I got my upgrades for my Skoda Superb I am very thrilled, I cant wait to get it and install this things... Have anyboy installed footrest yet? is it hard ?
I have done the foot rest and it requires you to remove the bottom trim panel of pillar A, which in turns requires you to remove the bonnet lever as well as lift the bottom part of the door panel.
Not too difficult, but a little fiddly (for someone like me who has never removed any car paneling before)

I see you have removed the badges on the rear. I'm thinking of doing the same with my car (arriving next week). Did you have the dealer do it, or did you use a hair dryer/heat gun and thin fishing line? (or something else)
Hilsen Christopher
Hi Christopher
I had the dealer (Møller Rud) remove all 3 badges (Skoda, Superb and 4x4) from my car before handover.
Bad experience as the company that prepares the cars for them, OTP, evidently used something like a screwdriver to remove the badges, leaving deep marks and scratches.
Good experience that the dealership took full blame, had the bottom part of the tailgate repainted, and then will be covering half (~4000 NOK) of my upcoming paint protection treatment.

I have a MY2017 estate and it has the black detail wind deflectors at the top of the rear window.

The RS footrest from SuperSkoda requires no drilling
Found the replacement instructions on erWin

Hi
Have anyone changed the standard footrest on their S3 with DSG?
If so, do you have detailed step-by-step procedure for how to do it that you could share? Pictures? Video?

Finally my observation is that the throttle takes a bit of getting used to. Acceleration is pretty gentle for the first 1/2 of the travel and then the transition to "**** off shovel" mode occurs over a fairly short travel so it is not that easy to accelerate briskly without the DSG taking it up to the red line (even in normal mode). In other words it's a bit "all or nothing". No doubt I'll get used to it.
My best investment thus far for my 280 is the ResponseControl from RaceChip. It transforms the "sluggish" default throttle to the level of response you'd prefer.
Putting the car in Sport mode and ResponseControl in Sport Plus II and you've got a beast at your fingertips. It's just insane

It of course had to happen...
The evening before it was going in for another look/fix, I took the car for a spin to check SatNav situation. Disappointment awaited me as the SatNav worked like a charm.
Woke up early next morning to find it still working. New then that it would be impossible for Skoda to debug/diagnose and fix anything this time around, as there was nothing wrong...
They had the car for the day, all was just fine. Now I have to cross my fingers that the issue does not return, or maybe that it does so that they can fix it.

Original factory fit oil. Truth is the additive packs wear out quite quickly but you wouldn't know this in the absence of scientific oil analysis.
Cheers
So you guys would recommend an oil (and filter) change after running in the engine (2000-3000 km)?

Have anyone upgraded their iPhone device to iOS 10 and tested new CarPlay version in their S3?
Any issues?

I have changed all 4 door courtesy lights on my MY17 L&K with LED replacements from SuperSkoda. No problems, no festoon bulbs - all 4 units have plug base on the end.

So the car has been in for service today.
They did not resolve the issue after having verified SW versions and connections (also wheel speed sensors - they said :wonder: ) and having reset the system. After having been in contact with the Skoda factory they have been told to replace the GPS receiver/antenna, so I will be going back in 2 weeks time :S
Let's see if that resolves it - I have my doubts, as the GPS signal is OK and spot on at refresh intervals.
-
Interesting, will test that theory on my way home today.
Then let's see what the dealership says in a week's time.
-
NATO is never in my area, they are up north :-)
Anyways, it happens every time and everywhere...so obviously a fault in the system of some sort.

Mine has a factory towbar but didn't come with the adaptor.
So i guess we are luckier here in Norway, having the adapter included for free
Then again my trailer does not need one as it is only a couple years old.

Hi guys.
My brand new Superb has a real annoying Columbus SatNav issue that I wonder if anyone else has experienced.
The arrow indicator showing location of car freezes for many seconds, then catch up to current location before freezing again.
The entire screen does not freeze as the map turns if I turn the car, but the arrow does not move.
This all renders navigation useless as instructions are given, but turns are passed before arrow once more catches up.
The map software has been updated to latest ECE 2017 without any luck
It is scheduled for a trip to Skoda service next Friday, and they figured it was either some bad firmware or a faulty GPS receiver.
Anyone experienced the same?

oddvaoes, those wheels are sexy. What size and name are they?
Not Skoda ones as you can see. They have VW logo in the hub

Hi Phil74,
How is the car??
Just one question - I wasn't aware they did beige alcantara, is this right?
They certainly do beige alcantara :-)
At least on the SE L Executive.

If you replace the fog light bulbs with the led ones, you are not able to see the envirement when the weather is foggy. That's why fog lights are normal bulbs.
Don't really need the front fog lights for foggy conditions, headlights will do the trick then.
But they are handy in the dark when cornering, and LEDs would fit more nicely in with the rest of the front lighting package of the S3.
-
Has anyone found LEDs for the front fog lights that fit the 280 yet?
Which fuel? 95 or 98?
in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
Posted
And that's what it says in tank lid for us with the 280 version
So, the Skoda factory does recommend the 98 octane fuel for it, even though when I challenged a mechanic about the fact when picking up the car, he stated that he would recommend 95.
