weeks.
You got anything else planned?
Quite fancy the roof panel in black too... Although a work mate has called me a chav already

Tints booked in for 28th,something around 40 or 50% should do.
New set of wiper blades ordered for f not & rear, £34 delivered, which I didn't think was too bad for Bosch.
Alloys to be done in May all being well.

Buyer backed out. Still for sale...

Nice one mate. Thanks for the super Skoda hint. I've had a look and now I want to order a set of rear foot sill plates!
The tints will make a massive difference once done.
Ditto, sills just look naked when you open the rear doors.

Cool, I take it you need the plug in unit to set the MPH display like that?
Not tested the rain closing on mine yet, would that need to be driving + windows down + wiper stalk on auto = close? Or does it work when parked up? Would be handy if it closed the sunroof too...
Leather looks great, improvement on the original seats.

So far have had the grill & mirrors sprayed in black, superskoda grille and the new badges.
Badges came off easier than I thought. Got the new style badge centre caps ready for when I have the wheels done.
Also managed to fit the mud flaps without taking the wheels off.
Not to everyone's taste but certainly keeps the car clean on these rural roads covered in mud.
Just needs a bloody good clean now, will be searching on here for tips.
Next up: tints...
Moving from Octy VRS to Karoq, how does it feel?
in Skoda Karoq

The Mrs has a 2.0 DSG 4x4 Karoq and i've got a 220 TSI VRS. The 2.0 Karoq engine has a lot of poke just not quite the poke of the VRS, however i prefer the driving position in the VRS to her Karoq. She used to drive my old Octavia all the time and the only thing she's moaned about so far with the Karoq is the boot isn't as big. Its still a decent size though IMO, however she prefers being sat higher up.
